Breaking through the thick of trees at the edge of the jungle, Ekevu found herself now walking in sand instead of dirt, a lack of vegitation around her. his made it rather hot, to say the least, and dry on top of that. Nothing to keep the heat from beating down on her back. Drawing a deep breath of the drier air, she sat on the warm sands as her glance fell over the landscape before her.
"Fascinating.." she murmured softly, in awe of the sudden change in landscape. How the atmosphere could change so suddenly, along with the moisture levels, boggled her mind to levels she hadn't dreamed of. Nearly bursting from excitement, Ekevu instantly took the chance to investigate the grasses around her, eyes widening in awe.
"It's the same species of grass," Ekevu decided, pawing at it gently, "and yet, it's so different from what I'm used to. It's adapted to the drier areas, and changed.. but how long did that take? And, why can't all forms of life do that.." she wondered, talking to herself rather than anybody in particular. Who needed company when you could be learning?

About the same Ekevu had been wandering around the outskirts of the jungle area - the little virtuous godling had been floating around - in and out of the underbrush that hid the main 'roads' and contents jungle away from anyone who were to just peer in curiously - the sound of his wings beating echoed through the jungle - but when he was over the desert like area, it was muted - like as if life and sound ended there.
In all honesty he had been doing this for a bit - completely in awe as to how the sound of the desert didn't flow as well as the sound in the jungle. There really wasn't much to listen to in the dank nothingness that consisted of sand, and maybe a scorpion or.. oh - what's that?
Ducking back into the jungle, he floated silently over towards the little blue spot that he could see in the desert, only to realize - when he finally got to where she was, that it was a little mortal whelpling, just sort of sitting there, admiring the view. Maybe she was investigating and doing research like he was! It took patience and intellegence, and atleast one of those was a virtue.. he thought. So upon getting closer to her, he slowed down to a hover float over her as he caugh the tail end of her conversation to herself.
Why DID things change faster? "Well.. maybe those lifeforms who stay the same way want to? Or maybe, they dunno how?" he caught himself answering out to her, as he spun around onto his back and then over again over her head, letting off a few wing beats.

Jumping slightly at the sound of another, Ekevu whirled around to find not a soul present, confused as to where the voice was coming from. Then, of course, she looked up.
Gasping at the sight of a floating lion, Ekevu blinked several times, making sure that she wasn't imagining what she was seeing. Finally believing her eyes, she sat and stared in awe for some time, before what he had said registered in her mind. A soft smile spread across her face as Ekevu realized this might make for an interesting conversation. Considering his opinion for a bit, she shrugged.
"Does vegitation have the ability to want or know, though?" She returned, watching in amusement as he turned in midair. The question, atleast, she was pleased with. The fun part now would be seeing how he responded.

He couldn't help but giggle a little bit when he saw her jump quite a feat when he spoke up from over her head. Doing a barrel roll in the air and then lowering himself just over the sand, which kicked up in responce, as if angered for being moved - it was mean sand. Never the less, he rolled the question a few times in his head, thinking it through before coming to a good answer for the little femme.
"One would suppose that only those who can hear the vegetation would be able to answer that one - but I've always been one to believe that the vegetation really just doesn't care and hopes that no one is sizing up to eat it today." he nodded sagely, happy with his answer - and hoping she would too, as he finally took foot on the sand and folded out his wings - letting them rest after a long day of skirting through.

Unable to hold in a laugh at his response, Ekevu found the other's response amusing, getting a short laugh out of her. Managing to calm herself, Ekevu's ruby eyes once more fell upon the god's wings, remaining there for a moment's time. Turning her attention to catch his eyes, her tail twitched in excitement. This was turning out be worthwhile after all. Yes, her mother would be upset at her for leaving later, but this moment was worth it! She was meeting such an interesting character!
"I apologize for so suddenly changing the subject," Ekevu started, her tone soft and even, though obviously holding back excitement, "but curiosity drives me to ask, how do you have wings?" Crooning the question, Ekevu's finally managed to see the lion before her not in parts, but as a whole, living creature, studying his markings, jewelry, eyes, everything intently. He definately wasn't an ordinary lion, to say the least. That much was obvious.

