Post 1: Updates & Rules Updated!Post 2: Plot and Summary Post 3: Map, Environment & Magic Updated!Post 4: Characters and Roles Updated!Post 5: Profiles and Old Characters Feb 1, 07 --> Hey hey hey! If anyone didn't notice, I've updated this front page alot! I spent a whole bunch of time just messing around with it to make it look pretty, so appreciate it. ;P
I also went through it all and updated a lot of the information. One thing you should all check out is the Roles in post 4. I posted a huge list of all the jobs around the ship, what is expected of them, rank, etc. and you all need to look at it! It will help you know what your character can and should be doing around the ship. Rosette is officially the Master Mage; Tanyeera, Ava Elani, and Nerissa all fall under the category of Guardian (with varying purposes); and I think that's it for surprises.
New Jobs! Boatswain and Mage Carpenter! If you are unsatisfied with the job your character is or just want to upgarde, you can ask for one of these jobs. Also, if you can think of any other Mages we could have on board, I'm all ears. I have someone interested in Mage Healer, but haven't heard from them in a while... =P
Other updates: Details about all the countries/islands listed on the map, including the races that inhabit them. Please read this if you want to sound like you know something... A list of races and beasts has been added, for your information pleasure, and I have started a Summary of events up to the present, which I will try to keep updated in case someone falls behind.
All right, that's it I think... Enjoy the information and the prettiness!
Sincerely, your hard-working host, who doesn't post very often. mrgreen
Jan 26, 07 --> ATTENTION! Everyone, there is a discussion going on in the OOC THREAD!!! Please read through or skim and give some input!!! It would be very much appreciated!
Doom has stepped up to be our NEW First Mate, and we are leaving PRONTO! If you didn't roleplay your character getting back on the boat we'll leave you behind! No not really, just pretend they're on board already. Brace yourselves, kids! It's going to be a wild ride from here on in! Muahaha. twisted
Jan 17, 07 --> Whoa there... it's 2007 and this is my first post? Dang, I'm sorry guys. My absence happened to be extended a little longer, and it's my fault. I hit a little lag, and this is basically my first time on the computer since I got back. I want to apologize to you all, and I hope you'll forgive me! I promise I'm back now.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who kept it up while I was away! You sure didn't need me, and it looks like you've had some fun off on that plot! Now that it's been mostly resolved, I think, we will probably leave port soon. We have a few new characters that need to catch the ship before it leaves! That's so awesome, really! I have never actually officially closed new joiners, figuring that they would dwindle away, but I am so amazed! People keep asking to join, and i won't turn them down! =] THere's lots of room on the ship, and there are always people who leave or t;urn inactive, so it's good to have fresh blood come in. THanks to you all!
I'm going to post up a summary of all that's happened in one of these threads, so that new comers and absentees (like me) can refer to it so we know what's happened so far. I'll update it as we go along, which I should have done from the beginning.
Also, it would seem that the First Mate role is filled, if Doom still wishes to accept!
Thanks to everyone who has been loyal to this Rp, I'm so grateful!
Dec 26, 06 --> Heya everyone! It turns out that I do have access to a computer on my holidays. It doesn't mean I'll really be on much, but I happen to be bored right now... Heads up that a plot has been plotted and appears to be in the works right now. I encourage everyone to get involved in some way, but if people are really into say a conversation with only a couple characters, try not to get in the way. You will be reprimanded for being annoying! XD
Anyways, after some recent cleaning up (well, more like paying attention) two character have been taken off the charts. Blade and Chalice and Lethex3 are both no longer members of the guild, and therefore of the RP as well. They have their reasons. This means that the positions their characters held are free. Siduri was a mage/entertainer, and Zara was the First Mate!
I should have looked into it earlier, I know. Since First Mate is an important job, I need someone to take it over. Your character can be two things at once. If you're a mage, you can also be First Mate. It's really just a title... but if you're interested please PM me and we'll see if it works out.
And, I think that's all I was going to say. Sorry for the giant lag we've had, I promise that we will get some adventurous stuff going as soon as we get back on the water. For now, enjoy the adventures of the port, and I'll talk to you later!
- Immortal
Oct 13, 06 --> To whom it concerns! I have updated the Magic section, and changed/ elaborated on many things about it! Anyone who wants to do magic on the ship must read all of it!
Sept 30, 06 --> Wow! We're off to such a great start everyone! And you should all be amazed at my time traveling skills. Anyways, check out the settings post again, becaue I've drawn a map!!! I like to draw maps, so I made one of the route of our voyage. I will update it often, because as you can see I'm tracking how far we have progressed along the intended journey. As you will note, there are also countries/ islands drawn there, and I may be writing little bits about them if it's relevant. Hope it helps you, if not, it helps me. =] I love creating worlds. If you ever need a map made, call me! xD
Sept 13, 06 --> Lethex3 has taken the role of First Mate! Yay to her! Welcome her, everyone, with kindness and gladness.
