It has perhaps been an hours walk when Jayoku noticed a trail she had never seen before. Turning to the right, she moved down the snow covered trail. The trees obscured most of the sunlight here but the brief rays of sun spattered across the trail was enough to keep her pressing forward.

Looking around she suddenly caught glimpse of something. Tilting her head she moved over towards it. It was small, and at first she thought it was a little puff, like cotton balls gathered together. But upon closer inspection she noticed it was in fact a tiny egg. Alarmed she picked up the egg; the poor thing would die out here in the snow. And yet as her mitt covered finger touched the shell, a chill seeped through the cloth and caused her to shiver. The egg was cold. Carefully she picked it up and cradled it in the crook of her arm...



Care of egg:

Keep it cold as possible until it hatches.

Leaning against the window pain, in her hands her newly bought GameBoy SP, Jayoku popped in the cartridge and started up the game. She was playing Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, but she soon found herself looking over at the little egg which sat in a icecream bucket still full of icecream.

The snow had melted around her house and she was afriad of letting the egg get too warm. Since it resinated cold she was pretty sure warmth wouldn't be too good for it. She knew ice would melt, but she also thought it too haphazardous to have a delicate egg perched on top of it. She ice cream it was. Vanilla flavored.

There was the occasional crevous from her spoon having found its way to the soft vinalla goodness. But she had kept herself tight, she didn't want to eat all of it. Then what would her eggy do?

With a sigh she quick saved the game and turned off the power. She then moved over to the egg and with the tip of her finger prodded it gently. Cold seeped into her flesh and ran up the length of her arm, she shivered.

"What should i call you?" Jayoku asked the egg,she smiled at the cute little puffs that surronded it. "I don't know what you will look like... or what sex you will be...." she ran her finger along the top of the shell again gently.

"Hmmmmmm how about....Chera for a girl, Cheram for a boy...." she stopped.....what if it was an it? With a laugh she decided not to get ahead of herself. She should wait until it hatched before going too far.

With a yawn she petted the egg once more and then picked up the tub of icecream slowly. She was afriad to put it in the freezer thinking it might actually kill it instead of keeping it cold. The fridge? it would slow down the melting process of the icecream.....

But it felt wrong to just put the egg in the fridge as if it was some house hold food item just waiting to be eaten. With a tilted grin she walked towards her bedroom and set the icecream pail on her desk.

Here...here it would stay. At least...until morning. She hoped the icecream didn't melt too fast.

"'Night little one...I hope to see what you are real soon." Witht hat she kissed the egg lightly her lips felt chilled and she ran her tongue over her lips to warm them back up. With that she then put on her pj's and crawled into her nice electric blakented bed

Dec/29/04

Jayoku yawned again. Looking after an egg was much harder than she thought. Wiping her forhead with a cloth she went back to cleaning the family room. She failed to noticed the soft glow behind her from the freezer.

Suddenly from within the freezer there was a crunching noise. it sounded like something had fallen over...Jayoku jumped to her feet. Her freezer had tendancies to randomly throw stuff out of the freezer when the door was open.

As she threw open the freezer door she found a bucket of ice come hurteling towards her face. Jumping backwards she avoided the bucket from hitting her, but the plastic wasn't strong enough to withstand the burst. It cracked and sent ice flying everywhere.

Chocking back a cry she kneeled down looking for any reminants of the egg. She was afriad to find it. She knew it couldn't of survived the fall and she was chocking back tears. She killed it, she knew she killed it...

In her preocupied frame of mind she didn't notice a small fluff ball fluttering around still somewhat inside the freezer. The door was still wide open. It looked down at the girl that was slowly picking up peices of ice and plastic. It then stretched its little angelic wings and fluttered them.

"puuuuuuu...." it sounded as a little stress mark appeared above its head as it tried to fly. It lifted off slowly and then it tried to move forward. It was succeding for the most part. Though unsteady it made its way tot he counter top and then landed. Breathing hard it then looked over the edge of the counter and down at the girl again. By this time she had stopped picking up the ice and was crying.

"Pu? pu pu puuuu..." the little noises went unoticed as the puff then flew up and then landed on the girls shoulder.

Jayoku shivered as her left shoulder went fairly cold. Wiping the tears from her cheeks and eyes she then went to brush off the hair on her shoulder.

Chera saw a hand come towards it. With a startled cry it was knocked off her shoulder and fell to the ground. Dizzy from impact you could almost see the stars circling around its head and little spirals for eyes.

Jayoku looked over when she heard the noise, she caught a glimpse of puff and then it was on the ground. Staring at it, she recongized the puffiness to be similar to the egg puffs.

Picking up the puff slowly she peered at it closely. Chera shook its body getting over the dizziness. Once it had stopped it looked up at Jayoku and smiled.

"Puuuuuu! pu pupupupu!" Its little wings fluttered in excitement to have finally been found.

Jayoku sad face brightened slowly as she realized the egg hadn't been smashed but had hatched. Tkaing a finger she stroked the puff slowly, Chera made a purring type of noise and then opened its mouth and bit her finger softly. It was like it was suckling.

Standing up slowly Jayoku moved closer to the counter and opened a container of shortbread cookies. Taking a circlular one with red sprinkles she then withdrew her finger and offered the little puff the cookie.
"pu?" it looked at it curiously and then sniffed it, then with one large bite ate half the cookie.
Jayoku sweatdropped, but giggled as the puff chewed what was in its mouth thoughtfully.
"Ah Chera you scared me so much." Jayoku said softly as she held the rest of the cookie to Chera. Chera gladly ate the rest.

Jan/3/04
Jayoku laid on her bed the blankets pulled up to her chest. She wore her tinkerbell pj's the ones she just got for christmas. The room was dark with the exception of the lamp beside her bed.

