Bink. Bonk. Flop. She stepped from the cave where her family lived with a very sandy splat. Laying speread eagled in the sandy hollow she had created in her fall she looke dupa t the sky gawmlessly. Most cubs would cry out if they had taken such a tumble but Siyasura simply lay there with a daft grin on her maw and a glazed look in her eyes. "Duh!"

Smiling she stumbled to her paws. It was questionable as to how she hadn't woken her mother, father or siblings, the amount of noise she had made escaping the sanctuary but here she was, standing in the midday glow, the sun making her pale fur stand out even against the pale creamy beach.

"Hee!" she laughed hopping off down the beach towards the water without a thought in the world. Well, she did acctually have a thought, sparkle, the waves of the sea whooshed and splashed creating a soft glow. She wanted to see what it was, she had never seen the sea before. She had heard it though she didn't know it, from the sanctuary in which she slept. "Uhuh!" she calls as the sea receeds a little only to come back towards her again. "OHH!" she continues on, tiny legs stumbling through the sand making her trip and graze her elbows, legs and shins. She didn't seem to care though, there were sparklies!

Tamba had watched over his brood very carefully as they continued to grow and explore. The lack of lions made things ever more stressful for the fledgling king, although Leboya's presence was much welcomed.

Rolling over onto his back, he stretched and growled, opening his maw wide in a waking yawn. He lay there for a few seconds, just staring up at the ceiling and thinking of times past when he was carefree and had only to think about his next meal. Reluctantly, he pulled himself away from the daydream and rolled onto his side, eventually scrambling to his feet. He finished stretching and then looked over his sleeping mate and brood with a smile broader than that of his daydream.

"Right...one...two...three...four...fiv-"

Tamb's heart sank. Where was Siyasura? Eyes darted about frantically, searching every nook and cranny of the cave. He couldn't wake Mlinda, he didn't want to worry her either. Thats when he spied pawprints. Cub-sized pawprints. Leading right out of the cave.

Oh dear lord, I hope she hasn't gone to the water's edge!

In an odd sort of subdued leap, he left the cave as quietly as possible, then tore off down the beach.

The pale cub wasn't quite to the waters edge, but she wasn't far off it, foam licked at her tiny paws "hee!" she gurggled taking a flying leap and landing on the edge of the salt water sea with a tiny sploosh. As when she ahd left her sanctuary, she found herself sprawled out on the sand, though this time it was wet sand which sank just a little further than the dry stuff "Ug! UHH!" she called, pulling herself free of the wet sand, she had to catch the shinies but they kept moving.

As the water came whooshing towards her again she grinned broadly and pounced in to the waves. The water didn't seem to bother her, infact she was biting at it trying to catch the shining things that moved upon it's glassy surface.

"Yuh!" she stuck out her tongue, the salty water had left a bad taste in her mouth but she wasn't about to let that halt her in the quest for the shinies. Apparantly, the shinies liked to move, they were no longer where she stood, because of her shadow, though she didn't know that, they were a little further away. Already the salty water was licking at her belly not being a very tall cub, but the sparkling surface of the sea was pulling her further towards it! She wanted to catch the glistening creature that kept moving with the ripples of the sea. "Uh uH!" she called again an intent look on her face as he butt wriggles and she readied herself to dive in to the waves before her.

Moving erratically across his beach homeland, he scanned far and wide for any sign of his silvery daughter, running to places, checking them, running back to them moments later and checking again.

"SIYASURA!" he bellowed, hoping for any kind of reply, even if it was just a mumble or purr.

Splash splash.

Huh...what could be splahing around in the surf at this time of day? And so far out from the plains? He looked along the water's edge and there was Siyasura! Tamba's heart sank even lower and raced towards her. She was already shoulder-deep into the water.

"Siya! Get out of the water!"

Of course the cloth eared cub didn't even hear her fathers calls. The shinies were so close now,s he just had to jump once more! Her tail wiggled, a gull cried over head clearly watching the cub. Lunch it thought, drowned lion, it had never tasted that ebfore but it was probably good eating.

The pale cub giggled, she couldn't see the bird or she probably would have stoppe din her tracks to point and stare. Unfortunately, that wasn't to happen. She jumpped, the water beneath her holdin on only for a moment before she came back down with a watery splash before she sank beneath the waves vanishing friom her fathers view.

The gull hovered, the body would be washed ashore, maybe he should go and tell his family? Screw that, this was too good a meal to share.

Siya disappeared beneath the waves. Tamba skidded to a halt, numb with fear.

"Siya? SIYA!"

He ran even faster now, launching himself into the waters. The water only came up to his belly, but he stuck his head into the water, ears pinned back, as he searched for his daughter. All the while, he gently drifted a paw in the water, feeling around for her.

Success!