Sept 13, 06 --> And we are moving along fine. I've been looking up information on ships, found some pictures to give you a better idea of the size, as well as the names of the various areas. Go look at... post 3!
Sept 11, 06 --> We've started with five characters! Let the good times roll! xD More people welcome, it's never too late!
We have our Captain, Navigator, Mage, and a stowaway! This is good, people.
Sept 10, 06 --> Well, thread is up, and we're taking players! Whoo! As you can see... I'm fond of lists and writing alot. If it's too much, I'm quite sorry. Not sorry enough to shorten it, though. twisted Yes, I'm a dictator! Buaha!
Gaia ToS and the rules of Guild apply in all their splendor. Follow them, or face dire consequences. pirate
PM your profiles and character plans to me. Don't post them in the thread!
Respect other players, and don't 'block' ideas. Go with the flow and ideas of others!
Follow posting length guidelines. Give us things to work with, and actually interact with characters... I believe it is a nine sentence minimum now! Some people still don't follow that!
You're not stupid, so don't act like it. =P
Everyone is allowed a MAXIMUM of two main characters. This excludes any NPCs you may want to control at any time.
Romance is encouraged, anything inappropriate is not. 'Nuff said.

The Seraphim was the grandest ship in all of Port Vane. Her pure white hull and billowing sails were a shining welcome to each new day, like an angel beckoning the morning. She was the largest, and the most advanced of all vessels in the kingdom. Every piece of timber and cloth used in her making was infused with magic for protection, strength, speed, and cleanliness. She is one of kind.
Now she will embark on a voyage across the Sea of Mercies to a land unknown. She will chase a tale, a mere rumor of a new world untouched and flourishing with strange life. Ancient legends find their origin in this hidden continent, and it is the resting place of many old and dangerous treasures. They call it the Blessed Land, or Peregre.
Emperor Torisht rules the cold country of Rishvell, and he has heard of the rumors that spread with awe and fear. Rishvell. Torisht dreamed of the Blessed Land day and night, of a world with fresh land for his people and more riches for himself. The tales were promising, and he soon arranged for a journey to be undertaken. A journey to seek out Peregre, and the secrets within.
Aeron Deleste is the Harbormaster of Port Vane, and has been given control of the operation. Torisht demanded the best ship be used for such an important venture, and The Seraphim was quickly prepared. A crew was carefully selected, and all passengers given private invitations. Unable to accompany the ship himself, Aeron sent his only daughter, Rhiannon as Patroness of The Seraphim. She would be defender, financer, and supporter of the voyage, working in league with the Captain.
Now, in the spring of the year 1256, the waterways are open and the sun is warm. The Seraphim awaits her passengers and the crew is busy at work, loading cargo and supplies for the long journey ahead. Soon, she will set her sails to the wind and the Blessed Land. Danger, treasure, and legends of old await all who join this portentous voyage. Yes, finally it's here! For the sake of everyone's sanity and to avoid confusion, here is a brief summary of all the events that have happened so far on our journey! I will try to update when it is necessary. arrow We begin in the glorious Port Vane, where the greatest ship in all of the Rishvell Empire sits. The Seraphim waits patiently as her passengers board in the early morning.
arrow Once all crew members and supplies are on board, The Seraphim sets sail under the command of Captain Zeiser, with the Patroness Deleste accompanying.
arrow The first order of business: a meeting is called among the officials of the ship, where the nature of their voyage was discussed and all crew present were made to pledge their allegiance to the journey and it's cause.
arrow Later that evening, a small protective spell falters and a freak ecounter with some spooks gets the ship in an uproar. Strange muttering voices fill the air, until the Mage Rosette cleverly finds the source of the problem and repairs the damage.
arrow Khnui, a stowaway pledged to protect Peregre, tries to spread more fear by writing gibberish in red paint on the walls. This is found to be a hoax, but rumors start anyways.
arrow The ship sails quickly, and reaches a second stop the next morning. Port Rekitose. They intend to stop for merely an hour, but an incident drags it on.
arrow Rosette ends up wandering a little too far and stops to ask directions in a weapons shop. This happens to belong to a relative of Khnui.
arrow As Rosette goes to leave, they knock her out and kidnap her, hoping to delay the voyage a little more.
arrow Chrono, being somehow connected with Rosette, knows something has happened. Tanyeera quickly takes the initiative to help him, but neither of them know the city.
arrow May, the new cook's assistant/healer, hear their call for a guide, and helped them find their way through the streets.
arrow They find the shop and after a chat with the shopkeep, Chrono sees Rosette's medallion laying on the floor. Chrono threatens the shopkeeper, and Tanyeera finds Rosette in the back of the shop.
arrow They return to the ship.