A wide, and yet soft grin creased across the young lord's maw when he heard the positive response that his joshing had imposed on the little lady infront of him - it made him joyful to know that he could make someone grin. Never the less, when he heard her query and saw her eyes wander, he almost instinctly fanned his wings out a bit more, looking towards them, before answering her.
"These things? Well, they've been on my back since I was created, really. I'm not quite sure -how- they got there, but when I finally turned around, they were just there." he stated, emphasizing by doing a little spin following his tail end as if trying to catch a wing. When he had made one perfect turn, he sat down again, shaking his head. "If I knew the answer to how to get them, I would share indefinitally, my fair lady. It seems that all the mortal earthbound lions are without wings, which saddens me, I wish you could see what I see." he finished, with a bit of a saddened frown on his face, as he thought seriously on how he had gotten the wings.
Then it dawned on him. Bowing low in a bit of a rush, he spat out the words quickly. "Forgive me for not introducing myself any time sooner m'lady. My name is Jamala'Peponi, I am the god of Virtues and the Virtuous. It is a pleasure to meet you!" he exclaimed, as he lifted his head to meet her once again eye to eye.

Still admiring his wings, Ekevu blinked as Jamala bowed before her, introducing himself in such a formal manner. Not wanting to seem disrespectful before the god, she repeated to bowing gesture, returning her gaze to his eyes as she pulled up.
"And I am Ekevu," she said lightly, pausing a moment to think, her nose scrunching slightly as she thought, "..and I believe that is all I am." Ekevu added, trying to repsond with the same wit Jamala had shown earlier. Smiling, softly, she shook her head.
"It's quite alright, I don't think I would handle the aspect of wings very well. Maybe it's the concept of change?" She asked, shrugging slightly as her paws raked through the sand absent mindedly.
"I've been on the ground my entire life, suddenly being in the skies would be a task I don't think I am up for." She laughed, looking to the dry air above her for a moment.
"..As much as I would love to see the world from up there."

"Well, just like you would have an odd time with wings, I myself would probably feel awkward wingless - as I've always only known how to flutter up and walk down. I think it may also be that some are just afraid of change" the little god pointed out as his wings - as if having minds of their own - flickered a couple of times, like seeing if they were still there.
Watching the lady look up in the sky, he - himself - couldn't help but look upwards to see what she could possibly be watching, and basically saw nothing, sides the tops of the jungle's wall like trees swaying in the wind that only appeared to exist where the green appeared. Scrinching his face a bit when he heard her murmur her wishes for the sky, he sort of nonchaulaunty shrugged a bit "It's really nothing remarkably huge after the first few times. It's a lot of trees and water, and ground watching others run around liek nutcases under your feet. I much rather enjoy down here - the conversation is much nicer. Bird know not much that I can fathom." he joshed lightly, smiling.
"But the leaves at the top of the trees are cooler than the ones where the medium sized mortals can see." he noted, flickering an ear and still watching the tree tops, the tuft of black fur that emphasized the possibility of a mane flopping over his blue eye, hiding it from view, as the yellow one looked wildly. "Much more greener. Probably because nothing wants to eat it, unlike the poor grass."

"I bet the birds are a bit more than shocked to see a lion flying past them.." Ekevu laughed softly, somewhat jealous of the story he told of soaring over the landscape. He spoke so easily of flying, as if it were nothing more than something he had to do. Pushing the thoughts of jealousy aside, she nodded with interest, finding his observation logical.
"Or, nothing can, I suppose." Ekevu responded, looking back to the high tops of the trees and squinting. Now that Jamala had brought it up, she certainly could notice a difference, and see how much greener the leaves were. Why hadn't this been so easy to see before? It was so evident now, almost elementary. Smiling and shrugging it off, Ekevu returned to watching Jamala, her eyes meeting his one yellow one.
"It's the circle of life, though. That's what's supposed to happen!"

Looking up once again to the trees, his eyes glanced around with the direction that the almost forgotten winds took through them, before disappearing when the sands finally met it's wake - almost like an end of the line for the poor updraft. Hearing his acquaintance's ideas, he looked away and to her red eyes, before nodding - like one who had been thinking for hours.
"Maybe, but being one who has been displaced from the circle, such as myself, looking from the outside in always makes my head hurt - one moment, it doesn't make sense, and then the next - it does..." he drifted with his speach, as if coming from deep within him. "I mean, that circle is bound and shackled, or well.. that's how it sounds like when I hear about it.. and well, there's always parent, kids, love, life, age, death. One big unison of things to do before one perishes. But I never even had a parent. I just was here one day, and the day before I wasn't - so where do I .. eiir.. fit in?" he queried to nothing in particular, as his wings lowered to the hard sadny floor as his muzzle dipped into a frown as he thought more about it.
"Maybe gods are foreign. Or maybe we're here to muck things up.."