He grasped her neck a little roughly, panicked by the whole situation and just so desperate to get her out of the water. Tamba emerged from the waves sopping wet and half his mane dangling and dripping. He gently laid Siya down on the sand, a good distance away from the water. Just to be safe, he nudged her with his nose and began licking her viourously. He hoped she was breathing. He didn't dare look.

For a moment the pale cub was silent, her bedraggled body still, she wasn't breathing. She looked to all impressions like a rag doll, a peice of sodden cloth.

Then, she sneezed. A little flush of water escaped her nose and mouth. Her head picked up and she looked around, how did she get here? Blinking a few times the silver lined cub opened her mouth but no sound came out as she suddenly realised there was a large paw beside her and somone licking her. Her mind worked slowly but her eyes fled upwards to find the dark scraggly mane of her father "Duh!" she grinned. Where had he come from? The big male quite often hung around the den, she had heard the others call him dad, but her mind only picked up on the first syllable.

"ugh uh!" she tried to wriggle from her fathers grasp, how'd she get here? Wasn't she chasing something? The sea caught her attention and she grinned "uh!" she pointed with a claw at the waves. She had some how magically ended up all the way up here on the beach when she was supposed to be there? The big soggy maned lion must have braught her here, well, she wanted to go back "Uh!" she protested again clambering over a large paw to head back for the water again.

Tamba watched his daughter sneeze back into life, and breathed such a huge sigh of relief that he physically flopped onto the sand. But that smile quickly disappeared as Siya showed an obvious deathwish and clambered over his protective paw and back to the water!

"Siya! What are you doing!?" he frowned, leaping to block her path. "The water is dangerous for a cub."

"ughh!" she complained glareing at her father, why was he int he way? she wanted to go to the sparkly water again. "uh! UH!" pouting she tried to squeeze past the hairy male. She was supposed to be catching the sparklies, why was he stopping her?

Tamba was losing his patience now. He gently grabbed Siya into his mouth and carried her away from the sight of the water. Maybe he could discern some kind of sense from her if she couldn't see it. This cub certainly had a deathwish. Couldn't she wait for the swimming lessons?

Nestled just behind a little cluster of small rocks, Tamba released his smallest of daughters and then wrapped his paws about her so that she couldn't scramble for freedom.

"Siya...listen to daddy...please," he began, trying to speak assertively. "You can't swim yet. The water is dangerous if you can't swim."

Siyasura squirmed as she was picked up though she soon fell still and silent as the water vanished. Pouting still she waited to see where she was going.

With sand under her bottom once again the young pale lioness played with the sand, moving it in to little piled until her father caught her attention with his speach, letting hr head tilt a bit she looked at him blankly, a dim light in her eyes. "Wuh?" She blinks looking to her fathers hairy form, she was just chasing the sparklies, she didn't understand. Pouting some the tiny pale females brow creased unhappily for a moment, at least until her little sand hump caught her attention again and she went back to building it a little higher between her paws.

Tamba's face furrowed into a frown. He lifted a paw to gently stroke Siya's side.

"Are you listening Siya? I know its hard to understand right now, but water equals bad. You have to get bigger before you can get to the water," he tried to explain.

His cubs were growing up fast, and were starting to talk. But he had noticed that Siya wasn't learning as fast as the others. Maybe she was just a late bloomer, and would end up being a total chatterbox later in life.

Siyasura looked at her father mutely, her young eyes still cloudy with their recent opening to view the world. But they didn't shine the way other cubs did, it was as if the lights were on but nobody was acctually home to use them. "duh!" she mumbled falling over sideways on to her fathers paw as he stroked her, she was wondering what was doing that, it was nice, she didn't want him to stop.

As Tamba spoke, siyasura did indeed listen to his words, but they were lost upon the pale beauty, all she heard were mumbles, words which jumbled in her head, she was much more interested in being petted, being told about the water simply made her brain hurt so she let the big male ramble while she enjoyed the pettings. "Uhuh!" yes, she liked the pettings.

Tamba doubted that any of his words had actually sunk in, but he was just relieved that she wasn't squirming her way back to a watery grave. He sighed heavily, idly starting to tickle his daughter.

"I can tell you're gonne be a little pest as you grow up," he chuckled.

The pale cub gurggled as her father tickled her rolling around between his paws "Duh!" she meeped as she tried to escape the tickling paws. Clambering towards her father she buried herself in his mane, turning around her tiny head peering out from beneath the curtain like fur. Sitting amidst the shroud of fur, she was silent for a moment, her mind a blank canvas as she listened to the waves and remembered why she was out here. To see the world outside of the place she slept, or something along those lines any way. Hadn't she been chasing something?

Her vacant eyes were drawn to the little lump she had created in the sand which she swiftly pounced and returned to it's previously flat state. It was as if her father was forgotten, her antics related only to herself.

Laying still for a moment over the heap she had just destroyed, she suddenly leapt to her paws and once again tried to scramble over the large furry fore paws of her father. The male wasn't even there, he was just an obsticle between her and the world she had kerflopped in to.