Miserable she lay there listening to her sister and mother fight. Even with her door closed she could hear them bicker. Chera was floating around Jayoku's head nervously it wasn't so sure what to do to make Jayoku feel better.

You could tell when Jayoku was upset about something if she played a game for an long period of time, and she nearly finished the Kingdom Hearts game and she did finish Devil May Cry. BUt she was running out of things to do. Drawing was being an inspiration to her nor was going on the computer. She wanted to see friends and yet all she wanted was to be alone.

Chera plopped herself down onto Jayokus forhead the puffs tiny little face peered into Jayoku's eyes full of concern. Picking the puff up she then placed the puff beside her bed in the make shift bed she had created out of paper origami stars.

"Chera why can't they just stop?" Jayoku whispered to the puff as she turned to look at it. Pulling her sheets closer around her body Jayoku curled into a fetal position. Chera blinked several times and fluttered up beside Jayokus face again.

"pu? pu pupupupu puuuu...." And though Jayoku didn't know what the little puff was saying she felt comforted by its voice.

"Chera...I am glad you came into my life. Your that faint glimmer of hope i can cling to in dark times." The puff looked all proud of itself as it heard Jayoku say this it then fluttered up to Jayoku's cheek and gave her a kiss.

With a faint giggle Jayoku picked up Chera and put the puff back in its bed. Raising her arm she then turned off the light.

"Good night Chera..."

The house was quiet now, and Jayoku's world would once again become whole.

The snow had melted, but the icy wind still chilled Jayoku to the bone. The forcast kept saying it would snow more...Jayoku dreaded they could be right. Chera bobbed around Jayoku's head now a lot more skilled in flying that the first time it had hatched.

Taking out a cookie Jayoku offered it to the puff who promptly sat on her shoulder and took a huge bite from it. it chewed happily and swallowed before taking another bite. more than two thirds of the cookie was now gone. It amazed jayoku how much this little thing could eat. It was very strange indeed, and as she ideled along home she had to wonder. Was this puff going to grow more?

In her mid she pictured the puff slowly growing in size and soon big enough to smush the house. Jayoku giggled at the thought. A huge Chera was still be dreadfully cute. But it wouldn't nearly be as much fun as having other people seeing it.

With a sigh she let Chera finish the remains of the cookie before she dusted the crumbs off her gloves.

"Pu!!! pupupupupupupu." Chera fluttered in front of Jayoku now full and happy and making a face similar to this -> Smiling at Chera Jayoku laughed and then took off running towards her house.

Caught off balance Chera twirled a bit in the air and then shook its body. It then made a noise of exclaimationa dn fluttered hurridly after its mother figure.

Chera floated along, it was awed by the sight. Lush grass hiding the shadows were still covered in frost. Chera floated along aimlessly for a while then tired finally sat down. It had only managed to get as far as the end of the deck. It had a sneaky suspision that it was gaining too much weight from eating all those snacks.

Chera's eyes opened wide and it sniffed the air. it could smell...candy!!!
Jumping up and down in excitment Chera fluttered towards the scent. It was getting stronger. It felt its tummy growl Chera was almost drooling as the scent became more powerful and nearly overbearing.

Suddenly Chera ran into something. falling down it shook its body and looked upwards. Their above it was two floating puffs. One black and another pure white.

"pu pupupupupu??" Chera excliamed in disbelief. The other two jelly puffs floated down to Chera with wide grins. They both had halos floating above their heads. Chera was in shock.

Suddenly a purple jelly puff flew into the white one causing them both to come tumbling down towards Chera. Chera didn't have time to move out of the way as was crushed by the two puffs.

Chera dizzy from having the air forced out of her tiny lungs was now having a wing chewed on by the purple jelly. Jumping back with a starteled cry Chera then hopped about trying to dislodge the puff. The AFK and OMG puff watched and then noticed the tiny leaf umbrella. Both tried to pick it up and then started fighting over it.

As the choas ensued Chera finally ran out of steam and stopped madly jumping around. The purple jelly puff was contently chewing on Chera's wing and the AFK and OMG puff were still fighting over the umbrella.

Frusterated Chera drug the purple puff over to the AFK and OMG and snatched the umbrella from them.

"PU PUPUPUPUPUPUPUUUUU PUPUPU!!!!" it excliamed it then shook off the purple puff and floated back towards the house. The three jelly puffs watched Chera leave and then decided to follow it home.

Chera was not use to sleeping with others. Awoken by getting an wing in the face Chera made a small exclamation as she noticed that she was surronding by jelly puffs. Grumbling to itself it squirmed from the pile and breathed a sigh of relief.

What the heck? why are these freeloaders still here??? It wondered to itself and with a hurrumph floated over to Jayoku bed and setteled down on the pillow beside its mothers head.

Picking up some of the hair that was floating on the pillow case Chera used it as a blanket and setteled down. But it just couldn't sleep. Infuriated by the other puffs it couldn't help but be jealous.

Now how was it special to its mother?? Chera wasn't aware of others like itself existing as well. It made her somewhat relieved that it wasn't alone in the world but at the same time greatly annoyed.
Why did they have to follow me home??? it grumbeled as is snuggeled deeper into hair.

Even if i could be different..even just slightly...then could mother love me more? Would she think i am more special than those other puffs? So far the new puffs have been demanding more of Jayoku's time acting like little children and getting into trouble. Chera had been good but ignored since Jayoku had only a moments chance to give any attention to her.

With a frusterated little squeak Chera tried to think of something that would cause her to be special. opening its eyes if saw something glowing in front ot it and suddenly a snow flake appeared. All cyrstalnie and beautiful it then floated down and landed on the pillow.

Well that was new...