Buahah! This is a map tracking our progress, as well as showing countries/islands we will be passing by. Feel free to mention these places - though I will be having special plans for some of them.
Isn't it pretty? xD I will also be tracking, as much as possible, any crazy events that happen in a specific place (like being attacked by a sea monster or something - not saying that it will happen pirate )

The Ship Most of the roleplay will be done on the ship, sailing the Sea of Mercies. The Seraphim herself has a pure white hull and deck. In the interior rooms beneath the deck, it is a dark brown - normal woody natural stuff. It is all crisp and clean, very well kept by magic and crew. The Seraphim keeps no cannons or oars, as it depends much on the Mages to maintain safety and propulsion even in the worst of times.
There is a system of bells throughout the day to signal the different times of the day. We won't get into the technical stuff, but I will randomly insert the ringing of the bells to change from morning to afternoon to evening, etc.
See this diagram for names of the different areas of the ship. Here
See this diagram, it is closer to the intended size and length of the ship. It is very large, and yes it has that many sails. =) Here
Wikipedia is my hero. Here is just some random stuff about ships and sailing, if you feel in the research mood. For the most part we won't care about the technical names and nautical terms. It kind of gives me a headache. =}
Ship
Sailing Ships
The Sea of MerciesThis is the vast western sea, widely uncharted. This is the sea that the Seraphim will be sailing across.
RishvellRishvell is the country that the Seraphim sets sail from. It is the westernmost tip of the main continent. It is populated mainly by humans, but many other races live in the numerous port cities, having traveled from other countries for trade or a new life. There are a few known tribes of Hertasi living in Rishvell and Takiria, and Gryphons are numerous as well. Rishvell is known for her skilled Gryphon Riders and great advancements in magic studies. All mages serious about the study of magic come to Rishvell. Emperor Torisht is the greedy but just ruler of Rishvell, a half-elf in all his splendor. =]
TakiriaThe neighbouring country to the southeast of Rishvell. It is also well populated by humans, but elves are also very common here. It is an ally of Rishvell, and not hostile.
Bellos RaydorA small continent ruled by the Elven race, where other races are discouraged to live. Bellos Raydor sits to the Northwest of Rishvell, the wide region of the sea called Kilmer's Neck stands between them. Rishvell does a lot of their trade with this country, but they are not allies. Many gryphons make their homes here, as well as pegasii.
FirmistA large island just west of Bellos Raydor. Firmist is just as mysterious as it's name, and very dangerous. Rumor tells that the elves send all the exiled and the criminals here to fend for themselves deep in the forests of the island, where they practice dark magics. It is also rumored that it is the hiding place of wondrous beasts, such as the unicorn, and sea serpents abound around this island.
HamersA mountainous, wild continent to the northwest. It is inhabited by dwarves, goblins (a race slightly like the elves, who are very industrious but don't like to mix with other races.), centaurs, and many of the more wild creatures (like wyverns, rocs, and nemean lions). It is a country that few leave, and few enter freely.
BardenBarden is a large tropical island littered with volcanoes - some active, some not. Centaurs and Hertasi are the msot numerous inhabitants of Barden, but are by no means 'uncivilized' as many assume. Some even believe there are dragons living on the island, but little is really known about it.
The Isles of GillsBarely even on the charts, the Isles of Gills are a small collection of tropical islands. It is said that the strange race known as the Sirens reside here, but that is just a rumor. There is a myth that anyone who drinks the fresh water on the Isles of Gills will be given the gift of breathing beneath the water. There are also myths that water spirits live on the islands, and will give wisdom and guidance to travelers, at a cost.
The Waning IslandsThese islands have only been recorded on one known map, an old ancient thing found in an old hermit's home after he died. Nothing is known of them.

So, basically think of magic as something everyone in the world can learn, though it takes more of a skill and an excellent memory - something you have to study like any other profession. It is a thing of continual research, so no one knows all the spells possible or even what all magic is capable of doing. Sort of like science, as it has natural laws that restrict it, and we are always discovering more and more about it.
As for 'natural laws', magic does have it's restrictions. Depending on level of skill, the caster must be close to it's subject. A beginner would have to be touching the object/person, but an intermediate would only have to be able to see it. That sort of thing. Examples: You can cast a light spell on a ball of clay and make it seem like a light bulb. You can cast healing into an individual, or strength or protection. You can alter the appearance of things, or cause physical pain. The spells that are possible really depend on the mage's area of expertise, study, or just what they have a natural talent for. One mage will probably know different spells than another, and it is completely within reason that a mage would have 'discovered' or 'created' their own spells.
