Commander Ureinayamu vs. Akira

FIGHT!
PostPosted: Thu Sep 07, 2006 4:05 pm

The doors on one end of the massive arena clanked open slowly, creaking lightly, although the sound couldn't be heard over the roar of the crowd, cheering on the sole member of Cruxis in this branch, which seemed to favor Melee and Hand-to-hand combat. Cruxians had become a fan favorite despite the fact that most members had been timed out of their matches, as well as their only wins being by time out of their opponets.

Ure planned to add a death to the count.

The massive, sleek black android battle armor shined slightly in the dark, cloudy conditions of the feild. He coughed slightly, tossing off his cloak with the Cruxis symbol on it, standing up to his full height instead of his normally hunched position, his cold yellow eyes scouting for his opponet.

It began to rain, the water running off his armor in a almost poetic beauty. His armor was built to resist harsh conditions such as storms, blizzards, sandstorms, the works.

He reached down and grabbed two Mana Sabers off his belt, spinning them in his 9 fingered hands, awaiting whatever stepped through the opposite gate.

His armor also had quite a few improvments, such as being upgraded from his old, specialized armor, which was strong enough, to Soulsteel, a metal hard beyond belife. It also had a barrier around it that repelled the density and heat of a lightsaber. Of course, that was pretty much all the barrier did, except of course for blaster and laser fire.

It also had quite a few other improvments, but those are unimportant at the current moment. The important thing was the battle. Ure's hands were now a blur, spinning in their robotic sockets in several 360 degree movements that continued as he waited.

Hopefully his opponet wouldn't disappoint him again.

The other door opened, but not that to a human. Rather to something that giving off a glowing of the color white. A being that looked like an angel rapidly flew into the arena. His equipment was a adamantium staff, his robe from his previous match with a couple of holes in the back for his wings, a couple of shuriken-holding bracers worn under the arm sleeves of his robe. The shurikens didn't matter at the moment. What did matter was that Akira arced up within his flight. During the arcing, his winged let out 6 beams of light, 3 to his left and 3 to his right. The beams would shoot outward and then make sharp turns toward his opponent. Traveling fast toward the android. However, the beam themselves weren't very strong. At best, they were to burn the human hand enough to encourage their bodies drop any weapon that might be carried in their hand.

Depending upon the use of the light and the way it worked, there were two different defences.

If the beams were simply heated, and not elemental light, then they would hit the android and do absolutely nothing, since soulsteel has a high resistance to magic as well as extreme temptures and conditions, as mentioned before.

If the beams were of elemental might and not just heat rays, then Ure would ignite the Mana Sabers, the beams connecting with the blade and richochet off them, due to the abilities of the Mana Saber.

Reguardless, Ure then grabbed his cloak off the ground, fastened it on, and shot forward, leaping up at the angelic being, intercepting in midair so that they would meet in midair. Ure swung verticalluy downward with one hand, slashing sideways with the other. If he continued upward he would definatly be slashed in half. Ure was perfectly aware such a strike had a higher chance of missing than connecting, but that was up to his opponet's intellegence...

The rays were in indeed somewhat of the light element, so they were ricocheted offa the sabers. 3 ricocheted toward himself, likely to be stopped by his shield. The other 3 went off into differing(sp?) directions. The android went upwards into the air, only to have Akira continue arching upwards until he was to be flying backwards with his back to the ground, in the direction in which he originally came. Similar to doing a Vertical U-turn in Starfox games. The andriods' attacks missed. As Akira flew backwards towards the wall, 6 more beams shot from him toward the android.

As for the 3 ricocheted that went off into differing directions, they traveled a bit of distance away from him only to make sharp turns back toward him as the android would be coming down from his leap (unless he is flying at the moment; in which case, they would still be coming his way). The target area for the 3 beams being what would be considered the android's a**.

The android had, so far, been unimpressed with his opponet, who seemed to rely more on staying away from his opponet and suing magic that was easily deflected. Ure's arm clicked slightly and suddenly began to spin at such hgih speed that the Mana Saber's blade became a spinning disk, the energy beams being once again deflected.

Normally his other arm would do the same behind him, but he still had his special cloak on. The rays, upon impact, would have their energy converted into pure mana, the base of all magic. The mana would pulse through the cloak for a moment, before the magic was discharged into the Mana Sabers on his belt, giving them a bit more power.

During all this however, Ure was returning to earth, landing hard and sending a light spray of wet sand everywhere. He considered his surroundings before speaking. His voice was very menacing, a deep voice sent through a robotic filter, although it wasn't in monotone.

"Too afraid to fight in close combat? If you intend to fight the whole time with magic, then the only way to win this fight will be the one who doesn't collapse from equastion or loss of energy...and I assure you, I won't be the one to collapse." Ure disengaged one of his mana blades and put it in it's place on the belt, the other hand searching for something in one of the cloak's pockets, never taking his eyes off of the angelic being.

Upon impact, the rays were absorbed, but then also the cloak would be singed a bit as well. Can have the absorption without a price for said absorption. Mid-flight toward the wall, he flipped his body and flapped his wings to slow himself down as he approached the wall. Upon reaching the wall, he landed softy upon it. From there he pushed offa the wall and up into the air, diagonally. About 30 feet up from the ground, he came to a halt, flapping his wings in place.

