It had taken some convincing... though Kama assured him he was not a slave, not property...those rotting in jail had more freedom. And dignity in Jim's opinion. The teen had to have every good excuse to step out of the house anymore. With Tayn back in the house he wasn't needed to get groceries or run errends anymore. He was kept in the house to rest, to heal, and try to work himself out when he could...
He looked better than he had physically, but the dark circles around his eyes and the drag to his step betrayed his mental condition. He sat on the steps up to a resteraunt, sprawled out with his head resting against the ledge of the stone planters, eyes shut. He already had a few quarters and bills tossed at him, many mistook him for a street bum or beggar, dressed in rags and no intent to change it.
Formally, he'd been a common sight, mainly a blur followed by the local law inforcement.

Bay was stolling past the buildings with a uplifting mood that he didn't really feel, whistling as he went. There were jivvins everywhere today, walking, chatting, eating, throwing coins at unconcious jivvins... hhmmm. Or not.
Bay strolled past the teen on the steps... he did look like he was asleep but the breathing pattern wasn't right for slumber... the kid was pretending... and he also wasn't a beggar, so the coins should bother him... but they didn't seem to, but Bay kept on stolling by... for a moment.
After a short walk he turned and came back at the restauraunt from the back. After entering the establishment through the backdoor, giving a kind nod to the cook, pocketing two loaves of cheese bread, and pausing to pat a jivvin child on the head, Bay left the restauraunt through the front door and paused behind the 'sleeping' teen.
He didn't say anything, and he didn't even acknowledge the teen really... instead he bent and gathered all the coins on the ground, and placed them carefully, one by one, in a handkerchief pulled from his pocket... now the kid wasn't a beggar... instead Bay was a performer... and he knew that the kid was awake and would know he was there, heck, he was 'accidentaly' standing in the kid's light.... and talking to a puppet O.o ... and jivvins had stopped to watch. "Hello Jivvsy. How are you today?" and as usual, the puppet responded, "I have a headache today you fool, leave me alone."

Jim wasn't so much pretending as he was simply enjoying the time away from Kama and resting himself where his mind could be at some ease. Axel couldn't see him like this, not just yet. Just some rest and he'd be right as rain. He was well aware of the coins and bills being trown occassionally at him, either to see if he'd stirr or out of pity.
The first time the jester past by went as ignored as he was to the older jivvin. Just another passer by, good he didn't kick him on the way into the resteraunt or stomp on his tail...however the second time around roused the resting teen, cracking a dull green eye to watch the jivvin gather up the coins. Not that it was much of a big deal... not with what he was making though by unfortunate means.
The performance was more interesting and gained a groan and both eyes opening to watch. For the moment in confused and almost humored silence...the phuck was this about?

With a silly flippant grin Bay stuck his tounge out at the puppet. "Oh have you, you silly thing." He turned his head and somehow managed to cross his arms while still keeping the puppet alert. "Well then I will leave you alone and not tax your weary head any, however I leave you with the thought that without my company you might yet get lonely." Bay raised an eyebrow at the wooden jivvin head. "However if it's both company AND quiet tact you're looking for, perhaps this young chap here would be of a better choice."
With a theatrical turn he flipped his posture around so he was facing Jim, but it wasn't the tall fool that was the center of attention now, it was the puppet. "He looks as if he might also have a headache and therefoe might also have quiet and peaceful conversation high on his current list of daily activities... He's..." Bay paused with and placed a hand on his head... "Why I don't know what he is... What's your name chap?"
The puppet just gave a wooden sigh.

Jim, for a moment, simply watched with his mouth half, parted and eyes raised in a confused yet groggy look. One of his eyes was darkened a bit around it, and his lip cut. If the 'jester' took a closer look, his right wrist was banded with a cold 'bracelet' of some sort, burnt, swollen, cut, and bruised around the overly-tight device.
He simply watched the game before answering, even then he took quite a bit to look around himself, sit himself up, dust off slightly, and give both the wooden toy and the idiot a look that betrayed his thoughts- both of them, and of being woken up. "It's Jim." he said simply, dryly...

