Please reply to the questions in your Small Group Thread! That way you can discuss it with the other members!

This will include -

• Current theme or passage to discuss
• A reflection on that
• Past Studies

How to discuss the theme or passage

Firstly, read the passage or research the suggested passages for the theme and any others you feel are connected. Then, consider what are the key things you've noticed and write a little summary of what you've found. Also consider the series of questions that follow and respond to those, telling your small group what you think and listening to what the others suggest.

N.B. - I use NIV usually, so the phrasing of the questions will relate to that.

Theme 1 - Trials and Temptations

P***age - James 1: 2-18

• Verses 2-4 - What is the value of perseverance? Knowing that having faith it produces patience, & letting patience do its work we should lack for nothing.
• Verses 5-8 - Wisdom is a gift from God. What do you think the verses are saying about it? If we lack wisdom, we shoulg ask God for it because He gives it away liberally without reproach. We are to ask in faith, with out any doubt. Because with doubt we are being double minded and unstable.
• Verses 9-11 - How do these verses tie into the p***age? Well if we're like the rich man who basically is more concerned of his rish, we will wither away as a flower in the field. Possible be dead inside, and perish away.
• Verses 12-15 - What does this tell us about trials and temptation and God? That if we have faith in God through all are trials & temptations, we will receive eternal life with God. And receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Because God is a loving God and a forgiving God. But, He also gave us free will & if we give into that then we turn our backs on Him & sin begins to grow. If this continues to happen it will bring fourth death.
• Verses 16-18 - What does this tell us about God's gifts and God? That every thing good that happens to us comes from God. If we follow His word and follow by His example we will prosper, because He is a giving God and He wants us to be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
