I am sure you all have noticed that Deidara's palms eat the clay in order to create the sculptures. Well, I have read deeper into that than most people, according to Aurora, who is a close friend of mine. The palms of Deidara's hands eat the clay because Deidara is a starving artist, so while her hands hunger to create, they also hunger to nourish. The mouths on Deidara's hands represent the hunger to nourish, but eating the clay represents the hunger to create. Aurora wanted me to post this, so I did. I thought I should share this with you all too.

Mmm..I read at a few places the he was based or his clay birds were based off of this one Japanese artist. I don't know much about it though.
That is an interesting theory.

I am very good at picking up symbolism. I am not as far in the Naruto manga as I think the rest of you are, but I noticed that Naruto's shoes are now black instead of blue. Blue represents peace, while black represents chaos and turmoil. Therefore, I believe Naruto is going to have some major problems in the near future of the manga. (I just finished Ch. 268.)

Hmm, maybe this is also caused by Sasuke joining Orochimaru? >_>

Yeah... but she's right though about him having future probs. too. Dammit she scares me soo much!! Since my friend hasn't read past lke Chapter 268 yet, I'll put what I want to say in white... Okay, after this whole big problem with Akatsuki, Naruto and the gang go to talk to Sasori's 'spy', right? Then Naruto gets into a fight, loses control and almost has Kyuubi take over. Later on, they go to Otagakure, and encounter Sasuke, who is now totally off-the-wall, and doesn't care if his body gets 'taken' by Mr. Crazy ***** Jackson clone. Even Naruto can't knock any sense into him- and that's saying something- and he almost kills Naruto. They're running out of time to get Sasuke back from the freak, and now Naruto has to struggle to make up some outlandish new jutsu, while meanwhile Akatsuki is on their way for him now. And who knows what'll happen next!

I just though he changed shoes to match his new outfit which had black and not blue sweatdrop Well there's definitely going to be choas until they rid of Orochimaru or Akatsuki 3nodding

Anything can have a symbol, you just have to relax your mind and body to find it. At first, I thought nothing of the shoes, until I took a closer look. I noticed something odd. So I relaxed my conscious mind and allowed my subconscious to analyze the color. To do that, I go into a sort of uncontrolled daydream about the symbol. I realized that blue meant "peace" and black meant "chaos" or "turmoil". That is how I came up with my conclusion.
It is very difficult to learn how to read symbolism so deeply. Normally people force thoughts. When reading symbols, you have to relax your mind and allow the thoughts to come to you. You also have to be very in tune with your body. The conscious mind and the subconscious mind normally do not communicate, except in dreams. So, to allow them to communicate when I am awake, I slip into a semi-conscious state where I daydream. It took a lot of practice. You can ask Aurora - she saw me do that several times two days ago when I was showing her how to read symbols.
Most people do not even realize they are using symbols sometimes because the subconscious slips out a bit and controls certain things when making a story or other work of art. Only the subconscious of a person can read those symbols. However, people do not realize they know these symbols unless the subconscious mind communicates with the conscious mind.
Okay, I am getting very deep here. Sorry if I confused or scared anyone with my deep thoughts. That is another result of me becoming so in tune with my body and mind. sweatdrop

Just curious, because most of the time I see navy blue I always wondering why that colour... Are you sure it is not royal blue? Navy blue does not really have a symbol that I know of, but a deep blue, royal blue, is the same as purple in most cases. It means royalty, great power or respect, or acceptance as a great leader. Who do you see having that?

Soul of Deflection ... Headbands and the Uchiha's clothing. I suppose somewhere else. Oh! I think I know what it means now! Power. The Shinobi give the nations power, and the two Uchiha left quest for nothing but power. This symbolism came to Japan from Westernization. Even in imperial times, high-ranked military officers wore navy blue clothes because they had a lot of power. Police officers wear navy blue uniforms because they have power over criminals. Naval saliors wear navy on their uniforms because they have naval power. So, yeah, navy blue means power. I just did not get the connection before.
