How do you like your bass to sound? Clean and original or with distortion? Discuss?

It matters the mood of the song. Some songs sound better and more clean without distortion, but heavier mooded songs sound better with distortion

I need to get an overdrive pedal! I have to use a friends guitar amp with overdrive already on it. And I have to play softly otherwise I might blow it.... i like to play stuff like Dawn patrol and sweet child o mine clean but other stuff like pullin teeth sounds better distorted

I do have an overdrive and distortion pedal, and it's fun to use...but I didn't pay for a great sounding bass so it can be covered in covered in fuzz all the time.

I personally hate putting my bass on overdrive unless the song really calls for it. I do have an effects pedal too, but I never use it. Only for goofing off.
I love my bass clean razz

Definitely clean... It sets the bass different and apart from the low, guitar distorted pieces... Though you can have some fun when you put on the distortion...
