I'm always on the lookout for good Doctor Who music videos on YouTube. All these are ones I particularly like because I think they are really well done or they just make me laugh. Tell me what you think!

Remember, I didn't make any of these. Praise goes to the people who did. They can all be found on my Doctor Who Playlist on YouTube which is here:

http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=C1132A6C1D5BA61A

But in case you don't want to use that here they are individually with brief descriptions:

What About Everything

This video features all the Doctors (old and new) with a really nice, gentle and cheery song by Carbon Leaf. It's the sorta vid that would make me go all tearful if it caught me at the right moment.

It's Alright

A fun Fourth Doctor fanvid with lots of running around and action and just the tiniest smidge of 4th Doctor/Sarah Jane romance - but not too soppy or anything.

Doctor Four Everybody

Another Fourth Doctor vid by the same person. A tongue-in-cheek funnier vid. I like the song too.

Run With Us

A 7th Doctor and Ace vid using the end theme to The Raccoons (which I used to watch and I think fits perfectly music-wise). The tune would go well with any Doctor but the slightly 80's sound fits Ace especially. And it's just a generally fun video to watch.

The Ten Doctors Trailer Version 4

This one is a slightly odd one. It's not a music video, it's actually a mock trailer for an episode (or possibly a movie?) featuring all ten of the Doctor's incarnations. The person who did this is obviously a wiz with Final Cut Pro or equivalent because they've quite cleverly blended clips of different Doctors with one another. It does go on a bit though (a long 7 minutes) and some of the blended video clips work better than others, as do some of the voice clips. But it's pretty impressive and I'd have LOVED to see the actual episode if there had ever been a chance of creating it.

Cold As Ice

The only William Hartnell tribute video I've found, I think. Certainly one in a minority. But very good - and the perfect song for him. Though at times it really does make him look quite evil...

The Time War

This is another one that isn't a music video but is very good. It's a series of clips imagining what might have happened during the Time Wars - in a vague sort of way. It also covers the Daleks and the Doctor's association with them. The video has good bits and slightly clumsy bits but I like it. It also has a few brief clips of the actress who plays Charlie in the audio dramas which I thought was good of them to include.

There are a few Time War videos on YouTube so if you're interested I recommend searching 'Doctor Who Time War' in the search bar.

A Hard Day's Night

The sequel to the Cold As Ice video this time featuring the Second Doctor Patrick Troughton. A humourous tribute to his era including all my fav villians and companions so I like it very much.

Doctor Who: The Hero

A more heroic tribute to the Doctor. This one mostly features the newer Doctors, especially Tennant, but the others get a fair show and I think the song fits perfectly with the fight scenes. I never used to like Holding Out For A Hero... but now I don't think it's so bad.

Ordinary Day

A nice little vid with a selection of different Doctors - though not all of them I'm afraid. I'm just glad to see them at all though. And it's a really positive, cheery video.

Monsters - Lots Of Them

Now this is a REALLY good video by a person with a lot of time on their hands! biggrin It's all done by animating toys! They have other good Doctor Who toy videos on YouTube but this is one of the most impressive - with the Ninth, Tenth and Fourth Doctors fighting hoards of evil plastic enemies.

Funnily enough though, I don't think that the music fits at all. I think they'd have been better with the Doctor Who theme or something much more cheery - Monster is far too grim, even though the lyrics fit. Doesn't really matter though, you'll be too busy watching all those toys dance around to care.

***

And that's all I've gathered so far! Well, the best of what I've gathered so far anyway.

I'd love to hear what other people think of them and if anyone has any others they've found - especially Classic/Multi Doctor ones though particularly good Tennant ones will pass xp - and especially ones people have done themselves would be great, so please post them. And if you made any of these videos then thank you very much! They rock.

Thanks for sharing these. I've gone through about half of them so far, and some are pretty cool. Of the ones I've seen, I think "What About Everything" has the best selection of clips (and you've got the wrong link, it should be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68JLFdu18yw ).

The Ten Doctors Trailer was also fun to watch. I especially loved the bit where Tegan says "Doctor, look at the screen. It's monstrous!", and the screen shows... Patrick Troughton! rofl

Eh... why does Tegan look so old towards the end of the video?

Ah yes, thanks. I've changed the link now. That's what comes of copying and pasting... you've got to remember to press 'copy'.

I dunno about the Tegan bit. I haven't seen a lot of her episodes but I think there was one where she got turned old. I shall go look it up sometime.

I'm not sure I find your sense of humour very humourous. stare

But if you are after funny then try the last one, it's probably the best for weird and wacky.

I enjoy love/adore/admire you too... razz

The last one about Monsters was great. Although admittedly I'm a sucker for any video that uses action figures.

*whisper* Just don't mention the heathens...

Found this one this morning. At first I thought 'Oh dear god not another Budweiser advert joke it's so old...' but when I watched it I actually laughed. So there you go. Try this one:

You should include your own video in this list because it's way cool, Roobarb! xd
PostPosted: Mon Sep 11, 2006 10:57 am

I can't include my own in my fav list... That would be far too self absorbed...

...it's here...

Actually I'm having real problems with YouTube at the moment. Every time I upload something the video plays really, really slowly. So slowly it looks like a slideshow not a movie. I can't tell if it just does this with my computer or with everyone. My old videos all run fine... confused

I want to make more Who vids but I don't want to upload stuff that's unwatchable.

Here's one I missed out:

Whether You Like It Or Not

It's one for all the Colin Baker fans. A tribute to his reign. Most of the video is quite good but the BEST bit is the little action sequence in the middle (when the music changes) that I just find hilarious. It has all of Colin's most violent moments, including Hairy's fav - strangling Peri!

I always wait til I get on a computer somewhere with a fast connection to watch videos because on my computer they can take an hour or more to load...if my computer doesn't just get bored & shut down the connection. Shows how much I loved that "Clocks" video that I would work at keeping the connection open for an hour & a half to see it!
If anybody sees that one sneak back online, please let me know--especially if it's someplace where I can actually download & keep it on my computer!

There are several Doctor Who/Clocks music videos on YouTube now. None of them seem to be the one you had on your profile however. It was very good. Can you remember the name of the user who uploaded it?

No, but it wasn't the same as the person who made it--Fiery Hands was the name of the creator of that video.

Here's a jolly little Third Doctor music vid. At the start I wasn't sure about it but it picks up at the end and the song is absolutely perfect for Jon Pertwee in every way possible:

If I may add... A Coat Of Many Colours is a wonderful MV. And a personal favorite.
And a Six tribute, of course. wink

xd Thanks! That video made me laugh so much. And they've made more Who videos too...

EDIT: Found this done by the same person. It's a really well edited and funny William Hartnell video with a fantastic montage of all his 'hartnellisms' near the end. You don't get many Hartnell videos but this one is GOOD:

(as are the 7th and Multi Doctor ones also by the same person!)
