It would be expected for the highest point in a church to be a bell tower, looming high above the city. It would also be expected for Belladonna to be standing alone in this tower, leaning over a balcony and staring down at the quiet city...everything was so dark, and it was rather creepy up here.
Just the way Bella liked it.
How odd for this girl to have a soft spot, looking up from the city to the sky to watch the stars. Sometimes she wished she could reach them, just fly up there and catch a star to bring back with her to the earth. The green-haired girl smirked and shook her head, finding her own thoughts just...silly! It was impossible to catch a star, it was just a ball of gas millions of miles away! Of course, she was so caught up in her thoughts that anything that came up would probably scare the hell out of her.

It just so happened that she wasn't alone.
Himself, Nigel liked high places. He was overjoyed when he found the highest point in town. He was even more overjoyed when he learned that his caregiver didn't know about it. Creepy things didn't phase him, either.
The said young man was lounging in one of the gaps where the old rusted bell hung, swaying a few centimeters whenever a particularly harsh gust of wind caught it.
Right now, he was starting to doze off, the wind catching his dark green strands of hair and playing with them, along with the fishnets of his arms which hung loosely at his sides.

As much as Bella was enjoying this, the whole reason she had even come to the church tonight was to follow her caretaker's advice and meet new people. Even this little brat had to admit that it sometimes got lonely having no friends.
A soft noise tore her out of her reverie, looking around quietly. Was someone there? Brown eyes narrowed dangerously, finally looking up and nearly falling over in surprise. "Holy sh--what the hell are you doing up there?!"

In his almost asleep state, the young man nearly fell completely out of the belltower. Had he not have been living with such a catlike woman, he probably would have fell.
However, he managed to cling to the windowsill before falling, and hoisted his upper half back indo the tower.
"What'd it look like I was doing?" he snapped right back. His look loosened slightly as he saw a girl standing there, but he instantly let the look on his face harden back over.

Belladonna watched with amusement as the boy nearly fell, walking over to the windowsill and raising a brow. "Hm...I could always push you off...it's a pretty long fall from this point..." She glanced over the edge of the sill and smirked, turning back and finally getting a good look at the boy.
He was so...beautiful! For the first time in her entire life, Bella actually blushed! "What I want to know is how long you were up there!" She stammered, trying to regain her composure and narrowing her eyes at the boy. Hmph! Perhaps she should just toss him over the edge! Bella didn't want anyone to know she had a soft side!

As she looked at him, he narrowed his baby blue eyes slightly before hoisting himself over the side.
"Up here long enough to start falling asleep," he answered, noticing her blush and slight stammer. What was this girl's problem? Snorting, he hoisted himself up and over the edge, his heavy shoes clomping on the ground. He stood up to his full height, standing an inch or two above the girl (he was rather tall), and ran a hand through his hair. "How long have you been up here?"

"...Why should it matter how long I've been up here?" Damnit! Bella had no reputation around here yet! This boy better not ruin her chances of becoming the resident b***h. The green haired girl sighed in defeat and untied her hat, taking it off and letting her hair fall to its full length at the small of her back. She glanced over at the boy again and quickly turned away, just looking up at the sky again and watching a few bats fly into the tower.
"And here I thought I was the only one who enjoyed solitude. Everyone down there is so...loud!"

Nigel eyed her for a moment. She sure was being rather nasty to him, and without good reason, or so he figured. Leaning his forearm on the edge of the windowsill, he put his free hand on his hip as he gazed out of the window.
"It's not people that bother me. I can ignore them just fine. I just like being in high places, and this is the higest place I've found..."

Belladonna blinked at the boy's words, resting her elbows on the windowsill and just staring silently out at the horizon. ...Eh...might as well. "Belladonna..." She said, glancing at the green-haired boy in the corner of her eye.
Good God, he was so beautiful, even Bella was having a hard time being a good girl. Wait! Who wanted to be a good girl? It was so much more fun being the complete opposite!

It took him a moment before he realized that she'd just given him her name. After glancing down at her for a moment, before sighing and looking up at the starry sky above him.

She actually grinned when she heard Nigel tell her his name, idly tracing invisible patterns on the windowsill. It was actually rather nice having someone to talk to, and he was so hot too! "Well then, I'll know the name of the person to hurt if my future reputation as resident b***h is tarnished by the fact that I do have a soft spot." It was hard to tell whether or not Bella was joking around, but chances were it was an exaggeration of the truth.

He eyed her for another moment before leaning his entire weight on the sill, the old wood cracking to the protests of his weight. Not that he weighed too much, the sill just wasn't used to it. He was rather thin, but toned, as most Lolita boys were.
"Every now and then," he said with a shrug. "While I'm good at ingoring people, they still can get on my nerves. Especially my gardian." He sighed, shaking his head. "We'll leave it at that." He looked down at her again. "What about you?"

"Your guardian is horrible too?" Bella asked, a sudden light flashing through her eyes. "Can't be any worse than mine. She's a half demon and yet she doesn't even take advantage of that! She has seven other daughters and they're all so...annoying! They're always trying to get me to play with them and smile and laugh and gah! I can't stand them!" Belladonna tugged at her long green hair and sighed.

Nigel laughed.
"Aiko, she's half demon herself. She calls it being a 'neko hanyou', not that anyone really knows what that means. She's not Gaian native, which is why she's a little hesitant about the whole matter. Guess where she's from, hanyou weren't excepted... or something." He shrugged his shoulders.

"...Aiko?" Bella smirked. "Interesting, Eight has a pet called an 'Aiko' at her house...I think she's a Gaia native. But if my memory serves me right her mother wasn't, she came from some level of Hell I can't remember and was only supposed to be in Gaia for a few months to fulfill some duty." The girl winked. "But she got knocked up by some raccoon-man and, of course, Eight was born. Annnnnd seventeen years later I got stuck with her." She sighed and stared up with the night sky again. It was so beautiful at this time of night. Especially since the moon was almost full...
"How long have you been with Aiko?"
