A new day and a new adventure!
This was what was ringing through the adolescent's mind as he trotted through the trees.

Remiel was a free spirit and one who enjoyed life to it's fullest. However since the dissapearance of his three siblings and his mother he had become subdued. In fact if it wasn't for his father being there Rem wasn't sure what would have happened to him.

Trying not to think about that he simply walked through the forest, taking the time to familiarise himself with the land. This was going to be his new home now and there was no way he was going to let anyone down. Especially Phib!

Apparently the alpha had become someone who Remiel truly admired despite the fact he hardly knew him. Either way this new adolescent was eager to prove himself worthy.

He paused by a clump of flowers and stood there snuffling at them, eyes watching the lazy flight of a small butterfly.

Oooooo~ He leapt forwards, jaws clipping together as he tried to catch the flying insect, only to miss and watch the winged beauty flutter a corkscrew up into the air.

Trinity stirred slightly in her "den", which was more like a hole dug into the side of a rise of land. The sun was up, warming the land, but the pup was still asleep. After staying up late into the night, exploring this new territory, she seemed to be dead to the world as her chest rose and fall with each steady breath she took.
Her paws twitched as though she were chasing something. A series of soft whimpers escaped her lips and finally she jolted awake, her golden eyes wide. What a dream that had been! She had been so close to catching the rabbit... snorting, she rose to her paws, shaking herself off.

The pup was growing, soon to be considered an adolescent, and her floppy ears perked as she peered outside of her makeshift home. All the familiar scents from the previous night were still there, but there was something new there - something she couldn't quite put her paw on, until she saw him.

 Another wolf?

A grin crossed her lips and she flicked her tail, padding out of her den. "Hey!" she called, not realizing that she was trespassing on someone else's territory. The female had grown up on her own, not learning about the laws of the land. Because of this, she was carefree - and careless. She had no concept of territory or packs; she also assumed that everyone was as friendly as she was.

Her eyes were bright as she watched the male, waiting for an answer.

(( Oh my gawds, your girl is beautiful ;o; *adores natural colorued wolves* ))Luckily enough Remiel was friendly and since he was new he had no idea whether she was a pack member or not.
He was quite surprised to see her however and bounced back away from the butterfly as if he had been doing something wrong. Though a second later his eyes grew bright and cheerful and his tail started to wag fiercely. A pup meant a new friend, and a new friend spelt fun - something which Remiel could quite go for! So clearing his throat he stepped forwards and prepared to remember his manners.

Hello! He spoke, his voice full of happiness at seeing someone new. Where did you come from? Were you playing a secret game of hide and seek? He bounded towards her on long, gangly legs, pausing to stare curiously at her ears.

 They were floppy!

I like your ears! He said, the compliment genuine, lowering his head to nose at them with a puppy-like fascination. How cuteee~

(Thank you! ^_^ -luffs her- Rem is incredibly handsome, too~ <33)
Trin grinned brightly at the wolf, warmed by his eager greeting. "Hi!" she said again, her tail wagging ferociously behind her. "I came from right there!" She whisked her tail to motion towards her little den. "Though I do like hide and seek!" Her eyes glimmered and she tilted her head, still smiling at him.

When he came and began to nose at her ears, she was a bit embarassed at first. Did he think they were strange? She had never met another wolf with ears like hers, but when he spoke, she brightened again. "Thank you!" she said, licking lightly at his cheek. The youth was incredibly touchy-feely and had no reservations about physical contact, so while the lick might've seemed odd to some, she thought it was perfectly normal.

Oh! So you live here too? Remiel was much the same, loving to be close to others so close contact never really bothered him that much. Me and my pop just moved joined the pack a couple a days ago, do you have parents here?
He bounced on his paws and peered over at the den with bright eyes, hide and seek is fun! This place would be good to play it in too, there's so many places to use as a good hiding place.

His tail continued it's friendly wagging. I wish my ears were floppy! He twitched his own up-right ones and lowered himself to roll onto his back, exposing his orange underside to her.

Then with one forepaw he tapped gently and playfully at her nose.

Trin smiled and nodded at his first question before frowning at the second one. "P...parents?" she asked, tilting her head. She had heard the word before in one of her rare conversations, but she had never been completely clear on the meaning. "You mean a mom and dad? I... well, no, I'm kind of on my own." She scuffed at the ground sheepishly.
She was glad when he changed the subject. "I bet there would be!" she said brightly. "I haven't played hide and seek around here before." Truthfully, she had never played it before, period - but she had watched other pups play, and thought it looked like a great game.

A soft giggle came from her lips as he commented about his ears. "I think your ears are handsome," she said encouragingly. Her eyes brightened when he tapped at her nose, and she suddenly grinned mischeviously. He sure seemed like he wanted to play, and play she would!

The large pup leapt up, landing lightly on his exposed belly. She quickly spun around so that they were nose to nose before laughing, "Gotcha!" In that same instant she rolled to the side, laying next to him, gnawing playfully on his ear.

All the conversation before seemed to be lost as she pounced on his belly and with a playful squealing sound he rolled from side to side on his back.
Oh noes! I have been vanquished! He laughed, moving his head so he could n** gently at her own ears. It seemed he had grown a strange attraction to them, though it was not hard to understand why, they did look fun!

Oh! He looked suddenly sheepish, I'm Remiel by the way, I live here with my father Gizmo! If you don't have anyone then you should come stay with us, I'm sure Phib won't mind. Pack members have to look out for one another!

He rolled onto his side and moved to try and tackle her to the ground, ever playful. His tail continued to wag as he tried to gnaw gently on her ears. This was just how he had played with his siblings when they were around.

If yah like we could play hide and seek now if you're up for it!