As for strength of spells, that relies on the confidence of the caster, and the method of the casting. The more you cast a spell, the stronger it will get - or if you know without a doubt and believe in what you are casting, it will be strong. Otherwise, strength also depends on how you cast. There are four basic types of casting:
1. Magic of Thought. Spells can be said in thought. This is the weakest kind - unless you practice and specialize in thought magic, in which case it could be the most subtle and dangerous when used maliciously.
2. Magic of Voice. Spells can be spoken normally. This is the most common and easiest way the cast a spell, and most mages use it. A beginner will always start with speech and perhaps later branch off into other techniques. Spells basically have their own language - called the Raw Tongue - so a mage would have to learn it.
3. Magic of Rhythm and Song. Spells can be sung. This relates to speaking spells, but it involves more of an art and is very difficult. The mage must, obviously, be an accomplished singer. Any misplaced or off-key notes can throw off an entire spell, depending on complexity. It is effective and entrancing, used mostly in the mental realm rather than in the physical. Song spells are often not very premanent, fading off within a short amount of time after the song is done – depending on skill of the caster.
4. Magic of Script. The strongest and most difficult method of spell casting is writing. It wouldn't seem to be that hard, but the Raw Tongue is tricky and dangerous to put on paper – both to the writer and the reader. Written magic is incredibly strong and is very hard to break, making it the most effective kind. There are very few books in existence that contain spells, and are usually encrypted to avoid the spells actually being effective.
Because of the nature of written magic, most spells are passed down orally. When a mage creates their own spell, they must remember it. Any beginner mage should have a spell tattooed on their skin by a expert in written magic, for excellent memory and ability to recall past memories. In that case, mage's will always have the best of memories, unless it was a weak of ineffective spell.
Annnnd, There is so much more I could write but won't. I will get too long winded, and I'm afraid I already have. If you have any questions about some aspect I have not covered, please please please talk to me. I don't want any magic going rampant on me! That is all, have a nice day!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please keep in mind that all passengers and crew on The Seraphim were carefully selected. That means that your character received a special invitation (or demand, really) from the Harbormaster to join the voyage. Unless they lead a double life, your character must have a skill, profession, or special interest that will somehow benefit the cause. Which, of course, is seeking out the new land. If your character is part of a plot and an odd profession is needed, then disregard this note. >_<
RACES
Different races are welcome, but try to stick to the pre-made list I've got. Please, don't be a: Werewolf, Vampire, Ninja, Shapeshifter, Demon/angel, Spirit (unless it's something like a water spirit in a humanish form.)
Known races of this world: (sentient) - Humans - Elves - Dwarves - Goblins - Gryphons - Dragons - Hertasi (lizard-like) - Centaurs - Sirens - Elemental Spirits
Known wonderous beasts of this world: (non-sentient) - Wyverns - Rocs - Nemean Lions - Sea Serpents - Unicorns - Pegasii (winged unicorns/horses) - Kufka (;>) - and more!
ROLES
Here is a detailed list of the roles about the ship. Refer to this if you don't know what the heck you are supposed to be doing, or if you want to take an open job for your character.
