Uumi and Sye have finally made their way home with Kenai and Taabu, and surprise! Not only are Taabu and Kenai much bigger, but Sye is pregnant.

It was in comfort that Syeira rested upon the large rock, the sun casting down shades of warmth in the form of the sun's rays, relaxing a body that had tensed itself long ago at the realization of many things.

For starters, her baby was no longer a baby, but a lion nearly old enough to start a family of his own. Not only that, her brother had taken swings at him - and he would now wear those scars proudly through out the lands, only furthering the knowledge that Denahi was a disgrace.

That.. and there was a certain piece of knowledge she had only recently acquired - knowledge she had avoided relaying to Uumi thus far.

With a sigh, Syeira rolled on her side, sighing softly at the stomach she knew any good mother could pick out - but most males could not. After all, it had been a long journey from the firekin borders to the pridelands, the time they spent there, and back all the way home again. She kne she was well into this now.

And Uumi probably needed to be told before it became very obvious - otherwise, he would be upset with her. But she had seen the look on his face when he realized he had a son the first time, what would he do now?

She shut her eyes with a gentle sigh, trying to chase away her thoughts with gentle day dreams

Uumi strolled through the lands slowly, gracefully. His thoughts were drifting from one topic to the next. Ari wasn't in the lands, and for some reason he missed her slightly. Asi was in the lands, and that bugged him. He wished they would just switch damn places, so that the big lumox was gone. Denahi wasn't in the lands either, predictably. He must be living in the pridelands, or something. He'd better watch out, fighting his son like that. Or, well.. those marks were from Denahi. Uumi slowly wondered if the ugly male looked any worse off? He hoped so.

His tail flicked and his nostrils flared. Where he would normally avoid his mate he began to head, smelling her on the air. He moved slowly along, and then quickened his pace. He lept onto the same rock as she, sitting up proudly and tall. "What are you up to, Sye?" Maybe he was just proving to himself he could just go and chat now, if he wanted to.

Syeira had smelled Uumi on the air long before he arrived, but hadn't moved an inch. She had lain there, sunning, comfortable with her laziness - a trait she didn't often show. Of course, she had through the course of being pregnant with Taabu, but with Uumi not being around for that, he most certainly wouldn't know.

At his words, she smiled, weakly opening her lazy lids and peering up with those ever sharp pools of ice, "Nothing, just laying around, being lazy and the like." She smiled, pushing herself up into a more sphinxish position - tail flickering behind her, "I suppose I just have.. a lot on my mind."

Yes, well, the tone that suggested Uumi didn't know something was there, but not harshly like she would have used it when they were cubs.

Uumi's ears flickered slightly. Sye being lazy? That was interesting. "Like what? Have you asked your i-... your father where Ari is off to?" He said slowly, keeping his tone even. He eyed Sye for a moment, eyes very slightly narrowed as if he was trying to figure out a puzzle.

What was on her mind?

She shrugged slowly as she glanced back up towards him, "No, I've not asked Dad why. I haven't spent a lot of time around him, not lately anyway, not since we've been home. Just haven't been in the mood," mostly because the last time that her dad found out that she had Uumi's child - he had wanted to slaughter him. No sense in letting the slow git figure out that she was pregnant again.

"I.." she frowned, hesitatin, number one sign that something was wrong.

She sat up, slowly, glancing away, towards the horizon, "Uumi, I'm pregnant again." Yeah, there, it was out now - let him act how he wanted.

Ah, maybe she was seeing the the right of things. Hanging around Asi was stupid! it killed brain cells, and all that! And then his eyes widened. Again... was it a joke? His mouth was slightly open, and then slowly closed as his eyes narrowed. "Sye jokes like that do not am..." He trailed off. Or right. Right before they got to the pridelands.

He eyed her stomach a moment and then huffed, looking to the sky. Well if this was what chatting brought! "...For how long have you been?"

