Yep, my uncle and I are making me a bass. He's a very accomplished carpenter and has all the tools, left me to make the design and hardware choices. Gonna be a passive 4-banger, he pays for the woods and half the neck, I pay for the other half of the neck and all the hardware/electronics. Here's what goings on with it:
Body- Mahogony core with Cocobolo or Bubinga top and bottom with lane from with neck to bottom of mahogony with cocobolo stringers (Like a Peavy Cirrus if you've seen one)
Hardware- Bartolini 9CBJD pickups in Jazz configuration, Schaller 463 bridge, Gotoh Ultralite tuners, all in gold (cept for pups)
All in all, it's gonna cost me about $500, progress picks as soon as he starts work on it.

Yeah, it's much prettier with a smaller picture, not as fuzzy. So yeah, 4-string, Mahogony body with Cocobolo top and fret board, neck through, Bartolini Jazz pups, Schaller bridge, Gotoh Tuners, passive.

Sounds like that bass will play like a dream. You're using some good gear on that. I designed my custom to be built for pure power, but you've got a nice mix of power and flexibility!

TheDarkMercenary a** kicking capability is always useful! Hmmm, so, setback, I need to wait for my uncle to aquire some tool he needs. His prediction is that it'll be done sometime around New Years, but oh well, I think it'll be worth it.