Captain, Senior Officer: In a word, he is the President of a small democracy. Normally considered level-headed, and decisive, the Captain will make the most important decisions (like where to pull into port) or put them to a vote. He has a veto in all votes. A respected leader, the Captain delegates tasks to Junior Officers and everyone must answer to him. Often, the Captain should be a skilled swordsman, and it is in the event of an attack that he really shines. Acts as judge in any serious trials, and sheriff in any duels. Role Filled by: Captain Kordul Zeiser / Mr. Blackbird Lore
Quartermaster, Senior Officer: Also known as the First Mate, he is the second-in-command to the Captain. He will take over in the absence or death of the Captain, and helps him with any duties. His main tasks are maintaining order, distributing rations, delegating work, and overseeing. The Quartermaster alone (unless the Captain wants a say) will decide and deal out any discipline to crew members, but often will do this with only enough severity to maintain order. Given a veto in any voting situation. Role Filled by: Cain Crest / `Cookie of Doom`
Boatswain, Senior Officer: Answers to the Captain and Quartermaster. He oversees many junior officers, is responsible to keep up crew morale, and promote work efficiency. There are many jobs about the ship he can be delegated to do, such as managing deck crews, maintenance of rigging, the anchoring of the ship, maintenance and repair of hull, rigging, lines, cables, sails, and anchors. The Boatswain may also be the Mage Carpenter, or work closely with him. - AVAILABLE - Navigator, Senior Officer: The Navigator must be skilled in directing, plotting, and maintaining the course of a ship. He must be good at guesswork and reading stars for direction. He decides along with the Captain where to pull in to port, and where to stay away from. He acts partly as the Helmsman, steering the ship, but also delegates this task to junior officers. Role Filled by: Chrono Truth / Shader-san Patron: The Patron, usually of high nobility or royalty, is the main funder of a major voyage. Someone from their immediate family will accompany the ship, seeing that their money is put to good use and that the purpose of the voyage is fulfilled. They are given authority simply because without them, the voyage could not have happened. Normally they cannot make any major decisions or order the crew, but their opinion must be listened to, and they hold a veto over any vote. Role Filled by: Rhiannon Deleste / Immortal Goldfish Master Mage, Senior Officer: The most skilled mage aboard, the Master Mage oversees all other mages, and should have a general knowledge of most types of magic. More of a 'jack-of-all-magics' than a specialist. The Master Mage is expected to constantly keep up and oversee the spells of the entire the ship, but leaves duties of the Mage Carpenter alone if possible. Should be able to easily detect a faded, broken, or missing spell and repair it. Specifically watches over spells such as the direction and strength of the enchanted wind, protection and warding spells, and the maintenance of magical lights around the ship, among others. Role Filled by: Rosette Delias / Shader-san Mage Carpenter, Junior Officer: In charge of repairing any damage done by nature or battle, aswell as the soundness of the ship. A skilled mage, he maintains and repairs spells of strength and support around the ship, specializing in 'building' and 'repair' magics. Despite magical skill, he also must have great skill in the carpenter craft, for the situations when magic does no good. The Carpenter is highly valued! They may have an assisstant. Role Filled by: Dorian Delphiki / Mr. Blackbird Lore Mage Healer, Junior Officer: A mage skilled in healing magics. Crew would go to them with colds, fevers, wounds, or disease. Should be able to completely heal, partially heal, or speed up healing process, depending on severity and condition. Also expected to perform any amputations, if wounds in battle are too severe. A very important part of the crew, they maintain the general health of the crew. - AVAILABLE - Sentry: The Sentries must be a winged beast, traditionally a Gryphon, that will fly above and follow the ship, watching for enemies, landforms, or dangers in the water or sky. They are good weather-watchers and can usually predict storms along the way. Among their tasks, sentries should be able to fish, being good divers, thus supplying the crew with fresh seafood. Sentries are the eyes and ears beyond the ship's immediate area, and may often fly far ahead to scout. Role Filled by: Luft Himmel / Memory_Owl Tanyeera Mekelentin Canord / TanyeeraDeckhand: The main body and workforce of a ship, without them the ship would not be able to function. Work is delegated to them by any Senior Officer, which may include manning the Helm, working with the rigging, chords, sails, anchor, working below deck in the hold, and any general maintenance to make sure the ship runs smoothly. Often deckhands will have other talents, such as bard, translator, or some magical skills. Role Filled by: Gesten Eidechse / Memory_Owl- AVAILABLE - Cook: The ship's cook. He is in charge of serving out rations of food and water, having access to the stores of foodstuffs. Much of the food is preserved or dried, but the Cook would also have to cook fish or birds caught by the sentries. The cook may have an assisstant, and is loved as long as he can make food that doesn't kill the crew. Food examples: smoked meat (pork, beef), fresh meat (for the first little while), fish, fresh fruits and veggies (for a little while or magically preserved), dried fruit (like mango), flour and grains, water, rum and beer. Role filled by: Thomas Brakus / Hinge 1 Assistant Role Filled by: Mylene Haliey Quspa (May) / Mistyjoy11 Bard: The entertainers. Bards must be skilled with an instrument, and most likely with voice as well. They provide a break from the boredom of an uneventful day, playing jigs to dance to, shanties to work to, or background music to eat to. They are very well liked on the ship. Role Filled by: Chrono Truth / Shader-san- MORE BARDS AVAILABLE - Translator: On well-funded voyages, sometimes a crew will take on a translator, if they are planning to visit foreign ports or have a variety of cultures on board. This is often a side role, and can be allotted to any crew-member who is fluent in other languages. - AVAILABLE - Cabin Boy: A young boy who waits upon the Officers of the ship, for the purpose of learning all aspects of the maritime trade. Sometimes he is considered the Captain's servant, but normally puts in long hard hours as an apprentice of sorts. - AVAILABLE -Treasure Hunter: Those who are known for their skills at searching out and obtaining artifacts and precious objects. They are typically a rough-and-tumble bunch, and disliked by most upright, law-abiding citizens. They are useful to have around during explorations and travel. - AVAILABLE - Guardians: Those skilled in the art of combat. Guardians will accompany ships, and every merchany ship should have atleast one aboard. Commonly members of the Empire Guard accompany voyages and trade ships on Empire business, but many are Mercenaries - warriors for hire that Merchants and private voyages will hire for a hefty fee. Sometimes a Guardian will be assigned a specific individual or group of individuals to watch over. Role Filled by: Tanyeera Mekelentin Canord / Tanyeera - AVAILABLE - NPCs: Any crew members that are not taken by a roleplayer – and there will be MANY – can be controlled by you. Feel free to boss around a few deckhands. =)

I want to keep these short and sweet. Basically, the minimum that others need to know, and nothing else! Sounds good? Good. Because apparently no one likes profiles. Wretched things.
