The main room of the GoTP was alive with noise, but certainly not of the good sort. No, the noise was not music being played too loud, nor was a video game at a particularly gruesome part. Not quite. The explosive screech that rippled through the once-quiet haven of the 'wand shop' belonged to a little ball of flesh no larger than a watermelon. A small, square pin was set up in the center of the sitting room, walls made of a soft white mesh material. The source of such a horrid sound was in this.
The bald infant had thrown himself in a dramatic heap atop a black, dog-shaped plush and was heaving with sobs caused only by the exertion caused. A dark-haired young woman sat adjacent from the child in a rather stiff-looking chair, her navy-eyed stare cast down to a stack of notebook paper in her lap. She seemed to take no notice of the squalling child, marking at the papers occasionally with a slim red pen. It was as if one of them wasn't there at all. Behind them, a cartoon played on the screen of the television, ignored by both.
Suddenly, the boy whipped his head up from the plush, pupil-less yellow eyes glaring almost hatefully at the woman. With another scream, he took hold of the thing's long ears and hurled it at the wall of the pen. It bounced harmlessly off the mesh back to the soft floor of the pen. As if realizing what he did, Xerksis crawled quickly on his hands and knees to his dog -Minion- and clutched at it with one arm. Of course, he continued to snarl at the woman, preparing another howl of outrage. Pay attention to me! Get me out of this thing! His stubby fingers curled into the holes of the wall and yanked uselessly. The woman ignored him, going on to another piece of paper while marking in a book on the arm of her chair.

Poor, poor Xerk. Yashi had decided to visit the HQ once more - taunting Fate in the face - wearing one of his little yukata's. It was blue and green to his pale skin and hair, the length of his hair down to the middle of his back. The ears twitched a little when the sound of the childs squalling hit his sensitive hearing center.
"What the..." The fox child pushed his way in the door, eyebrows furrowed and lips pulled tight into a frown. "Whoever it is, shut UP!" He certianly hadn't lost any of his anger in the way over - his tousan had LEFT, damnit and...
well, okay. He was just angry.
He saw Xerk then. The squirming little fleshy, tentacled bundle of ******** adorable child. Well, maybe not adorable but he was still...all that other stuff.
It's not nice to hurt others ears, Yashi shot at the baby, moving over to the pen. "But I suppose you're just lonely, yeah? Stuffies aren't much fun." His fingers moved, reaching over as far as he could in order to touch the child. "Hi."

Kishi walked inside from the gardens in time to catch the tail end of a wail. As she walked down the hall towards the main lobby she listened to a strange voice have a minor fit before taking pity on whoever was crying. Apparently while she'd been outside chasing away annoying squirrels people had decided today was the day to visit.
Kishi wore a large white baseball cap on her head with the letters NY stitched on it in red. The young succubus child didn't have a clue what the letters stood for, she just liked wearing the cap since had originally been her fathers. Her trademark purple overalls and a white t shirt covered the rest of her. All of the clothing and even her wand was covered in dirt from her play.
Looking a right mess Kishi approached the others, headed straight towards the playpen and ignored the adult in the room altogeather. " Hey there who are you and why are you all being so loud?" She inquired. She's not met either of these children before and they looked interesting enough.

Very quickly, another vaguely scream-like sound joined the cranky infant's. And just as quickly after that, a loud reprimand was heard.
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
"Aricia, stop that!"
Kierla continued to try and shush the said Aricia as she entered the headquarters. Currently, Aricia's new fad was to try and mimic any loud noise that reached her ears.
Torture.
"I'm really very sorry," Kierla tried to explain to the rest of the room.
Being a mother really really sucked. A lot.

