Although he was the drowsiest of the batch, at the moment, Tota'keke was wide awake (for once) and he had wandered off and away from his mother and siblings. His older siblings drove him nuts (not that he'd admit that aloud to his sister), but he decided that it was the way it was with the older ones. He, quite frankly, liked being the youngest (after all, he was treated better; or at least, he thought he was).
By the time Tota'keke came out of his thoughts, he realized that he had wandered quite a ways from the cave. He blinked lime-green eyes, trying to take in his surroundings. Just... where in the world was he? He didn't have the best sense of direction... ack, this was just like last time! When he had Moyo, that is. Well, if he had been a bit more awake and less silly, he would've used his nose to track his own scent back toward where he came from. (Of course, Tota'keke was still too drowsy to really think.)
As it was, he soon became bored. What was there to do around here? Nothing, from the looks of it. His mind blank (facial expression showing complete signs of it), he found a small boulder he could climb up on, and lounged on it, promptly falling asleep. Again. If someone saw him, they could just wake him up. Completely uncaring (either that, or he was oblivious) of the dangers that a cub like him could encounter, he eyed his surroundings one last time and then officially shut out the blooming world.

Edit:
A young cub sat in the shade of a smallish tree. Its branches hung low, it was naked of leaves and had scratch marks running into the bark. The young cub glared up into the high branches, gritting her teeth. Why was this so difficult? She’d seen so many other animals lounging around in them before why couldn’t she? Lowering herself yet again she lowered the front of her body swaying her rump side to side, before springing up, unsheathing her tiny claws, frantically digging them into the bark of the tree. Slowly she felt herself lose grip and slide down to the floor, claw marks left behind. The young one growled angrily, why couldn’t she do this? She continued this again and again slowly losing strength in each vain attempted. Iola’s plush ears flatten against her head as her slender tail flicked back and forth. She tossed her head and stomped off not wanting to look at the object of her misery any longer. But at the back of her mind she knew she’d be back there in no time….trying to climb the horrid thing. The cub hung her head as she walked feeling abit sorry for herself. She knew the real reason why she is so obsessed with climbing that tree…it gives her something to do. On the lonely days in the savanna. She’d been in this area for awhile now and knew a watering hole not far from the tree so she decided to pad off in that direction, but as she walked a wind blew from the west carrying a scent. The females eyes narrowed, someone was close by. And although she stuck out in the grasses with her purple pelt she knew good and well how to hide. She sunk low into the grasses inching toward where the smell was coming from. She then noticed a rock and atop a cub just like herself. She sighed a breath of relief It’s nothing… she thought before a sly grin spread across her maw. This would make for some great practice hunting!

He rolled over, a slight snore coming from his maw, when suddenly, he felt nothing but air before the soft earth slammed against his back. Startled out of his nap, he snorted a bit from the dirt that had somehow gotten up his nose. What happened? Blinking blearily, wondering how on earth he had wandered away from the cave, he glanced around. Memory soon returned to him, however; he had woken, wandered from his home, saw this boulder, fell asleep... and had, apparently, rolled over and fallen off the boulder.
Tota'keke narrowed his eyes at the boulder, as if it was its fault for not moving when he had rolled over. Huffing, now thoroughly awake and slightly grumpy because he had been so rudely awakened, he sniffed the air. Very vaguely, he could smell his own scent, followed by the usual outside world scents, and then... a scent that didn't belong. He moved into a sitting position then, head tilted to the side, trying to figure out why that particular scent didn't belong. Green eyes widened at the prospect that another was here; was he being stalked!? Nearly whining for fright, he stood stiffly, eyes wide as his nose flared, trying to track down his "stalker".
"Who are you?" he asked, trying to sound brave, though he was slightly quivering; the poor thing. "Tota'keke not 'fraid! Come out!" he said, trying to sound demanding. Naturally, his instinct to survive outweighed some part of his sense (not that he had much to begin with...) and he began to growl softly, if anything, to make himself feel safer. His mother and siblings would probably be too far off to hear him, so it was up to himself to watch carefully.

Iola snickered holding a paw to her mouth upon watching the young male fall to the ground. This guy was funny. Iola jolted at his tone of voice. She sank lower into the grass eyes widening. M-Maybe I should go…he sure does sound angry. She thought to herself keeping her eyes on him. When she noticed something…the male, he was shaking like a leave! It was a bluff. And she almost fell for it! Smirking she perked her ears forward, cerulean eyes locking on the form of the cub. Her body pressed against the ground she lowered her head onto her forepaws sitting perfectly still. She just needed to wait. Until the prefect moment. She crept forward pausing momentarily when he stopped talking. It was quite for a moment until he began growling, that should have been enough noise. Closing in Iola was beginning to get careless and stepped on a twig, it crunching under her paw. She looked down briefly and gonking at the fact she made herself known. Without a moment more of hesitation the cub lunged forward in attempt to tackle the cub. She gave a faint roar as she did so.

