Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin KilledSteve Irwin, the hugely popular Australian television personality and environmentalist known as the "Crocodile Hunter," was killed Monday by a stingray during a diving expedition, police said. He was 44. Irwin was filming an underwater documentary on the Great Barrier Reef in northeastern Queensland state when the accident occurred, Sydney's The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported on its Web site. The Australian Broadcasting Corp. said Irwin was diving near Low Isles Reef near the resort town of Port Douglas, about 1,260 miles north of the state capital of Brisbane. AOL News: Steve Irwin Dies

It's very strange that he would die from a STINGRAY, of all things....they're very docile creatures, and you USUALLY only get stuck by a barb if you step on it.....

the news today said that he was doing fine after it happened, but he pulled the barb out of his chest/heart and was dead within 2 minutes after that. they said that they kept filming the documentary after the thing got in him cuz they figured he'd be fine.....but yeah....never pull something out when you get impaled

Riffe Nephite Warrior .....but yeah....never pull something out when you get impaled Advice hopefully never needed to be followed. Amen to that. Seriously though, he was a great guy and didn't deserve to go out like that. He had a wife and two kids! But I suppose if thats the Lord's will then who are we to argue?

Yeah, I'm really concerned about Terri, and Bindi-chan and Robert-chan. I know how much his family loved him just by watching. That's what struck me the most when I was told he died; my dad saw it on the internet. He told my mom, and then they both told me. I feel so bad even now.
But you know, it's easy to say, "I wish this had never happened," but you have to remember that everything happens for a reason; that's the way Heavenly Father works; he has a reason for everything and never breaks a promise.
That's reason enough for me, even though I will miss him. He was such a great guy, and so enthusiastic. If anyone should be like a mortal somebody, it should be him.
