| Introduction |

If you want to be in this guild and have a lot of fun you must obviously know how to RP. We of this guild frown upon one liners because it's well... just boring. You're telling a story and the joy of RPing comes from what happens, how the story flows and without enough details, your character can't develop realistically.

This guide will help you with your RPing if you just can't think of what to say.

It'll also help with writing the stories for any time skips we'll choose to have, since the more detailed and great the story is, the better stats you shall get. wink

| Do's and Don'ts of RPing |

So you want to take the first step to becoming a competent roleplayer? Here's a few things you have to take note of first.

For the purposes of example, my RP character will be Shamura Kosuke, a name I randomly made up on the spot. He is a struggling genin.

These are things you absolutely cannot, no way, definitely, otherwise you'll be ostracized forever and be a loner, never do.

#1) You don't post one-liners.
This guild disapproves GREATLY of one-liners. We need to be creative, people! I'm sure you can describe yourself training with more than 'kosuke heaved and tried again' or, even worse, ''kawarimi no jutsu!', 'kawarimi no jutsu!', 'kawarimi no jutsu!', 'kawarimi no jutsu!' again and again and again. And again.

Instead, you can write:

'Kosuke heaved, panting hard. He was tired and the pointless chakra exertion was taking its toll, but he couldn't stop. Not yet. Focusing his mind and making the hand seals, he tried doing the jutsu again. It had eluded him for so long, but it wouldn't now!

"Kawarimi no Jutsu!" he said determinedly.
'

And there we go! Yay! We have a descriptive passage!!

#2) Please use third person.
Here is this guild most of our members use third person, like so:

'Kosuke ran like the wind, hoping to get away from the enemy ninja as fast as he could. He wasn't strong enough, wasn't forceful enough, but he knew he could outrun the ninja...'.

Not first person, which is 'I ran like the wind, hoping to get away... etc.'

#3) No powerplay/bunnying. AKA controlling another person's character.
When you're talking to someone, or fighting, don't make them smirk when they haven't, or throw a kunai when they haven't. You can't go:

'"What are you looking at, huh?!" Kosuke demanded. "Turn that ugly smirk off your face, doober!"'

...when they haven't smirked at all.

Which brings us to the fourth point.

#4) Be patient.
Lots of people from all over the world are in the Way of the Ninja. Inevitably there may well be hours or maybe even a day between posts. So you have to be patient. If you talk to someone stay there until they reply to you, or write something like:

'Before receiving a reply he left. He was in a great hurry and couldn't afford to be seen talking to losers like that.'

You cannot, I repeat, cannot say something to the extent of 'when he didn't reply, I left'. That is powerplay. You haven't given him a chance to reply!

#5) Stay True
Please, stay true to your character! This is very important. If you are roleplaying an Academy student who is 8 years old, don't be trying to pick up chicks. You're 8! You should be scared of the opposite sex and fear cooties!.

#6) Add Detail
This will help with #1, a lot! If you have a hard time thinking and being creative, describe things. If your character walks into the first day of class and you simply post "Joey walks into the classroom. He finds a seat and sits down." Desribe things like how does Joey walk? Is he a smooth walker, does he have a bounce in his step? Another thing that may help you is describing his appearance. If it's his first day of school, he doesn't know anyone! So, we don't know what you look like. What color hair does Joey have? What clothes is he wearing? I could keep on going, but I'm sure you've had enough by now!

This is a follow up to the Do's and Dont's. Reserved

If I ever decide to use this, I will. Eventually. But I feel that all the examples are covered in the above post.