At the sound of a crunched twig, he stopped growling and looked up, expecting to see a giant lion, only to be startled to see a female cub launching herself at him. With a faint cry of surprise, he tried to scramble out of the way.
No luck. His legs weren't yet long enough to give him the edge of making a quicker getaway, and he knew the young lioness was about to flop on top of him. "Aaah, what you doin'!?" he said, waiting to feel the weight of another atop of him.
He had never been pounced before, so this was a new experience. What was this other cub trying to pull? "Tota'keke gives!" he finally said, giving up. He whimpered slightly.

Iola smirked holing herself up over the body of the other. “Boo…” She whispered into his ear. Feeling proud of the fact that this ‘hunt’ was done as skillfully as it was, she knew she’d have to be abit more careful of where she’s stepping next time. What if she was bug hunting can she pulled that? No lunch for Iola that’s what…
She side stepped and watched the cowering form of the male. It was amusing. She should do this more often. The cub smiled and dropped down into another pouncing position. She pulled back her lips to expose newly grown baby teeth. Rising a signal paw batting at his direction she growled. “My prey…don’t you look tasty this fine evening!” (it’s the morning xD) "It to bad your so small...I'm just going to have to eat you all up. Muahahaha!" The cub tossed her head as she laughed maniacally. Forgetting for a moment that she was the same size as the other, she thought she was a full grown lioness. She was still playing, not really thinking of eating the other. Hoping he’d fallow suit and shoot her with a come back.

He could only gape at the other. She was the first one of his age he'd ever met (besides his siblings), and all he could do was stare and gape. She was a weird one. He wasn't scared anymore, having finally made some sense out of his head that this cub was the same size as him, therefore, no threat. He eyed her, and sighed to himself. "Boo?" he said back, unsure.
He perked up a bit though, seeing her playful nature. Grinning, showing off his own newly grown fangs, he growled back. "I no prey!" And did she just say evening? "You no can eat Tota! You same size!" Compared to the female, his language was quite rough, but understandable. Young still, he had a long way to go before he could learn the language fluently and smoothly. "Tota not small!" he finally said, and then ran toward her, fully intended on a tackle.
This female had been unexpected, but at least he had something to do now. He liked sleeping well enough, but sometimes, it was better to be active. "I no prey! Tota show you who prey is!" He doubted the lioness cub could eat him (not that he'd ever heard of other lions and lionesses eating their kind before; which he hadn't), but he was cautious anyway.

“Yes…boo.” She replied with a nod. Iola knew she made up that word in a spur of the moment but the boy didn’t need to know that. “You? Not prey?” Iola jeered, “Then what am I supposed to eat, huh?“ She then heard the scamper of feet against the ground. Iola was surprised. The male he was running towards her. She didn’t expected the male to charge her like he did. She froze, eyes widening and flinched turning her neck and holding her arm over her head instinctively.

With a joyful growl, Tota'keke landed atop (against?) the girl. Laughing, he rolled off. "That for scaring Tota'keke!" Blunt he was, and he didn't care that he had admitted that he was scared. As far as he was concerned, he was still "ickle", so that would suffice as a reason until he was older.
"What your name?" he questioned, backing off a bit to blink at her. "Tota'keke's name is Tota'keke!" he said cheerfully, completely oblivious to his surroundings. Or at least, he was at the moment. Had he been watching more carefully, he'd have seen the giant deer behind him. "Tota no know what you can eat," he replied solemnly.

Iola fell backwards onto her back, pinned momentarily under the cub before he rolled off. “For scaring you…?” The girl questioned. “I’m so sorry…baby.” She got up onto her paws and began to circle the cub as she talked. “To-tee’keeekkkkeee?” She tried to pronounce, “That’s a nice name I guess….”
“My name you ask? ” She asked clawing her way up, she climbed onto the rock the boy was sleeping afew minutes ago, she held her head high, puffing her chest. Beaming she called down to him. “My name? My name is Iola! Iola! Iola! Iola!” Boy, did she love how that word sounded. She roared into the sky before briefly looking down at him smirking. But the cub’s smile soon faded, her pupils contracting. “B-B-behind y-y-you!” She stammered, ears flattening to the sides to her head. Iola braced the rock, trying desperately to dig her claws into them. A huge thing was standing behind the other cub. And she couldn’t think, she stood still like a deer would in front of a truck in a highway. “Momma…” She managed to mutter as she stared up into the towering animal that stood before her.