"See?" Bay turned and grinned at the puppet, talking to it as if Jim wasn't sitting right there. "His name is Jim and he really doesn't wish to talk to anyone... You'll be the best of friends in no time, for you both seem to have the same interests." Then withought warning he camply plopped himself down on the steps beside the teen and turned away from him, one leg crossed over the other at the knee, the weed flowers at the side of the building seeming to demand all his attention.... But the puppet?
The puppet sat woodenly beside Jim, staring off into the airwaves left by the passersby... one might actually suspect that the puppet was trying it's best to ignore both Bay and Jim, but.... "That fool's more than he seems..." The puppet turned to Jim... "He's also a monumental a** for interfering in the affairs of people he has no business talking to." And then the puppet went back to staring at the jivvins walking by.
Bay, while appearing to watch the flowers, was studing the feeling he was getting from Jim... He had extreme problems in diagnosing things these days, and it was more Jim's attitude and facial expressions (plus the visible scrapes and cuts and bruises) that led him to the conclusion that the kid was in pain... both physical and mental. But there was little or nothing Bay could do about that right now...

The boy watched the game from the steps dryly, now and then sparing a glance out towards the onlookers. He hated being the center of any kind of attention, or rather, in this case, part of the show. He rolled his eyes with a heavy sigh, a bit louder though intended to prove his obvious discomfort with the situation and annoyance.
When the Jivvin took a seat beside him he pretended not to notice... that is until the puppet itself started to speak.
Jim looked down sharply, his eyes widening down at the toy. "....******** might be able to sense a few of the other things running through him. They were strong enough. A stubborn pride, bruised ego, but past all that there was something else... a sense of responsability. He was protecting something, or at least in his mind he was.

At the obsenity uttered from Jim's lips the puppet jumped and Bay barked a laugh. In a moment the puppet was out of sight and in Bay's back pocket, and Bay was kneeling on the ground picking up the handkerchief and it's partially spilled contents. "Such words from your mouth..." He tutted loudly... "You may need better nouns."
He slowly turned and sat back down beside Jim, the money in the cloth balled up in his fists. "I mean, when you think about it, the work ******** is monumentally overused... it's both Noun and Verb, sometimes Adjective, and even a personal pronoun or two when used in the right connection to othe words..." He paused and seemed to think for a moment before nodding his head as if her agreed and then turned his full attention to Jim.
"You hungry?" He nodded his head at the restaraunt behind them and opened the handkerchief with the coins in it... "Your treat."

"I didn't need it broken down for me, tinkerbell." He snapped, I know what it means... I'm not in the best of moods right now.
He shifted himself, leaning his elbows on his knees and slouching over himself. Food... it sounded good. And why let good pity money go to waste. "...food." He scoffed, "What did you have in mind?"

Bay leaned back and looked around him. "Nothing. I had absolutely nothing in mind... well actually, I was thinking over a number of things, though none of them had anything to do with food." He stopped and thought a second. "I am hungry though. You choose the place, and whatever you want." There was deffinitely enough money in the cloth for at least one person to eat pretty much anything around nearby, and Bay had the money he'd earned fixing old Mala's window this morning... He also had quick hands and would easily make the money in his pocket find it's way into the cloth if it was needed.

(( c_C Soooo sorry I've been slow! I started school and got new a new job xd PRomise I'll be good this time)) Jim stiffly rose to his feet, instantly tucking his hands down into the raggy old jacket of his and slouching over himself. His dark eyes moved between the resteraunts nearby through the gruffy bangs hanging down over his eyes. Pizza? Naw, that was Axel and his thing. Kind of a buddy thing they did whenever they managed to scrape up enough. There was a burger place nearby that wasn't half bad, endless fries too. That was always a plus.
"How 'bout that place?" He nodded over towards the burger stand, "And am I gonna have to listen to you babble to your muppet the whole time?"
