The day was beautiful just like almost every other day here at the oasis. Malika had been around almost the entire oasis with her daily travels around it. She had not met everyone though even though she had been around the oasis. So today the pale female was looking forward to either meeting someone new or even just seeing those that she met before.

Walking along the lioness found herself near the kings chambers. Her memory then flashed to when she had met Afritti and now she wondered if she'd see anyone else besides the princess and the king.

The day was new and Koka was just rousing from her slumber. The furs surrounding her form were almost enough to lull her back to sleep, but the persistance of the suns rays peeking through rotted holes finally got the young princess up and moving. Stretching out her limbs Koka sighed contently, claws careful not to cause damage to Nyek's collection of furs.

It appeared to be another gorgeous day out which meant another day she could dedicate to training. Koka had to admit, she was getting closer and closer to her goal. She -would- prove to Nyek that she was powerful and to do that she needed to reach the top of that pillar. One day soon she'd do it.

Slipping out of the hut which Nyek called home Koka squinted her eyes before they adjusted to the brightness. One last stretch of her front legs and she set off across the dusty and worn cobblestone that the humans had at one time laid into the earth. Calloused pads from the extensive heat of the desert picked up the odd sensation of walking over such a creation. How odd everything was when compared to her original home something she did quite often. It wasn't homesickness but a longing to be back where her heart still was.

As she traveled along the stone pathway, Koka caught sight of a lioness. Her actions halted as a cruel smile slipped onto her features effortlessly. Could she have been lucky enough to run into one of the slaves that Nyek kept around? Oh what fun she could have if that was the truth! Raising her head in superior way, Koka strutted forward towards the unfamiliar lion. "Who are you?" She asked coldly as violet eyes surveyed the lioness.

Malika didn't notice the other until they called her and she turned her head to see who it was before turning completely. "Hello!" The white lioness spoke cheerfully to the other.

"Who am I? My name is Malika'eusi, and may I ask who you are?"The lioness tilted her head slightly curious to know at least a little of the other. It was most likely the sweet nature she had to her that made her open to everyone even if she knew nothing about them

Koka's brow went up at the sickly sweet tone and nature of this lioness. It was enough to make Koka gag. What could Nyek possibly get out of keeping such a...eh..cheerful lioness around? She didn't even look like she could handle a little scrap let alone be part of a war. Oh well, maybe she could at least be some entertainment. Kiunguza was beginning to bore Koka already so this new lioness might prove to have some purpose.

"Koka...though from you I'd prefer your Highness." Koka looked at Malika with a smirk. "So what are you doing around Nyek's den? Certainly he doesn't allow a lioness of your stature to enter his home." She looked at Malika critically as the tip of her tail flicked about lazily by her hind paws.

"I was actually hoping to find someone, and did not realize I was near the kings chambers until just moments ago when you called to me." Malika replied in her soft tone of voice, this was always how she spoke and had nothing to do with who she was speaking to. "I do believe that Lord Nyek would not have a problem with me being here as long as I do not cause harm to any of his belongings."

She then paused before saying "I do have to say that it is an honor Princess Koka, but I must ask, and hope that I am not being rude, are you a daughter of Lord Nyek or of a king of another pride who decided to join my lord?"

Koka believed that this lioness could be daft enough to not realize where she was. As if the place didn't reek enough of Nyek, there was enough physical signs to show that this Malika was near her Lord's adobe. With a sigh, Koka begin to wonder who else Nyek had roaming around these lands. She hoped there weren't any more of these happy-go-lucky lions around. She wasn't sure how much she could take.

"No, I am not Nyek's daughter, but the princess and future queen of the Firekin." She grinned. "I am sure you've heard of the Firekin." Koka was very much under the influence that everyone knew about the Firekin pride. Everyone she had met so far knew of the prides strength and reputation which was something the young princess was quite proud about.

Malika was perhaps the only one that did not see Nyek for what he really was, she did not realize that many had already left yet more had come in return. The only reason she did not know where she was heading was because she was lost in thought and wasn't paying much attention to what was in front of her.

"I have heard of them, yet sadly I know very little." Malika's ears drooped a bit but where normal as she hid her disappointment in not knowing more about the others orginal home. "I then have to say that if there is anything I can do for you I'd be more than happy to help the princess of the Firekin."

"Really?" Koka looked at her with surprise before her face changed back to it's usual cruel smirk. "Just remember that the Firekin are not lions you want to mess with, but I'll happily accept your offer. I'll make sure to call for you when needed." She rounded upon Malika before slowly heading in the direction of the training grounds. Not really caring if the lioness followed or not. If Malika got in her way then Koka would just take care of her. Koka had come to the conclusion that Malika couldn't even handle a young cub attacking her let alone get involved in a scrap with another lioness. How pathetic. She'd certainly have to ask Nyek about this one.

Malika decided to follow just to see what the other was doing. "May I ask what you are going to do?" It was a natural thing for her and even if she couldn't do well in a fight, that wouldn't mean she would not try if she had to. One of the reasons she followed was because she did not want to be left alone not this early in their meeting she atleast wanted to know more of the other a little more.

Koka glanced over her shoulder at Malika. "You are quite the nosey one." Instead of answering the other's question Koka continued on her way to the training grounds. The field which usually was home to several herds of prey were currently depraived of such company. Apparently it was still far too early for the the vegetation eaters. Not that it bothered Koka much, she never dealt with the grazers. At most she'd watch some of the older lionesses rally and take down the beasts, otherwise she didn't deal with the creatures.

The travel across the plains was quiet, on Koka's half. She didn't say mucho f anything to Malika though the lionesses prescence was beginning to get on the General-in-training's nerves. What did she want?! Why wouldn't she leave her alone!? Such an annoyance.

Finally the trees came into view and Koka slipped into the dark forest. The walk to the training grounds seemed to get shorter and shorter, not that Koka minded, but today it seemed to press around her and felt unending. She assumed it was the company she had. Finally when she was near turning around and just slashing her claws at Malika the training grounds came in sight. Figuring it better to just take her frustrations out here then on Nyek's supposed army members, Koka darted off towards the pillars that stood in front of her. The stones perched upon each pillar reflected the sunlight and seemed to mock the young princess who had yet been unable to reach their summits.

Running from such a distance as the tree line Koka felt that she might just reach the top of one of the smaller stone standings. Upon reaching it's base, Koka's muscles worked like springs and shot her upwards. The peak was there! Just there in reach! She would make it this time and...NO! Koka stopped short of the peak, her claws grinding against the stone as she tried to scramble up the verticle structure only to begint o slide downwards. Out of frustration she pushed away from the side and landed on the ground with a jolt. A small roar of anger escaped her while she paced around the pillar she had just attempted to climb, her mind currently away from the nuscience that was Malika not far off.

Malika's ears drooped once again. She didn't mean to be nosey she just wanted to get to know the other better. She watched from a distance doing her best not to be a bother to the other. The older lioness was facianated by how hard the young firekin princess was working just to reach that top.

The white lioness with green markings could tell that this wasn't a game yet she still watched trying to remain unnoticed. However she wasn't sure how well her white pelt would blend with her surroundings. "Amazing..."She mutter almost unadiable

[Wrapping it up if that's okay]

After possibly hours of watching the black lioness work on getting to the top Malika found that it was best for her to leave. Perhaps another day she would have the chance to talk to the female and know her a bit better.

Then again maybe not. After all she would not want to interupt the other when they were busy training. Still she was amazed by the sheer will that Koka had.
