He sat in a field of grass touched with the elegant glow of moonlight. Every blade was captured with white, a ghost waving gently in the breeze. It was a simple view, with grass that extended to the trees which were now dark shadows against the navy sky.
"When do you think the rains will comes Kal?" He whispered, raising his head up to the star-studded sky that looked down at him from it's celestial beauty. There was something magical in the air tonight.
They will come, but even I find it hard to predict nature my love.
The adolescent sighed and his large ears drooped a little as he felt yet again saddened at the fact that it might not be for a good while. The fact that not every rainfall brought with it a rainbow was even more upsetting and it wasn't often that Uzushi let anything get to him.
However his quest had been put off again and again and he was beginning to think it would never happen.
Is it really so bad?
"Of course, I wanted to find paradise!"
Sometimes the things we search for our closer than we realise.
Uzushi huffed and wrinkled his nose, settling himself to gaze up at the sky and pick out the pictures they made. Star gazing was a lot of fun!
Uzushi, this friend of yours...Binifu...
"What about her?"
Do you remember the dream I gave to you about her when you slept?
Uzushi nodded and though Kalpana had no eyes to see with she heard his response as if he had spoken it. She sighed mentally and wished once more that she could break free.
Do you understand the term love at all?
"Love? You mean how I love my friends and family?"
No, I am talking about a different love, the love your father has for your mother, the love that produces pups.
"I don't understand that, no."
Uzushi I can feel in your heart... And she broke off here as if distraught and holding back tears. I feel in your heart that you are slipping from me. I love you in this way Uzushi. I love you but I am nothing but a voice in your mind, I am unable to nuzzle you, to hold you close but that does not mean that what I feel isn't real. If I had a body of my own than I would take you as my mate.
It was quite clear that Uzushi's 'seer half' had become somewhat detatched from himself, two beings inside one body. It could only spell disaster. His young and naive mind had not yet realised what Kalpana truly was and it was this that was making Kalpana so uncontrollable. All he needed to do was accept his gifts and her voice would be silenced forever.
Accept them and Kalpana would die.
If he could learn control then he would have reign over his visions instead of a personality that dwelled in his mind. However, would gaining control be worth it if his advisor was no more? Only time would tell.
"Kalpana..."
No, don't pity me Uzushi. I have accepted that I cannot have you but...it still hurts to see you so attracted to another.
"Another?"
Oh don't be a fool Uzushi! And her voice was harsher than it had ever been before, I have seen through your eyes. You are slowly but surely falling in love with her. I feel it in you, the way your heart warms at the sight of her.
"In....in love with Bini?" He squeaked. "She's a friend Kal, she's a--"
--That dream you had, what was it about Uzushi? Tell me.
"I...I was with Bini and...and there were lots of puppies around that look like us. They were all bouncy and hyperactive, full of energy and spirit."
Those pups Uzushi, those pups were made from the love you and Binifu share. You have a future with her. That dream - in time - will become reality.
Uzushi shook his head and tried to comfort her but Kalpana ignored him, falling silent then to leave him basking under the pale moonlight with nothing more but the chirping crickets to keep him company.

Bini was moving through the land with her nose almost pressed to the ground, breathing in all of the 'nighttime' scents. She'd already did this during the day, but everything was so new! She had to explore again, it was a different setting now!
Her ears perked and something caused her to lift up her head, her eyes slowly scanning the area. There! It was Uzu! She did not know of the conversation, or even arguement, that he'd just been having with his seer half. How could she?
Tail wagging she began to trot over. And then thinking of a bitter game she slid lower, earsslightly back and tail falling still. Now she was stalking forward, ready to pounce.

He tried to call her back mentally but she did not answer, and realising that she would probably stay silent for a good while he left it alone.
Kalpana was really odd sometimes. Didn't she know that he was bouncy and friendly with everyone? Just because Bini happened to be a lot like him and happened to be pretty didn't mean that he...he...
He snorted, brow furrowing slightly as he let his forelegs stretch out so that he could lower himself onto his chest. He might as well enjoy the view!
So unknowing that he was currently being stalked Uzushi raised his head to the stars and traced the patterns they made above him. They were so captivating that he saw nothing else but their shining light.