At the sound of the mental speech, Xerk paused in mid-screech. Ah, he felt it now. There were more semi-intelligent minds drawing near him. The tentacle-bearing child turned his head to face Yashi, face drawing to a simple grumpy expression. 'Lonely.' The child repeated to the other, pushing himself to his knees. As soon as the kitsune reached in, the illithid made a snatch at his fingers with his own hand, babbling a nonsense sound aloud that sounded more like a grumble. Touching Yashi seemed to calm him, tiny body slumping against the wall of the pen though still holding tight to those fingers. If he had his way, the boy wasn't going to get them back soon.
As Kishi entered, the baby turned his head curiously. Another mind! Xerk babbled his irritation at her too, rocking. A mental wave was sent towards the girl experimentally, wondering if she could do the same as Yashi and talk to him without using her mouth. If she didn't respond, he'd know. And now, another girl, who also screeched. Xerk murred at her and shifted, suddenly feeling familiar with this mind.
Kyo only responded to Kierla. It was true that she was really watching her child and the new ones from her peripheral vision, but to the other guardian, she actually looked up. "Hello again." She greeted, smiling softly. "Is that... Aricia?" Good! She'd remembered! But alas, she could not recall the other woman's name.

His hand closed around the other childs little fingers as well, akwardly, a grin about to show on his lips - when Kishi arrived.
Girl. Girl girl girl.
She was wearing overalls like Makana had been but eitherway, the foxes irritated voice had transformed into a shrill shriek. Somehow, in a matter of seconds, he found himself in the pen with the little tentacle baby, holding Xerk like he was a lifeline.
At least the fox had stopped screaming.
Instead, his eyes were wide - whites showing, all around - and his ears were flat against his skull. Yashimas tail was fluffed to it's greatest extent, wrapped around his midsection and the mind flayer. The pale hands were trembling, but he was no long screaming.
Baby screamings didn't help his momentary ********>

Kishi heard and strange confusing series of sounds in her mind. Having met Aricia before she knew that other girl wasn't the culprit. Kishi's ener met the fox boy before but she had a gut feeling that said the noises weren't his. This left only the strange bald baby with his very cool purple tentacles. ' Don't be lonely, you have me' She thought to him. Kishi had no clue if her message would reach the boy, as far as her father had said her special abilities would not surface untill she was older.
The fox boys reaction to her startled her at first, the sight of his puffed up fur however reminded her of how some animals made themselves look bigger to scare others. " I am not afriad of you" she growled spreading her wings and gripping her wand tighter," An don't make the baby a hostage" She hissed, what a bad person this fox must be to take a baby as a prisoner so she didn't attack.
Aricia was for the moment all but forgotten.

"Yes," Kierla replied to Kyo - "yes, that's Aricia." It was a 'that' now, rather than a 'this' - Aricia had decided to jump out of her mother's grasp and roll back and forth on the floor, her yells rising in pitch to a sharp "YIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!" to follow Yashi's shrieking.
Looking at Kyo with a calculating eye now, Kierla apparently shared a common short-memory-plagued ancestor with the woman, for she couldn't seem to remember her name either. "And you're...the purple ghost's mother, right?"
Come to think of it, she couldn't remember any of the other's names, either. Except the fox-boy's - started with a Y, did it? Yachi? No, that was Kiarna's kid. Yashi.

The sudden actions made Xerksis cry out in protest, though they were quickly muffled when he was swept up into the arms of the kitsune. Now that was more like it! The force that leeched from every semi-intelligent thing -the force that he felt he was in dire need of absorbing- was so close now that it almost seemed like it curled around the boy like a blanket. It was better than any physical pacifier, and he clung contently to the boy's yukata, absorbing it. Of course, Yashi wouldn't feel anything of it- it wasn't as if he was actually sucking out anything. His receptive mind unconsciously was copying down what it could reach in Yashi's, nothing more, nothing less. It wouldn't pry or hurt the boy, so it shouldn't be obvious. Especially not when the boy was distracted like he was.
With so much screaming going on around him, Xerk copied, yowling just for the sake of making a loud noise like the others. His mind did receive Kishi's words, and built a response. 'Who are you?' Yes. You see? His mind was learning rapidly. Too bad his mouth couldn't follow, and his motor skills were less than perfect.
"Yes, Xerksis... He's over there..." With Yashi. Great. Now they all seemed to be screaming. Kyo let it pass. "Maybe you'd like to put her in the pen?" Instead of letting her just roll on the floor, that is.

