According to my old teach she said "You have to make sure you can hear the people to the left and right to you, and still be able to hear yourself."
It's worked so far, but this year the new teach (I'm not blaming him though) put me next to my friend. This is good, but she is such a quiet singer! And I mean reeaaly quiet.
He keeps reminding us to blend, but he wants us to sing loudly as well. I'm having trouble singing to my full extent without completelly overpowering her DX
Any tips?

Well, you can't really do both. I'd try a little louder, see how that goes, try listening for the louder people around you too!

Just think if it started a chain reaction- Your friend sings quietly, so the people around her sing quietly, and so on! Not good!

I'm by a really quiet singer too, and I have to listen to the people around me, because even they drown her out most of the time sweatdrop

I find it better not to just blend your voices with the people to teh left and right of you try to blend your voice with the person to people over, that way you're singing your best, yet know you're not overpowering the rest of the choir so only your voice stands out. It's what I do when I'm beside a quiet singer. And more than liekly as you start singing louder, so will she.

i wish the top singers in our choir new what blending was. They over sing so it's not the choir anymore, it's just them with backup singers.

Just try working with the others don't worry about your friend so much watch out for yourself and she'll probably follow to be able to hear herself.