This roleplay will have a much better chance, atleast in theory, of flowing if we don't know everything about everyone else. Keeps the mystery and excitement. Hopefully.
So this is all I want:
Username: (For quick reference) Name: (First and last, of course.) Gender: (uhhh, yeah.) Age: (Keep it realistic. The entire crew can't be made up of 16 year olds) Race: (See post 4...) Appearance: (keep it short, give a picture, whatever you please. This is just so you don't have to cram in every speck of physical detail on the first post. It gets a little messy that way.) Role on Ship: (do you want the captain, passenger, and stowaway???)
This is all that will be put up on the front page for others to look at. Alrighty... The most important thing is plotting. If you want to be a bad guy, please tell me. Chances are, I'll have some sort of way to include you into a plotline. Whether good, bad, in the middle. We'll figure it out. We need some sort of evil presence, if you want that, don't hesitate to ask. =)
All Profiles shall be PMed to me, and then copied to... here.
Quote: Username: Immortal Goldfish Name: Rhiannon Deleste Gender: Female Age: 24 Race: Human Appearance: Fairly built, for a woman, from training in combat. Her hair reaches to her waist, and is a vibrant orange and red color, usually draw into one long braid, or many. She has sharp sea blue eyes and a fair complexion, standing at 5'8". She wears a long sleeved tunic of steely blue, with leather straps along her lower arms. Light armor is almost always worn overtop of this. Thick leather boots on her feet, coming to mid-calf and lined with black fur, and brown pants. She wears a necklace with a square pendant, bearing the sign of the Harbormaster. Here is a reference picture for the armor: Here.Role on Ship: Patroness of The Seraphim Mr. Blackbird Lore Username: Mr. Blackbird Lore Name: Kordul Zeiser (Prefers his last name.) Gender: Male Age: 29 Race: Human Appearance: Zeiser is of average height and a healthy weight. Strong and lithe, as is required of a captain. Sturdy leather boots, a pair of pants formed from a cotton-leather intermeshing. Durable and still quite flexible. A thick belt holds them up as well as his rapier and flintlock pistol (if you'll allow) with an unusual characteristic. His shirt is of the same material as his pants and brown while his pants are black. Wears an unusually heavy leather jacket, colored maroon and fingerless gloves. His hair is dark brown and his eyes are crystal green. Has a goatee. Role on Ship: Captain Name: Dorian Delphiki Gender: Male Age: 54 Race: Elven Appearance: Dorian is 6'4" and about 200 pounds. Still being rather youthful for an elf, he maintains a lithe and toned body as is expected of one in his position. The legs of his dark brown pants fit comfortably over the brim of his leather boots. Over his chest, he wears a dark tunic, and feels more comfortable to have his arms free, but often wears a green doublet to hide the many overlapping runes carved into his arms. His final adornment is a leather belt carrying his various tools that require the most use while the rest are held in his travel pack. His blond hair is cropped short so as not to cause issues while he works, and his eyes are a soft blue. Role on Ship: Mage Carpenter Shader-san Username: Shader-san Name: Rosette Delias Gender: Female Age: 17 Race: Human Appearance: Rosette and Chrono!Role on Ship: Friendly neighborhood Mage! ((okay, we have five characters up! Let's get going!))
A strong and gusty wind blew across the harbor, a clear sun beginning to brim above the horizon. Above the sea, where they would head in just a couple short hours. The large port had been risen with the dawn, and the activity now cowded it with life. Beside the top of the wide gangplank that connected The Seraphim to the land, Rhiannon stood as stoically as she could. The work was being done all around her, and she was used to that. It did aggravate her, though, and she wished she could convince someone to let her help. Instead, she was stuck standing at the top, trying not the be in the way.
