I'm a vegetarian myself, but I think being a human carnivore is absolutely natural. Nature is nature.

Not really. Hypocritical would be someone saying : I'm a vegetarian and I don't cause any animal deaths! Even though many animals are shot, trapped, hunted and poisoned to protect crops- not to mention those that get killed by combine harvesters.

I'm not a vegetarian. I love animals. I am also aware of and accept that for life to exist, something else must die-regardless of diet.

Essentially what I was going to say.

Humans are naturally omnivores, so I am not entirely against us eating meat. I am just picky about what meats I eat....depending on how and when they were killed. After watching how cruel some animals are to each other, I don't feel so bad. Watching dolphins toss porpoises out of the water, eventually killing them, for no reason and seeing a hippo eat a zebra carcass kind of puts things in perspective. o.o

Now, if I could healthily and happily be a vegetarian, I'd do it. I do have a high tolerance for many vegetarian foods, but not enough to stop eating meat. I get sick easily as it is. In fact, one of my relatives is vegetarian, but undergoing some serious medical/health issues, and the doctors essentially told her that she needs to eat meat. She hates it because it makes her stomach upset (and because she's an animal lover), but she has to if she wants to get over this.

And PETA is far too radical, even psychotic in some ways, for my taste. I don't usually trust their motives at all.

Generally takes me a bit longer than a few seconds to eat something.
But yes, I am willing to and do kill. I have more extensive reasons than merely for taste though.

1. They most certainly can. Humans are quite capable of catching small game and quite capable of killing it with their hands. In a group they can take down larger game by using team work and tools- we evolved using tools you know so don't try to say that using tools is unatural. Using tools is natural for a human and we are not the only species that does so. Should non human primates stop eating termites because they use sticks to get them out of their nests? Of course not.

2. Cats are obligate carnivores. Humans are omnivores. Not carnivores or herbivores.
Fact is, that if humans weren't meant to eat meat we wouldn't be able to digest it in the first place. We would not derive nutrition from it just as a ferret doesn't derive nutrition from plants and a rabbit doesn't get nutrition from flesh.
However, our digestive systems do share similarities with oth omnivorous species such as pigs and we are capable of processing bothe plant and animal proteins. That speaks for itself IMO.

3. Our teeth seem to be quite good at biting through meat- I've certainly never struggled. Not all animals that eat flesh have evolved long canine teeth. Rats have meat in their diet and they have the typical rodent teeth. Pigs don't have canines and they eat meat.
