It was a lovely afternoon, and some time had passed since Chuakari had found Hasidi after his attack. Her own wounds were healing nicely, though she had some scarring on her paws- the most noticable were the thick lines on her front paw. She still walked with a limp, but it was fading. Today, now that everything was looking up, she'd decided to show Hasidi around a little more since he'd already spent some time around the coalition lands with her. She was enjoying his company a great deal.

"There are some mountains this way, I think," Kari said, looking off in the distance, "But I haven't really gone that way.." She shrugged, and looked around them to figure out where they were, and where they would go. Something was stopping her from taking him right to the baobab tree, which really was the main attraction of the lands, or so she thought. In any case, they could have fun going elsewhere.

Took a look at geography description, unsure about mountain comment. She can just be totally wrong, it doesn't matter, hehe. ))

Hasidi was a small adolescent earthy red lion, his heart full of hope, pride, and excitement. Meeting Kari had done something for him, for the first time in his life he forgot about his search fro answers, and was basking in Kari's company.

He walked slowly with a slight hobble leaning towards a limp, his left front shoulder blade had been all but crushed and his left hind leg torn, leaving nasty healing scabs. He was truly a sight to see, especially since Kari herself was torn up.

"Oh really? We'll have to investigate!" he let out a cub like giggle and quickened his pace bumping his right side against hers playfully, he still blushed furiously when ever he brushed against her or she touched him. "You promise that it's alright I am in these lands? I was warned never to go to far into a foreign territory without asking first.." his train of thought trailed off, of course ALL cheetahs were friendly, right?

Laio padded cheerfully along the edge of the track towards the waterhole, blackdipped forepaws skipping every other step, humming an odd tune she'd heard in the Southlands under her breath. She was full of food, and happy. Hunting always made her tired, but a good nap and the meat had settled enough in her stomach to be comfortable.

A new scent. The cheetah lifted her head to the wind, suddenly alert, white ringed tail lashing the floor quietly.

That was little Chua'kari's, unless she was much mistaken. But... a lion's scent? Her ears tipped back warily, and she shifted direction, picking her pace up to a gentle trot.

Chuakari had become used to the look of the healing wounds on the lion that accompanied her, and took a lot of how it looked to be a good thing. It was healing, that was a good thing. She was used to walking at a pace he could keep up with as well, and she'd adapted so it wouldn't be so obvious that he'd feel bad about it.

"You think?" she replied with a laugh, moving a bit to the side at his bump, "We will, then." With a giggle she watched him react to the touch, it was especially amusing since he was the one that touched her, "I'm sure it's fine! You're with me, and you're really nice." She had no reason to doubt it wouldn't be ok if he was nice, or she did not consciously have a reason. There was that something stopping her from going to the central lands.

Hasidi was a big goon at heart, a child trapped in a nearing adult body. He would never fully understnad the world around him, but that worked for him. Huffing and puffing a great deal he looked around, trying to take in each new thing he saw and for the first time in quite a long time he thought of Tisha, he missed her emensly and it would be akward asking Kari to allow him to go or to go with him to his home lands.

"I hope they'll accept me," he purred excitedly and glanced side long at Kari.

Hasidi was extremely unperceptive, you could stand infront of him and at times he would not see you, so there was no possible way he would be able to smell the adult cheetah that approached them, or even hear her odd little tune.

"Chua'kari!"

The cheetah's voice rang out loud and clear as she slipped to a halt just behind the two young cats. If this was one of the prided lions, she would have something to say to the pinkhued female. She was young, but surely she knew of the dream to keep this land for cheetahs alone? If this was merely a traveller, she would have to mark him strongly to negotiate his passage through.

"Who's this?" The dark blue eyes were wary, and her cheerful mood was subdued for a moment.

Kari walked along with Hasidi, not nearly as absorbed by her surroundings as Hasidi was. She didn't notice the scent of the familier cheetah behind them, either. Instead, she was focussed on walking and the conversation she was having with the lion at her side.

"Accept you? Does that mean you want to stay?" she asked, turning to look at him. He'd stayed this long, certainly, but actually seeking out the acceptance of the coalition said something else entirely. To her, it did. She didn't get to look at Hasidi long, for out of the corner of her eye she caught sight of Laio just when she stopped behind them. Her ears did almost a complete circle as she brightened when she first saw Laio, but then was startled by the tone and expression that the cheetah used.

"Laio," she called, smiling sheepishly and limping around to look at the cheetah- but not without giving Hasidi a quick glance. Based just on the tone the cheetah used, it was hard to guess what exactly she wanted to hear. Her best guess and bet would be to just be honest, "He's Hasidi.."

"Stay... I..." before he could complete his thought a harsh voice echoed and he quickly turned to look at the source of the voice. His heart pounded and in an instant he was back with the devilish hyenas that had torn him apart. An always present involuntary shiver ran down his spine and he glanced from side to side looking for aplace to run to, looking for openings.

