As the title suggests, this thread is for posting up interesting things you may have heard about Yu Yu Hakusho. Preferibly they should be facts. For instance, Hiei has not yet reached the age of one hundred years. Although he is never given a specific age, there are things said that would lead to such a conclusion. In episode 99 Rui is explaining how the koorime reproduce without men. She states that every one hundred years a koorime will give birth through immaculate needs. Therefore since Yukina and Hiei are twins, and Yukina does not have a child it can be concluded that they aren't a hundred years of age. *sighs* I need to get a life... I have a few other facts.... but they aren't important right now... i want to see if I can learn vital YyH info from my other fellow YYH fanatics.

Tch, don't you think is weird that Hiei hadn't met Youko in the past while he lived in the Makai? You know he was risen by bandits and its weird that he hadn't met the most famous bandit of the Makai.
Maybe Hiei was born after Youko went to the ningenkai. Or perhaps a few years later. So Hiei could be around 18-19 *shrug*

Enma-Daiou
The God of the underworld and judge of the dead. He is respected and feared, for he chooses who goes to Heaven and Hell. In Chinese mythology, he is called "Yama".
Foxes
Youko Kurama comes from the foxes of Japanese mythology. The most important fact in regards to Kurama is his age - it is said that when foxes reach 1,000 years old, they grow 9 tails and turn either silver or white.
Four Saint Beasts
These characters all have names of gods that originally came from Chinese mythology. They each belong to a specific quadrant of the universe. Seiyruu (blue dragon) is the east, Byakko (white tiger) is the west, Genbu (black turtle) is the north, and Suzaku (red sparrow/phoenix) is the south.
Kurama & Hiei
Kurama & Hiei are not quite from myth, but are names of sacred mountains in Japan, both near Kyoto. The kanji differs from the characters' names, though.
Yomi
Yomi is the name for the underworld in mythology. It comes from "yomitsukuni", which means "the land of roots".

Jiwin Tch, don't you think is weird that Hiei hadn't met Youko in the past while he lived in the Makai? So Hiei could be around 18-19 *shrug* Ummm... actually... the reason why hiei didn't meet Youko is because three hundred years before he became Shuuichi he went into seclusion in the Reikai... Foboy_chan- I knew most of that except.. I didn't know Kurama was named after a mountain and... Youko didn't nine tail, he only had four... Another intresting fact, all the farie girls are named after flowers, Botan= Peony, Ayame= Iris, and Hinageshi= Red Poppy.. well.. that's it for now.. I'll think of more later... and I hope more people will post too ^^

I read this in a interview in a Shonen Jump with Yoshihiro Togashi. He wasn't planning on making Hiei a main character. He was just going to use him for the Artifacts of darkness, then that would have been all. But he got such positive feed back from the reader about how much they liked Hiei, that he kept him. ^_^; Think of what it would be like without Hiei-kun.

*thinks about a Hieiless Yyh.* NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! My friend would be so sad... well... then again... she really couldn't be sad because he wouldn't really ever exist but for those few episodes... but she would probably go on about how that one youkai who was never made important was so hot... The only differences that I can tell right off hand are... His skin was paler at the begining... and his eyes were smaller... By the way... i read somewhere that Jin and Yuusuke are related... and i'm pretty sure that's not true... I mean i know references were made about how they could be brothers because they acted so much alike... but that's it... right?
