Yes or maybe some just want to make a point that there are straight people that support gay people. Why it should still matter, I dunno.

But my friend is like that. She's okay with me being gay but she hate the fact that gay people use the rainbow as their symbol. She says that she cant wear rainbows because of that. So I asked her why it matter and I told her that she shouldn't worry about what other people think about her if she wears rainbows. She knows who she is and what other people think shouldnt matter.

But she's hard headed and still doesn't wear rainbow stuff. =_=

how do you feel about the rainbow being a symbol of the gay community?

lol glad I can be thought provoking blaugh

Anyways, I think it's awesome! I love having the rainbow as our symbol but I just think that straight people shouldn't be afraid to wear the rainbow just because it's our pride symbole. Though I think the rainbow in itself could be a great way to show unity of all types of people like the unity of colors that the rainbow has.

Maybe that could change overtime. Who knows. whee

I like it as our pride symbol. Saying you can't wear the rainbow because you're straight is like saying you can't wear pink because no one you know has/had cancer and such.

I like it as a symbol, too: It means unity and even harmony between those that are different. THat's the reason the gay community CHOSE the rainbow, after all... I think.

Well, think about it. They all different and yet the same. All the colours. Because they seperate only in a prism, which is like the seperation from souls in celestial plain as one with no gender to soul in body with gender. We're one in the same, and yet different as well.

At least I think that made sense. lol

What's wrong with it? It seems fine to me. I'm straight (and a guy) and I wear pink and stuff all of the time. Doesn't bother me. It's snazzy.

my little brother is 11 and pink is his favorite color. 3nodding he told my mom he was gay, but then he told her that it only applied of valentines day, so he and his friend could be valentines. lol, how cute is that?

Hahaha, that's one of the funnier things I've heard, recently. That kid's going to end up like myself and my two best friends at this rate.

I think people are more afraid that they will be mistaken for gay and be hit on due to latent homophobia

Very true. At least, for most. Then are the ones that don''t care if they get hit on or not.

I think I rather like the idea of getting hit on by people of a different sexuality! Its funny cause at school there is a competition with like 2 or 3 girls fighting for my attention, or so I've been told! Sadly they don't know I don't swing that way wink ! blaugh