Trin giggled, her laugh caught somewhere between that of a pup and that of an adult. She batted lightly at Rem's muzzle as he pinned her down, her eyes shining cheerfully. When he introduced himself, she beamed, replying, "Remiel? That's a nice name! My name is Trinity, but you can call me Trin." She listened to him talk about his pack and actually considered it. After all, it'd be nice to be around friends all the time, wouldn't it?
"Hide and seek? That'd be fun!" the youth yipped, flopping over onto her paws. She gazed at him for a moment before declaring, "I'll hide first! Cover your eyes, Remiel!"

Once she was sure he wasn't looking, she quickly crept away, stowing away underneath a large, dense bush. She had to work hard to keep from giggling and giving herself away. What fun!

Nice to meet'cha! He squeaked and then as the game begun he nodded and turned around to face away, covering his eyes with his paws.
He chuckled to himself at the thought of the game, counting out loud so if the pup was nearby she would hear. It was great to be playing games with ones close to his own age again!

With a cheerful wag of his tail he reached the last number and leapt up. Ready or not, here I come! Then with that he set off, breathing through his mouth so that he couldn't pick up so easily on the tell-tale scents.

 Now...where could she be?

Slowly he moved along the well worn path, peering this way and that. A movement in the grass caught his attention and with a wide grin he leapt over with a few large bounds, only to find nothing there.

Not here! He exclaimed, raising his head to glance around. If she wasn't hiding in the grass...maybe the den? So with another few exciteable strides, Remiel approached the den and stuck his head into the entrance.

Hellooooooo~! He called, but as his eyes grew used to the gloom he could see there was no one there.

Wow...she was good at this game!

Trin listened to her new friend searching, a smile on her lips. How fun he was!~ She was so glad that he decided to play with her. The day had started out great and it could only get better.
As she listened to him peek into the den, she couldn't help but giggle again. Hide and seek was a game for someone with patience - something that Trin lacked. So, she pulled herself out of the bush, a few burrs sticking in her fur. She grinned in a silly manner at Rem. "I'm over here!" she said brightly, her tail wagging.

"I guess it's your turn now~" she yipped, moving over to an old tree stump. The pup rested her muzzle on it and clasped her forepaws over her eyes as she began counting as well.

With a small yip Remiel reared up on his hind legs, tail wagging and eyes bright. This was so much fun!
Okay, okay! Then wheeling around he looked for a place to hide, scampering about in desperation to find somewhere good. It was a little further off the path that he found his hiding place and quickening his speed he rushed over to it, not wanting to waste any time.

His 'hiding place' was a rotten, hollow log lying on the ground, the trunk now a shell of the great tree it had once been. With a small 'oof' Rem lowered himself and tried to force his body into the log.

His head went in, followed by his shoulders and then...uh oh...

He pushed and shoved as hard as he could but to his despair he found that he was stuck, the log clutching at his rounded belly and refusing to let go so that going forwards or backwards became impossible.

A low whimper left his throat as he tried his best to get himself out of this predicament. He'd look like an idiot in front of his new friend!

Trin counted down to the last number. "Ready or not... here I come!" she yowled joyfully, leaping away from the stump. She glanced around, her eyes bright and curious. Now, where did he go? Her floppy ears perked and she set out in search of him, first checking in her den. As she popped her head in and looked around, she frowned. Nope, no Remiel. The youth turned and padded away, wondering where to look next, when his whimper caught her attention.
Did something happen to him?! She took in a quick breath and began sniffing at the air, worried about her friend. As she picked up his scent, she took off, her tail flying behind her. Within moments she was by his side - or by his lower half, as it seemed to be. "Are you okay?!" she asked incredulously, though she knew what the answer was.

"Lemme see if I can help!" she squeaked before beginning to paw at the outside of the log. Tiny flakes of rotten wood came off underneath her claws, but it did little good to help him.

He heard Trin's voice and gave another whimper, trying his best to shove himself free. I'm...stuck! He squeaked and his lower half wriggled as he tried to force himself back out of his wooden prison.
The sound of her paws scrabbling against the log silenced him for a moment and then when it quietened he spoke up again.

Oh no! He fell still and released a deep sigh. I think I'm too fat! My belly got stuck! Quite aware that he'd put himself in a rather amusig situation he couldn't help but laugh - albeit a little nervously.

Trinny!! His voice sounded desperate, will you still want to be friends with a wolf trapped in a log?!

The young wolf smiled reassuringly, despite the fact that he wouldn't be able to see it. "I'll be friends with you no matter what, Rem!" she said. "But I'm gonna try my best to get you out of there, okay? Just hold still!"
With her eyes lit up with conviction, she bared her fangs and started snapping at the wood, feeling bits of it break under her puppy teeth. Little by little, a crack began to form in the side of the log, threatening to split open at any given time. The female almost laughed. It was working! "Don't worry, Rem, I think I've almost got it!"

She was faced with a new obstacle, however. She couldn't continue chewing on the crack, because it could split and her teeth could meet Rem's body instead of the log. Frowning, she stared at it for a few moments before finally coming upon a decision. The brown wolf took a few steps back, and, with a sudden burst of strength, propelled herself forward, ramming her head against the log, which split open with a crack.

He couldn't see what she was doing but by the sound of splintering wood Rem was sure that it had to be doing some good! His tail began to wag slowly again but when the sound came to a stop he tilted his head in a questioning manner.
You okay Trinny? The sou-- But he was cut off as the pup gave the log one last attack and the loud crack automatically saw him shoving backwards.

He rolled backwards, head over heels, tumbling onto the grass in a great heap. Then turning bashful eyes over to his newfound friend he gave her a sheepish smile and shook the wood chips from his fur.

Thanks Trinny! I would have been a tree wolf forever if it weren't for you!