Very well, then. She held her head a little higher, her arms relaxed at her sides, right hand resting on the end of a short battle ax. She had two, specially designed for her, one on either side of her hips. It was a different kind of method, fighting with axes... her mind drifted to this thought as she stared out over the bustling port. She had the responsibility to meet and greet the crew and passengers that were to come by invitation, seeing as she was the Patroness of this voyage. A job that her father had bestowed so graciously upon her.
Father, you definitely have a knack for throwing other people into the line of danger. You coward. she smirked to herself. This would be an interesting journey, and she would have to be prepared for all the trials that would come with it. Undoubtedly, there would be disagreement within the ship, when there was nowhere else to go but the sea.
A deckhand stood nervously beside her, holding a long list of names. Every person that came on to the ship would be checked off, after a letter of invitation was shown with the Harbormaster's signature and seal. A few sailors passed by, with a large crate held between them. Soon, the cargo would be fully loaded, and they could get down to business. Rhi's hand tightened about the ax, and she impatiently scanned the harbor. Surely they would all be up by now.

Brown. That was the mood Rosette seemed to be in. It didn't exactly make sense, being in a brown mood, but maybe it was to explain why she was wearing just so much of that particulary color. Brown pants tucked into brown boots, what looked to be half of a long brown skirt tied around her wait and concealing one leg, a slightly cropped brown top that exposed very little of slightly defined abdomine, a short cloak that only covered her shoulders and chest, and lastly was a long, thin brown scarf that rested around her shoulder and coul be used to cover her head. Out of all her adornments, she favored the scarf the most, probably becaus eit was a gift.
"Well, I have to admit the boat has be impressed." She said, spying the Seraphim as they stood in the crowd gathered around it. She and her accomplice, Chrono, both carried several bags with them.
"Yes, but don't you think we she get on it before it goes, Rosette?" Her friend said, pointing at the massive shift. Unlike her, her wore a simply, yet long coak that keenly covered all but his dark shoes and head.
"Alright, alright, I know, just give me a moment to admire it, okay? I won't get this view for a while."

Zeiser raised a hand to shield his eyes and look across the port. The Seraphim was impossible to miss. Its pure white hull shone more brightly than anything else Zeiser had ever seen in his entire shipping career. Dropping his hand to his side, he pressed forward, pulling the invitation from the inner pocket of his jacket.
Zeiser didn't seem like anything out of the ordinary on the surface. His brown hair was plain, his eyes were perhaps the farthest from capturing, and his wardrobe seemed almost ratty. However, his clothes were well kept, and Zeiser quite preferred to appear plain. It gave him some leverage when it came to new situations. Looking plain meant people treated you as a peasant, and that meant you got to hear all their complaints.
Adjusting his wide-brimmed and tall-standing collar, Zeiser strode up the gangplank and immediately flashed the invitation. "Captain Zeiser, ma'am," he stated plainly. Even his voice was hardly one someone would care to remember. That would change with time, though. He always made an impression as Captain.

He moved along the harbour. Quite nervous since he was basically breaking the law and could be hanged for it. But he had to do it since his family was entrusted with a special mission. Looking at the Seraphim, he couldn't help but gawk at it. It was stupendous in its framework and design. He shook his head. Remember the mission. Remember the mission. He kept repeating in his head. He had his cloak on which had the power to camouflage(sp?) him and took a very well tuned eye to see him. He also had numerous daggers with various powers. All of the powers of his daggers and cloak were derived from him since he was an unofficial mage. His father saw fit to it since his father was a blacksmith and wanted him to be the best blacksmith. The only way to do that is if one was a mage. But he didn't care at the moment since he too much on his mind right now. His first problem was getting on board. Problem one was that he did not have an invitation. Problem two was that there was a woman on the main gang plank that had two axes. He could easily defend himself if it came to a fight with her, but he would rather avoid conflict. He looked around to see where he could gain entrance. Then he saw it. There were several crates and barrels and he could easily infuse magic into them to conceal him and make things comfortable when they moved him. There also happened to be one near him and by the looks of how things were moving. He could easily make himself comfortable. So he got to work on it. He opened the crate and saw it was filled with apples. This was good since all he had to do was infuse some magic into the apples so that they moved easier. Doing that, he stepped in. The apples easily moved out of the way He was able to submerge himself without spilling any apples. Everything was going great so far. He stood back up and grabbed the lid. He put the lid back on as he submerged himself again. When the lid was on, he used magic to seal it shut again. All he had to do now was wait.

It was going to be a long day, Rhiannon knew that much. So far, their Captain hadn't even shown his face. What kind of a voyage is this, anyways? New worlds... it feels like I'm chasing a child's fairytale. a slight frown had taken her face as she thought these things. Still, there was a hope. If they had a good Navigator who could lead them true.