Yashi just hugged Xerk closer, eyes still wide, still scared on the girl. At her snarlings, however, at her declarations of keeping Xerk a hostage (?!), his lips peeled back and he hissed at the female. His brother did that often - now was his turn.
"Xerk is NOT a hostage," The child growled, tail wrapping more securely about the baby. "G-Go. Get away. Leave me ALONE or I WILL get mad." Not that he wasn't already pretty cheese off but... but! He'd defend Xerk - or himself, whatever - to the death!

I'm Kishi I live here' The girl responded gently. She hoped if she was calm with him he'd stop his yelling and lower the obscenely loud noise level. She was surprised her father had come out to investigate what was going on yet.
She shook her head at the fox boy " I will not go this is my house." He was bigger than her, probably stronger and that made her nervous, but she wasn't afraid of him or his attitude, after all she'd seen her father far more dangerous looking when he'd yelled at Xtol's mother. " I didn't do nothing to you" she said walking closer but lowering her wand so as to be less agressive looking. If he wasn't hurting this Xerk baby than she wasn't going to hurt him.

"That's wrong grammer, miss," Kierla couldn't help but say to Kishi. Suddenly she felt like a schoolgirl again. "It's, 'I didn't do anything to you,' not 'nothing'."
She hid the fact that she was actually a little amused by the dialogue between the succubus child and the Yashi. Hostage?
Ah! So the hostage kid was Xerksis. Kierla had a hunch that his name had started with one of the rarer letters. "Thank you...Xerksis's mother," Kierla said, still forgetful of Kyo's name. "Aricia, come on, in you go."
As Kierla lowered Aricia toward the Mindflayer and Kitsune, Aricia giggled with delight - a short respite from her now continuous screeching. Almost choking on the sounds she was making, she reached one hand to a purple tentacle and the other to a fuzzy ear. "GADA!" she screamed.

Xerksis listened to the conversation, taking it all in but not quite understanding completely what it was about. He was delighted by the fur that wrapped closer to him, that much he knew. Reaching out with one hand while the other remained clingy, he stroked at the soft white fur happily.
'Kishi. I'm Xerksis.' He told her, more or less mimicking her mind-words. 'Yashi mad... Why?' Obviously he couldn't comprehend the problem of why they were fighting. However, with Aricia there came a distraction. As she reached for a tentacle, he pulled his head back and chomped on her fingers instead. No. 'Chomp' applied to one with teeth, which he didn't have yet. He gummed at the fingers, muffling a similar sound to hers around them.
Kyo listened to the corrections and made no comment, looking back to her papers as if reminded. "Ah, it's nothing. Hopefully they'll settle down in a bit... How are you fairing?" Though, she was almost ready to get up and step between the quarreling children.

Her house? So. She was Kays sister. While Kay had once been a very close friend to the child-fox, the fact was that now, she made the hair on the back of his neck prickle. Not a good thing, not a fun thing, and this was her sister.
Yashi scooted back, away from the girl, a growl rumbling in the depths of his throat. She kept coming CLOSER. Didn't she know that when someone yelled at you, it meant to back the hell off?
He could feel the muscles and bones shifting under the skin of his face, fingers twitching and, although Yashi couldn't see, his face took on that of Kishis. The edges of his hair even turned black. Silver hair twisted into black wings and the fox/succubus/thing snarled.
"Get. Away. From. ME. NOW." Even his voice was a strange twist of hers and his own, hands twitching.
The next movement would be to pounce if she came much closer - the little girls hand reaching for his ear was met with an almost rough brush off.

'Hi Xerksis you have a nice name, I dunno why Yash is mad, I think he's crazy'. Kishi was amused that Xerk seemed remotely unphased by the arguing going on. She frowned at his actions towards Aricia and had opened her mouth to tell him to play nice when her attention was shifted towards Yashi.
She watched him change more than a bit startled, she'd never seen anything like this before except on Sailor Moon and that was only t.v. The result both physically and vocally however, caused an unexpected reaction from her. It was too strange, too strange and weird and the adrenaline she'd been feeling melted away with a fit of laughter.
How could she be afraid of something that talked half like her and looked half like her . Nope this was funny not scary, she bet that when the others noticed they'd start laughing too. " I won't go away" giggle "But please turn back, you look" giggle " Really funny that way and it's weird to see me on you."