Listening curiously to his comments, Ekevu nodded in understand, pondering over the thought for a moment. It certainly was an interesting twist to think about.. where did the gods fit into it? Blinking in suprise at his last comment, Ekevu shook her head, smiling softly.
"No.. I'm sure gods fit into the circle, as well. You live, love, and die, don't you? Maybe not at the same time rate as mortals, but, at some point in time.." that made sense, right? Or, atleast, it did to her. It seemed logical, at any rate. Shrugging, Ekevu's smile faded, a bit displeased this problem was so difficult for her to understand. There was a simple solution to it, wasn't there? Or, maybe, this was the answer?
"I don't think, ever, that anybody's displaced from the circle. There has to be a place for all of us, including gods."
And to think, all of this conversation had started about the trees.

If lions had eyebrows, the little godling's would have been raised high, as his line of sight shifted back to her as she rambled off her personal opinions about what his idea of the circle of life were. Thinking to himself, whilst listening to the conversation - he found himself nodding to the war that his mind had started.
"Y'know.. I think you may be right. But I still think that some of us are seriously thrown in the grind to try and make a ruckus," he started, chuckling a bit and shaking him head lightly. "Some of the gods I've seen represent such unjoyous things - such as my twin, who is the Goddess of Sin, and I've met the lord of loneliness." he mused softly, before lifting his head high, dispelling all the thoughts and battles in his head.
"But on a different matter, do you also find it remarkably hot all of a sudden?"

"Sin? Loneliness?" The appeal of being a godly being faded quickly from Ekevu's mind, replaced by wonder and excitement of meeting more gods. Did your realm of rule affect your personality? Or, was it the other way around; did your personality in one life decide what realm you took in the next? It was definately worth looking into! ..As long as she didn't find out what her realm would be. Nothing good, likely. "But maybe, those realms need a god, and someone has to do it, anyway.."
Snapped out of her chain of thought by the switch in conversation, Ekevu nodded with a soft smile. "Why, yes, I do." she answered cooly, eyes falling to watch the sand between her feet as she kneaded it with a paw.
"Do you know why that is, or are you as baffled on it as I am?"

Not feeling up to paying heed or answering the mutters about the realm and the reasons for his existance - he quickly discarded out of his mind as his wings unfurled outwords in a show of white, blue and black feathers, shimmering in the high heat and sun as it pelted down on the two cublings.
Giving off a kind and noble smile to his partner as he looked behind them, to the slightly cooler and more welcoming presense in the eyes of the little god of Virtues. Returning his odd shaded gaze to the other, he smiled once more and finally answered her query of it. "I would suppose that, judging by how high our lordly sun is - it's about midday, and I always find it the hottest in the desert when it hits this time... And.. we are pretty dark furred." he mentioned, before noting to himself that he was much darker, and feeling the effects more.
Never the less, giving a bow, he looked to her before flashing a view at the grassier area. "The Shades would do us well until the sun has bowed for the day, ladies first?" he murmured - it was only in his nature to be more than chivalrous to a lass.

Admiring his wings once more, Ekevu could not help but admire the feathers, amazed by the sheer mass of the wings. They made him so light, and free from the ground, and yet seemed so heavy. Oh, the questions they drove her to ask! If Ekevu got to know him, or any gods, in a closer relationship, she'd definitely ask more questions. For now, though, something in the back of her mind told her to stop asking questions. For now.
"All true," she agreed, nodding her head in understanding with his logic. She prepared to make another comment, when Jamala bowed to her, throwing her off completely. Turning to the shaded areas, she smiled and nodded, heading in by his suggestion. Thankful to be out of the sun, and have a moment to calm herself from embarassing, Ekevu cooly shot back.
"Why thank you, sir!" She said with a slight giggle, turning back and smiling brightly at him. What chivalry the Gods had!