She caught a glimpse of a few people standing, staring at the ship. Two, who seemed like a couple, stood in the crowd below. No doubt, they would join them soon. Then a man took up the gangplank and pulled out an official piece of paper. He must just be a regular deckhand, or perhaps the cook by the way he's dressed. she mused to herself as he walked. When he introduced himself and held out the invitation, Rhi couldn't help but look surprised. The deckhand beside her shifted on his feet and took the papers.
"Captain Zeiser," she said without a flaw as she dipped her head in a tiny bow. She had been trained to be professional, and that was coming through for her. "I am Rhiannon Deleste, Patroness of this voyage. It is a pleasure to have you on The Seraphim. We plan to leave in approximately one hour, so you have that time to get established in the Captain's Quarters. I trust you shall know where they are." She gave a wry smile and didn't try to hide it. True, she was beneath even the First Mate, but she was also the Harbormaster's daughter. If this man had ever met her father, he would understand.
She briefly saw a young man open a lid on a barrel of apples, but paid it no mind. There were more imprtant things than petty thieves.

Zeiser nodded back, catching the momentary pause both the deckhand and Patroness gave him, however slight it had been. He nodded again when told to establish himself in the Captain's Quarters without the slightest hint of direction. Still, he passed them with a quiet, "Thanks," and moved along as he suspected the cabin would be located. Following his general knowledge of ship structure, he found the Captain's Quarters where he had hoped them to be. He moved in, looked around, and nodded. It would be sufficient. He set his small bag on the floor beside the bed and then exitted the room, ready to go help as was needed.
Just as Zeiser expected, he was accepted as an average member of the crew and he worked just like any other, if not harder. He helped load supplies aboard, Ready the sails, and even clean the upper deck. Zeiser didn't mind. If he was going to be the Captain, he was going to need respect because he would never be able to cut it relying on charisma alone as he had next to none.
It wouldn't be much of a challenge, though. He had succeeded in the past. Obviously he had, otherwise he wouldn't have received an invitation from Mr. Deleste to Captain such a fine ship on such a grand journey.

"Come on!" Rosette finally said, looking as if she'd burst from the overwgelming excitment. She grabbed Achrono by the arm and began to run towards the gang plank and up to the ship. OUt of the corner of his eyes, Chrono caught sight of someone lifting the lid on one of the many crates that would be placed aboard the ship. WHoever he was, he was undoubtedly one of the workers moving all the crates, who else?
"Hello there!" Rosette said bright as slipped the folded invitation out from bneath the folds of her clothes. The invite was a bit rumpled and dirtier, but perfectly legible and stated that this... girl was to be their Mage on board.
"Here is mine, ma'am." Chrono added with a polite bow. Unlike Rosette, his invitation looked as good as the day it was send, only a single corner was slightly bent, other than that, perfection. A navigator was expected to at leats be a little neat.

Not a lot of things passed Rhi's attention. She had a strange habit of watching people, just observing the ways they walked and talked and communicated. Not that it was particularly fascinating to her, but it almost happened as an instinct. To watch to world do it's thing. Zeiser, though, was an oddity. He had found the Captain's Quarters well enough, but hadn't established his rank among the crew. Instead of stepping up to authority, he worked beside them. Of course, they would never notice. Imagine their surprise, when he would stand before as not a deckhand, but the Captain. It would be interesting, to say the least.
Her attention was taken shortly after by the couple she had seen before Zeiser boarded. The woman was brimming with excitement, the man slightly more reserved in his enthusiasm. They both held out their papers, and Rhi took them, glanced at them, and then handed them on the man beside her.
"Welcome to The Seraphim, Lady Rosette and Master Chrono. It is good to know we will have a Mage with us, and a Navigator, of course. We will embark shortly, if you would like to take your things to your quarters and then come back to the deck. The two of you will also be required to attend a meeting in the Captain's Quarters after we have cleared the harbor. Veridus!" She called to someone behind the two. A tall but well kept middle-aged man lifted his head and came up with a slight bow.
"Patroness Deleste. What can I do?" Veridus asked, politely.
"Please, show these two to a room. I'm afraid that you will have to room with a couple other people. Single bunks are the best we can do - only the Captain enjoys a room of his own." she stated, quirking a curious eyebrow. The hint of a mocking smile traced her lips, and it seemed that she was somehow enjoying this.

" S'alright." Rosette said with a shrug. "I like the company. As long as their no lecherous blokes on board, things should go smoothly."
Chrono sighed slightly, most probably because he was one of the few who knew what exactly she would do in such a situation. It's something one would rather not write about.
"A group quarters is fine, and perfectly understandable, Miss...?" Chrono dded, not catching the woman's name yet.