He smiled up at her. "You weird. But okay. Iola!" he repeated her name, and then frowned at her pronouciation of his name. "No, no! It be TOH-TAH-KAY-KAY!" he said, loudly and slowly. He returned to grinning. "Iola a nice name, too."
As he listened to her roar her name a little while from the top of the rock he had been sleeping on earlier, the sudden fade in her voice and then later becoming a stutter caused him to turn around. "Hm... Nyaaaaaaaaaaaah!" he shouted, startled. "Go 'way!" he growled, shivering. This thing... it was huge!
He could only stare at the giant dear, growling softly in warning. The creature took them to be easily ignored, since the two cubs were no match for a huge buck like him. It continued to graze, ignoring the warnings of the young cub. Tota glanced back to Iola. "N-Not dangerous..." he stuttered, although he still shivered.

Iola slid off the rock, still abit stunned at what just happened. The cub was slightly embarrassed at how she over reacted over the what-ever-it was. She padded up to the other cub. “Sooo…you wanna HUNT?” She asked as she crouches down and goes back to her playing style, with bared teeth and mock-growls. “Bugs are always fun…” She purred, waving her tail to and throw. Just behind Tota a bug lands into the ground. Iola pushes past the boy leaping toward the bug. “Rrrah!” She lands on the bug hearing it buzz inside her claws, she opens his paws to reveal the insect, buzzing; she grins and turns towards Tova dangling the bug just in front of his face. “Ya want it? I mean…we can share.” She asked smiling, she wanted to share her food. And she was abit hungry, so surely the other had to be also. “And then maybe we can play tag, and-and stalk some prey, and climb a tree--” Iola’s voice trailed off, the tree…how could she have forgotten? She could always do it another day, it wasn’t everyday she met a cub to play with. "So what do you wanna do, huh?"

Obviously, the giant deer was going to leave the two cubs alone, and so Tota returned his attention to the interestingly weird female cub in front of him. "Hunt?" he questioned, puzzled. He was still very young, and he hadn't been out much, so he didn't know a lot. He watched her pounce on a buy, and made a funny face. "Why eat bug? It taste good?"
He really couldn't understand Iola's logic (not that he had any particular sense of logic, either) and when she suggested they share (which he silently puzzled over), he only nodded. This cub was obviously older than him, seeing as her language was by far smoother and stronger. "Not understand 'share', but okay. Bug good?" he asked, flicking his tail.
Curiously, he watched her facial expressions fade at the mention of climbing a tree. "Climb tree? Hard, hard." He made an annoyed face. "Maybe two help other?" he suggested. "Climb tree hard. Verra hard by self." He had given up climbing trees a long while ago, and yet, here was this cub who sounded like she didn't want to give up.
If she wasn't going to, then neither was he. "Climb tree!" he exclaimed to her final question.

Iola could see the boy wasn’t going to help himself to the bug. So she ate it herself, holding the bug just over her mouth, and snapping her mouth shut when it fell in. She chewing on it afew times a crunching sound coming from her mouth. Boy, was that one tasty. Just as she chewed down on it, an explosion of juices came flowed threw her mouth. Finally, but reluctantly she swallowed and answered the boy, “Yes…bugs are good. Very yummy.” She rubbed her paw against her tummy as she said so. Iola’s ears perked at the sudden burst of energy the cub had. She rose her brows, “You wanna help me….?” she asked softly. She plopped down onto the ground staring at her claws. “Maybe your right…one isn’t enough! But two! Two, and then we got something‘!” She jolted up onto her feet and circled around looking back at him for a moment she lightly baps on the nose with the tuft of her tail, “I’ll show you the way.” She remarked with a smirk. She then turned tail, running off into the tall grass of the savanna. She called back toward him. “Come on! Hurry up!” The rustle in the grass she was making, could have easily had it for the young male to fallow. Finally afew minutes later the cub stopped in front of the tree, her claw marks still dug into the bark, reminding her of what her was unable to accomplish. But no…she will be able to. Now that she has someone to help her. Iola looked back into the tall grass huffing childishly. “What’s taking him so long?!” She growled, her slender tail flicked back and forth in irritation.

He was startled, disgusted, and fascinated all at once as he watched Iola eat up the bug in one small gulp and a few chews. Trying not to look slightly ill from watching her do that, he blinked as she suddenly perked up at his mention of helping her to climb trees. "Yes, wanna help," he agreed.
Just as suddenly, Iola jumped up, demanding him to follow her, and he slowly trailed after. Okay, so he knew she was eager and a bit impatient, but what was the fun in listening to her try to bully him? Okay, she wasn't bullying him, but he felt that way, a little. Finally, he broke free of the brush and stared up at the tree she was in front of.
"So high!" he gasped, but eager now. "Iola ready?" he asked, thinking of an idea that might help her to succeed in climbing the tree. He himself didn't really want to climb it, but he did want to help his new friend.