"Coming from one who hides behind hi-tech weapons, a forcefield that deflects simple energy beams, and even a cloak that absorbs those beams and apparently channels it into his hi-tech weaponry?"

It might be surprising as to what the man can learn from firing a few simple beams?

As far as the 9 ricocheted beams go, they were went skyward to near the 300 foot limit and started circle the arena edge.

Akira's author doesn't define the properties of a Cloak Ure's author created. Nor does he define the rules. Therefore, the cloak did it's job, absorbing the energy without a scratch...Or a singe in this case. This is because the Cloak is infused with magic that protects it from harm, as well as allow the energy to be absorbed.

"Hiding? I'm not hiding, I'm waiting for you to attack. You're the one avoiding me...most likely because you lack Melee skills and only fight well with magic...Which isn't that smart to try eaither, since, as I said, you'll tire out long before I do. If this becomes a endurance match, I'll win."

Ure apparently found what he was searching for, his hand stopped inside one of the cloak's pockets. He noted the beams, although they wouldn't be a problem.

In this case, a clarification is needed. In order for a fire elemental to absorb fire coming at it, it must be tolerant to it to the degree of temperature the fire is. Otherwise, the fire elemental will be burned. It is a natural for an elemental to be very tolerant to their natural element. However, they are never immune unless this is a video game. And since this is roleplay and not a video game, immunity is not possible.

Since the cloak is made to absorb any kind of magic, it must be able to withstand that degree of magic. In the case of the simple beams, they were of little power/heat, so it won't be contested as to any great extent. Magic protects it which is ok. There won't be a singe, then. However, if say a kamehaha-like wave/beam/etc. is just 'absorbed'. It will be contested greatly.

Same thing goes with the manasabers and the barrier deflecting the beams earlier.

Now onto the battle...

Akira stays up in the air and continues to flap his wings. Six more beams coming out of them to join 9 others above in formation. He proceeds to yawn before saying, "I attacked. You defended. So now it is your turn."

-edited: After confering with TMJ there is no 'singing' unless the heat from the beams is tremendous. Sorry about the singing. Got science a bit mixed up-

((I'm gonna post now, not because you're right, but because we can argue once one of us dies. I'll explain later when it's an actual issue.))

Ure suddenly, with a speed that nearly defied the eyes from noticing it, drew a heavy blaster from the pocket and fired, the heavy bolt shot forward with extreme speed, far faster than a sniper bullet, and perfectly accurate due to Ure's extensive weapon's training. The blast was aimed at his opponet's chest, dead center. The shot was big enough that it would be able to hit both lungs and his heart with one shot. Further, the high tempatures would singe his internal organs. Of course, this was all only if it hit. Moving up or down wouldn't be fast enough, even if his opponent expected the attack, unless his opponent could move far faster than a bullet in a split second...which is nearly impossible, and would most likely tear you to peices if you tried. Moving to the left or right gave more hope than up or down, though not much, since the blast was still very fast. His opponent was in a bit of trouble...

Ure took into consideration all variables of the situation, and also wondered if he'd even get to do anything against his opponent besides jump at him and fire a few blaster shots. This was going to be a boring fight if that was the case, and would end up being an endurance match...which Ure would win. Steel tends to get tired after a couple hundered years, and that was just regular steel, while Soulsteel was a very good invention.

Ure continued to think, and doing it very, very quickly...

Actually, Akira was in no trouble at all. Despite, the man's extreme speed, Akira would be able to see him aiming and firing something. He would be able to move in time, but he just stayed still. The shot was dead center. However, Akira was just fine. For the blaster had almost reached its designated target. It instead hit a barrier of Akira's own. A blueish color could be seen where the blast was stopped. Gradually, the area were the blue color went back into looking like air. What powered this barrier was a good question. Maybe it might have to do with Akira being perfectly fine for the time being.

"Too much kinetic energy," was called out from the man. Not as a taunt, but rather a slight helping hand. Afterall, he is supposed to be a slight goody-to-shoes at times.

What happened afterword would be a deja vu to Ure, but this time it would be slightly different. Instead of 6 beams being shot up into the sky to join the others, it would be 18. Also, if Ure had a temperature sensor, he would see that there would be an area that would be rapidly rising in temperature. This is due to the beams breaking the normal formation, to start joining together into one massive ball that was slowly enlarging as if powering up for something big about to happen.

((Forgive me, I am a lazy SOB.))

Ure decided to try a different shot. He clicked a dial on the blaster and fired, this blast a dark red instead of the useual bright red blaster shot. This shot had even more velocity and was the same size as the last one. Ure didn't expect this one to work eaither, but he was testing to see if it would...

And yes, Ure could sense all the energy and temperature build-up, all that Jazz. For the moment he ignored it. It wasn't a problem for now.

And with that he missed completely, even missing the barrier. The reason being that Akira started glided pretty fast horizontally around his opponent in a circle during the dial switch. Neither approaching or moving away. Akira took note as to the shot being aimed for the same spot before as well as the different coloration. 20 more beams shot out of him towards the ball in the sky. The temperature of the inside of the ball reaching 500 degrees F and climbing.