Bini was filled with excitement as he layed down to view the stars, not noticing her at all. When she got close enough she readied herself....
and suddenly jumped out at him, aiming to land on him with a little barking, though the barking was immedietly disturbed by her laughter. She thought these games were just too much fun.

The moment her body collided with his Uzushi was jolted from his reverie, a small yelp leaving his throat. However a split second later and he found his ears filled with laughter and as if it were contagious he began to laugh too.
"Bini!" He squeaked, large ears turning with his face as he turned to gaze into her bright blue eyes that were now filled with moonlight.
"You made my heart go jump!" He wagged his tal and tried to n** playfully at her ears.

With little squeals of laughter at each n** she began to lick playfully at his face, in a friendly manner. "Ehehe, so I scared you!" She stated after a minute, giving his nose a very gentle n** before she rolled off of him, proud of her accomplishment.

He grinned and nosed at her face in a gentle manner before watching as she rolled off of him.
"Yup!" He was not shy to admit that she had scared him, but it didn't matter now. It was only Bini after all! Then with a wide smile he turned questioning eyes to her and spoke again.
"How comes you're awake? I thought you'd be sleeping." Then quickly he added, "not that I mind, it's good to have company, especially after an argument." His ears drooped at the thought of Kalpana and unconsciously he moved to rest his face against her neck.

Bini whined slightly at hearing he'd had an arguement, and when he rested his head on her neck she shifted slightly so she could snuggle into him. This was comfy! "Who did Uzu have an arguement with?" She said quietly, looking puzzled and worried.
"And I couldn't sleep, too much to explore!" She giggled slightly.

He tipped his head back, tugging his nose from the warmth of Bini's neck fur. Not disturbing her from her position he released a soft sigh, smiling at her other comment. Bini always knew how to cheer him up!
"My friend Kalpana, she...she likes to tell me what to do and sometimes when things don't go her way she gets mad."
"But as long as you are here she'll stay away! ...Hopefully." His tail wagged. "You wanna do something fun?"

Oh, that other wild dog again! Why would she stay away from Uzu just because Bini was here? She whined slightly and nipped at his chest, still laying comfortably. "Does Kal not like me?" She said slowly, a little confused.
But then all thoughts were pushed aside. "Oh yes! I wanna do fun things!" She laughed, rolling onto her back and shifting so she could watch him be upside-down.

Uzushi's ears drooped and for a moment something stirred within him which was uncomfortable and...embarrasing. He cleared his throat and let his eyes slide back to gaze at Bini in an almost secretive fashion.
"Kal's jealous of you I think. She thinks I like you more than her. She thinks I..." He sniffed and decided not to continue. For some reason the words that he had wanted to say were proving difficult.
"Well nevermind, let's go! I know a real pretty place!" With that he was up on his paws and nudging at her exposed belly with the end of his nose.

Bini's ears twitched. She didn't understand how this Kal could be jealous of her, they'd never even met each other! And she was sure Uzu liked them both the same...
At his nosing she squeaked and giggled, lightly nudging him with a foot before clamboring to her own paws, nipping at his tail. "Alright, let's go!"

And with that he dashed across the lands, enjoying the feel of wind in his fur. The night air was always so refreshing that it was hard not to enjoy.
He raised his head and gave a howl, turning back his head to see if Bini was giving chase.
Oh he loved to run. He could run and run and run and feel so alive. It was just a shame that his legs got tired so soon.
He darted through into a small gathering of trees and faded into the night, hoping that his friend would follow him. It was always good to run side by side with someone you enjoyed being with.
And he did so like being with Binifu.
The night closed in upon them like a pair of jaws and above the stars twinkled, the never-ending blanket of lights casting the scene with a romantic hue.
