We all know of a fighting game called Ehrgeiz right? the one that takes place in the FF7 world, well the main character is a guy called Ken Mishima.

this dude right here User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

sound familiar? well you might be thing of Kazuya Mishima or Heihachi Mishima from Tekken. Ken has Kazuya's gloves, a combination of Jin Kazama's and Lee's Chaolans hair (Jin being Kazuya's son and Lee being Heihachi's adopted son), has a style similiar to Kazuya's, runs the construction department of the Mishima Corporation (Which is owned by Kazuya and Heihachi Mishima), and has Kazuya's signature Lighting Screw Upper. Plus he was created by Namco, the company that made Tekken. He could be a link between Final Fantasy 7 and the Tekken universe

Actually, the game does not take place in the world of Final Fantasy VII at all. Cloud and the other Final Fantasy VII characters only have cameo appearances. The game characters specifically designed for the game have nationalities of places around the world not included in Final Fantasy VII, such as Japan, Korea, the U.S.A., and various countries in Europe. In addition, the game was made by Dream Factory, not Namco.

However, what I find more interesting is that, in the game of Ehrgeiz, if you were to play the 'RPG' part of the game, an NPC insinuates that Cloud and Sephiroth have appeared at different points in the town. You can also get Cloud's Ultima Weapon. This suggests a possible link with with Koji Masuda and Clair Andrew's world, Earth (essentially, our world). I don't think Godhand has any particular link to the Tekken series, but the fact that it's hinted that there's a link between the two worlds/universes (due to Cloud and Sephiroth being able to appear at some point), then there's a possibility of it having some relation to Tekken's world. You know, like how one might say there is a link between Ivalice and Gaia, since Cloud is a playable character in Final Fantasy Tactics?

It would be interesting if some of the characters, especially Tifa, were able to cross over some how and participate in some of the tournaments. xd I'm not a big Tekken fan, so I'm not quite familiar with the story, but I could see it happening. It isn't a strong link, but it still sorta exists. If there's a good enough writer out there (which there very likely is), they could really turn this concept into something great.

Seeing the Tekken characters either allying themselves or fighting against the Final Fantasy VII characters would be very interesting indeed.

I was wondering that, too... Although wasn't his name Godhand? Eh...

Well, I guess making cross-overs between Tekken and FF7 make more sense, seeing as even the game company did it in one of their games...

Still, kinda freaky...

yes his name is Ken "Godhand" Mishima, it even says on his wikipedia that he was created by Namco, only that character not the entire game

Well, namco has been known to mix characters around (Yoshimitsu is a main character in Tekken and in Soul Calibur) So it wouldn't be surprising if it had somewhat to do with tekken.

But I didn't know that though, I played Ehrgeiz when I was about 11 or 12, so I can't remember all of that. Since it's not that popular of a game, and oh so underrated, no t much is known about it, nor are there many emulators for it that actually work! @_@

That's not very true... FF isn't the only thing Square makes, they got some nice games apart from that. And, in Ehrgeiz, the rest of the characters were made by Square, and I really think Han De Hand, the mecha leg guy, was pretty rare and awesome. For his time, anyway.
Plus, have you seen the names, the hairstyles, and the outfits they make? That's hella creative in my view...

well Square has created a few cliche's in video games, spiky blonde hair, dead girlfriend, kids saving the world from annilation, you get the picture

Well, how about the fact that people who made the soul calibur 2 game brought in spawn and link for their respective system versions... so.. i don't see why they wouldn't be unwilling to let out a char or two to another company to plant an easter egg there.

In fact, I think this kind of cooperation in teh gaming world could open up lots of interesting possibilities.

i knew about a lot of thsoe chars in Ehrgeiz. but, i didn't know zack was in there too.

I totally agree with you! Nintendo Power having Master Chief in there magazine, Snake in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Nintendo and Microsoft Working together, cameo's and refrence's to classic games from rival in newer games, Sega having its genesis games on the Wii, its happening all the time now!

*Crosses fingers for Cloud in SSB:Brawl.*

Not likely, but oh, how much a** he would kick! And with those new special moves in Brawl that we don't know much about, there might be room for an Omnislash somewhere. biggrin

its basically impossible for Cloud to be in brawl, because the only nintendo console he was ever on was the GBA for Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories.

Omnislash would be nothing compared to Kirby's cooking pot!

Remember when it was impossible for Solid Snake to be in Brawl, because he wasn't made by Nintendo? Nintendo's changing the rules, and it's becoming difficult to keep up. As ever, we're just gonna have to wait and see. 3nodding

And perhaps Omnislash wouldn't keep Cloud from getting cooked, but you know it would cause the eyes of anyone else playing to bleed, rendering them defenseless. And when I say defenseless, I mean "unable to attack", like a defenseless turtle, which is, in fact, rather well defended, but is completely unable to attack. Unless you duct-tape a laser onto its shell, making it a tank.

Holy crap, I think it's nap time for Raine. sweatdrop