A small barely visible sigh escaped him as the realization that Kari knew this older female..Laio was it? He noticed Kari's glance and for a moment was hesitant at what she might say, who was he? Of course he was Hasidi!

"I am Hasidi as Kari says," he bumbled his words uncomfortably, " I am but a humble traveler and she has been showing me around..." Had he said to much? Not enough?

Laio ignored the lion for a moment, suddenly picking up her pace to pad worriedly around Chua'kari, tail flickering slightly as her eyes narrowed. Her voice however was concerned.

"Kari, what happened to ya? Some nasty creatures beat you up? Kari, you should have stayed close into these lands, we coulda protected you..." Her voice was almost fierce, and a little upset. "And this lion, why did you bring him into these lands?"

Kari drew herself in, almost as if cowering, when Laio came over and circled her. She moved only her eyes to follow Laio- despite the concern in Laio's voice, she heard mostly the upset elements of it.

"I was attacked by a hyena," she answered, "A friend and I wen-"

She stopped what she was saying, it wouldn't look good to say she'd gone looking for trouble. It had happened awhile ago, she knew better now- there was no need to look unnecessarily foolish. Kari lifted her head again, "I'm sorry I left, I haven't left since. Hasidi is here because he helped me get back here safely, he found me when I could barely walk."

Her apology was sincere and almost desperate, and at the last explanation she glanced back at Hasidi with a small, grateful smile. She didn't mention how on a separate occasion he'd also been attacked by hyenas, Laio seemed to be mostly ignoring him.

The red lion's feelings were hurt at being ignored and as the older cheetah moved he instinctfully grew closer to Kari, something that would usually make him blush. His side brushed against hers. His amber eyes peered at the adult cheetah respectfully, but he wanted to protect her just the same; new friends were worth keeping.

"I can speak for myself," he mumbling giving a quick glance to Kari, acknowledging hers and then looking down at his paws. He was scared and what was worse was that it was starting to show.

"I am Hasidi and I helped Kari get back to the lands she called home," he piped in, forgetting the fact she was nearly home when he had found her. He was really no threat to another creature, he was merely a bumbling idiot who seemed to get himself in a lot of sticky situations.

"Hyenas? Near here?" Laio's white ears tipped back against the red spotted fur, and she looked around with nervous energy before turning her head back towards the mismatched pair.

"And Hasidi, is it?" She tried not to make her gaze suspicious. She'd called lions friends in the past before, and she had no problem with it, but this was the land she had fought to keep for cheetahs... The lanky female sighed.

"Thanks for lookin' after Kari. Appreciate it, you hear."

Kari was a bit surprised by Hasidi's speaking up for himself, and caught between relief and anxiety over it. Had she not done well enough? What if what they said didn't make Laio less angry? She nodded along with Hasidi's words to confirm them again.

"N-not real near here," she murmured when Laio commented on the hyenas, "I guess I was pretty far out, and it was only one." She fell quiet after she explained this, hoping that it would make Laio a little less uneasy about the situation- even if it meant that she had left the territory herself. Kari could see the attempt to keep suspicion out of her gaze, and could appreciate it at the same time as she felt bad.

"I'm sorry, Laio," she cried suddenly. The cheetah didn't want to be in trouble, and she looked truly upset. Her seeming natural concern for how she was viewed, keeping others pleased and the obsessiveness that came with those things drove her apology, and another hesitant question. "C-can he stay?" she still seemed to be trying to look small. If Laio said he could stay, then she wouldn't worry- but if Laio said he couldn't, then she wouldn't go against that. She didn't know what she would do, but she would not rebel.

"Kari is the most amazing creature I've ever met!" a blush crept to his face and shown clearly through his cream colored cheeks. He really was sweet on her, and hoped one day he could express his newfound affection for her. He was so enthralled with her beauty, female cheetahs were much more lanky and sleek than a female lion. Then again, he was being biased the only real adult or adolescent females he had met were family.

"I would never let anything happen to you," he whispered to Kari after she finished speaking, he hoped slightly that she couldn't hear him, and that Laio could not either.

"Hyenas are just...creepy.." he shivered thinking of Mafa.

He looked to the older female a sort of plead in his eyes, he wanted to stay with Kari, wanted to make sure nothing ever hurt her again.

Laio narrowed her eyes slightly, before sighing minutely. The idiot lion boy was obviously completely and utterly smitten with Chua'kari. Did that even -work-? I mean, lions were all right and all, but they were stocky, and slow, and they smelled all wrong to her nose...

"As long as they ain't near here, that's a relief. You want to come to the tree, see if Colche or Tomo are gonna be good at patching you up? I mean... I don't think I'd be that great at it m'self, so...."

The tip of her tail twitched irritably, but then she shook her head, and smiled a little more truly.

"You can even bring along your adoring boyfriend too, for a while."