Syeira huffed as she heard his words. Did she think this was her own fault? She certainly couldn't make a baby on her own! No more than she could have made Taabu on her own the first time around. But what was arguing and yelling at him going to accomplish when he was already seemingly in a bad mood about becoming a father of more little scoundrels?

"I don't know, you can calculate it up as well as I can," she muttered, irritated slightly that he was asking her such a ridiculous question. However, she soon calmed down and glanced back to him with a frown on her face, "It obviously had to be after we rean into your sister, and considering we had to go to the pridelands, how long we stayed there, and how long it took to get back - I'm probably well along with it now."

She flicked her tail, frowning as she lay her head down, near his own paws as she stretched out, "I realized right before we got home." So now he knew, what else was to be done?

His tail gave an irritated flick and he shook his head slightly. Damn, and they were coming soon? Uumi didn't know if he could handle that. Well, he'd have to obviously. As her lead rested near his paws he shifted a little and slowly layed down, very gently laying his head on her side, on her tummy. He made sure not to put weight on it, though.

What was he doing? Was he listening to her insides?

His tail flicked again and he shut his eyes slowly. He didn't want a bigger family. He'd finally accepted the nice, small one he'd gotten. That he had stuck himself with. Well who knew, maybe Sye would only have one or two? That thought made him feel better. "I'm sorry." He said after a minute, though it sort of sounded rediculous. I'm sorry for enjoying some pleasures with you, I'm sorry for finally acccepting you really as my mate and as someone I treasure? I'm sorry for getting out son back with you?

Uumi really needed conversational lessons.

Syeira simply snorted as she heard his words, letting her eyes close gently as she pondered over the idea. Well, Uumi certainly couldn't leave - she wouldn't allow it even if he wanted to, and he seemed to have gotten used to his family finally, a few more wouldn't take that long - now would it? Especially since he would have a hand in raising them.

"Don't say you're sorry, Uumi, it's part of life. I suppose, on some level, I always wanted more cubs - and when better when the first is nearly grown?" Oh yes, how would he feel if he knew she wanted these babies?

For a minute he wondered if this was all some sort of elaberate, retarded plan. He sure hoped not. How could Sye want more cubs so much while he did not want them at all? It was hard enough being a part of Taabu's life, now how many lives did he have to be a part of?

"Alright." He said slowly.

Syeira took a long yawn, her tail flickering as she let her eyes slowly drift shut. She smirked as she heard his words, wondering if she could lighten his mood at all; "Don't worry, Uumi, I won't let the kids beat you up." Oh, he might not even find that amusing - but if you thought about it, six kids that reach juvenile stage all at once really could be too much for our favorite grumpy, red prince.

He snorted. "And if they try it I'll high-tail it out of here." He murmered, not kidding at all. His tail gave a little flick and he let his gaze wonder. Oh! The 'joys' of family.

---TimeSkip---

It had been quite a few weeks that Syeira had meandered on with her pregnancy, her stomach swollen to a rather giant proportion. She knew early on the she was due for many cubs this time around, for her first pregnancy had left her much smaller in this late stage of the game.

Though, as she lay there outside the den she had found Uumi and herself - a den they would need to raise a growing family - she knew that she was not yet ready to bear the children this time.

But they were coming.

Her head was rested on the grass around her, a gentle bed of emerald blades cushioning her. She sighed as another wave of pain pulsed through her form - resisting the urge to curl herself up into a little ball. She could not bear children in a crumpled form. She took a deep breath, and held it, waiting for the contraction to pass.

Would Uumi come to her aid, or would she do this alone, since she had no hope for her mother's guidance this time around?

Well if Uumi had honestly known Sye was about to give birth he would have avoided her at all costs, as crumy as that was. He was dragging back a very young gazelle, it had taken him most of the day to get it back toward where Sye had made 'their' home. But he'd done it, and he was proud of doing it. Too bad he had the worst timing ever.
