I have used the sun to my advantage my eyes can't stand it so I always have done this. I some times step on my opponents lead foot and attack you can knock them down easy from that I do this on accident from time to time but I have used it and it can help. Some people push forward to much they rush you back off like you are retreating and when they come forward explode out into them with a flurry of strikes. Make them think you are weak or trying to run if done right you can land quite a few hits because they don't have time to think there to buisy thinkig there beating you.

don't get flashy when you're actually in a real fight. and when you can, keep your footing opposite your opponents, it keeps them from landing a good strike, or at least makes it harder. never stop moving. And lastly, when you have free time at home, clear a space and come up with random combinations of things, and practice them till you feel like you're going to drop dead if you do any more. That way your body remembers it, so whem you get in a fight, your body goes into it like it's natural.

Thanks, they are really good tips, but when in a propper threatning fight, you don't think and just fall back onto your training. But in practice these things could help!

you don't always fall back on your training. Trust me on that one. You do if you're prepared for it though, but say you have only been in the art for about 6 months, and it's your first art, no you're probably not going to fall back on it, you're just going to go with instinct, and swing your fists. but if you have been in it for 6 months, and it's your first art, and you make every move send nature to you, then you're just most likely going to flow with it. I remember when I had that problem, so I had to make myself flow with it. Just don't always take it for granted that you will automatically fall back into training, and think that you will. Make sure you will, because if you're not in fights for you life alot, which I hope no one ever is, then you probably will end up just going with your instinct to fight back in any way possible.

Jimesu_Evil The most useful tip for ANY martial artist. When faced with a real fight... RUN! ?HA HA! Now that is true, but in a stuation that required a fight, I would fall onto my training...or into it rather. I have done it for 7 almost 8 years, so I'm pretty into it now. I never relly do things just by reacting in training though. I think too much which is my problem. You know? But there have been times where an attack came as a surprise and I just reacted. It was brilliant, I fllipped a HUGE guy onto his back in an arm lock...and had no idea what I had done, he's just shocked me and I reacted. Which is when I work best.

I remember one time, I just had to kick this guy on the shin then he tripped backward. It was during 8th grade, and I don't even consider it a fight. But from that day, I always have the idea of "break their bottom first". I guess it does make sense because your legs are worth alot in a fight.

Yes it does make sense, but you have to have got pretty close to have done that.

A very good thing to keep in mind especially if you practice a martial art: in a real fighting situation do not expect things to work out the same way as they did when you practiced them! and do not stop to think how to apply a paticular technique if the move does not come quickly and naturally do not use it! 2 seconds are all it takes to be seriously injured
