The sun was climbing high into the blue sky, but still had a ways to go before it reached its peak. No clouds hung in the sky leaving it to be a sea of blue above and an ocean of yellow and green below. Jini smiled at the beauty of his homeland, letting his green gaze trail after the zebra grazing near by. His head rested on his white tipped paws as she lay upon a warm rock, his tail trailing off the edge. The signs of a mane were beginning to show on his head, which was odd because he had to get used to that and his strange growing fits that seems to be happening with the length of his legs.

He let out a contented breath, happy where he was and didn't move. His sister might need to be on the run all the time, but he didn't.

Monifa walked through the grass of what she believed to be the pride lands. She didn't really know where she as anymore, but was just wandering. She flicked her tail from one side to another heaving a happy sigh as her paws dragged slightly against the loose dirt beneath her. She was happy to be out and about, benath the warm sun. She loved relaxing, then again, there was really nothing else for her to do out there. She perked her ears, smile apearing on her maw before her started into a trot though the grass, her white and gray body moving swiftly.

"Mm...?" Jini lifted his head slightly to peer more closely at the distance. He saw something moving there, something small that didn't fit in with the normal sights of zebra and wilderbeast. It was gray...and white by the looks of it. Catching a scent on the breeze he realized it was a lioness. A very young one, too. A concerned frown formed on his maw and he sat up to perch above the grasses on his rock. What was a little one like that doing all alone out there...?

Monifa turned her head, spotting something orange against the green and blue scenery. She blinked and halted immedietly, nose wrinkling. "Hm...?" She turned and looked at him, head tilting to one side. She couldn't catch a scent, the wind was blowing in the opposite direction, but from the looks of it, it seemed to be a lion of some sort....

Filled with curiosity, she padded towards this other being slowly.... catiously...

Jini craned his neck to see she was coming this way. He felt a stirring of his shy nature in his heart, but he did his best to control it. It was always easier with little ones, but he was still a very sensative young lion, both towards the feelings of others and towards his own. Letting his white ears pull forwards slightly he called out, though he felt a small twang of uncertainty, "Ah...hello there!" He smiled weakly, feeling extremely stupid for the pitiful greeting but, he couldn't take it back now, so he let it stand.

Monifa smiled and nodded her head in a bow-like manner. "Hello..." Her voice held little timidness, as it had before. "My name is Monifa" Her tail swayed from one side to another, blue-gray tuft at the end blowing slightly in the light breeze. Something about his tone made her look at him oddly, but once she realised she was, her face went back to the happy smile.

Jini blinked his green eyes, startled by her politeness. His smile widdening, he offered a bow of his head in return though it felt rather clumsy to him, making his grin turn soft and sheepish. Even with those younger then him Jini couldn't always be self assured. "Ah! It's nice to meet you, Monifa! I'm Jini." Did his name sound dorky? he wondered perhaps for the hundreth time. It always seemed so short and silly when he introduced it to others...

Monifa grinned and nodded, "Nice to meet you as well" Her tail flicked before laying rest on the ground. Light blue eyes scanned over the older lion curiously, "I.. like your name... Jini..." She mused in a slightly quieter tone. She was starting to feel slightly uneasy, though not knowing exactly why.

Jini felt himself flush in surprise under his fur at the compliment. He offered a brighter smile, looking as if he felt a little more comfortable. "Ah...t-thank you! You're name is really pretty too..." Ok, so he wasn't exactly a wonder at conversation, but at least he was trying. And at least he didn't seem to be as uncomfortably now as before. It was kind of funny that an adolecent could get so nervous around one younger then him.

Monifa couldn't help but lighten her smile, finally taking a seat before the adolecent male. "Thank you" She said quietly with a nod. She looked up at him, ears flicking, "So, do you live around here?" She asked, front paw sliding in the loose dirt.

Jini felt a little odd, seeing how calm and collected Monifa was. He, on the other hand, always seemed to be a bundle of nerves and feelings. He almost wished he could have that sort of composure, but thought it was silly to think about it. It obviously wasn't going to happen. He bobbed his head in a nod, trying not to seem to eager for conversation or to please, "Y-yes! I live here with my family, actually. What about you...?" He knew he hadn't seen her before but...well, you could never know everyone in the pridelands, especially not now.

Monifa hummed quietly, blinking at the question a few times. "No, I live... Well, I'm not sure really. I just... wander" Her tail flicked once more, "I don't have a family, or rather, none that I remember..." She looked up at the sky, apparantly in thought. She hadn't noticed the fact that Jini wasn't exactly calm, but wouldn't have minded, she loved company, no matter how said company acted.

Jini frowned slightly, though he felt the tension drain from his muscles. He didn't know why but he suddenly felt calm and a little...mournful. So she was all alone? His heart ached with empathy. Living like that must be hard and horribly lonely. He knew he couldn't have done it. "I'm sorry..." he murmured, his voice soft and for once without a stutter or any uncertainty. For he was, he was sorry she lived in such a way. It was awful. "It must be hard...to have no family."

Monifa's head tilted to one side at the words of the lion's apology. "It's nothing to be sorry about..." She murmered, lifting her head, "And it's not really that bad, I suppose. I have friends..." She shrugged and brushed a paw through the dirt, "Though out of curiosity, what is your family like?" She asked meekly, looking up at him with a curious expression.

Jini was a little surprised by how casual she was toward the subject but...he couldn't help but continue to feel sorry about it. He had strong bonds with his family and he wasn't sure what he could ever do without them. He'd never fair on his own. "Ah...well...." He paused thoughtfully, trying to think of the best way to explain, "I've got one sister, her name is Mosi...she's just like Mom, strong minded and brave and has no problem expressing herself...Dad's a little more controled then them and he's a little protective and everything...but we're all there for each other. I wouldn't trade them for anything."
