I know a lot of you are probably into divination. I am, and have been for quite some time now.
I work quite well with pendulums, and also greatly enjoy tarot. I also have derived many of my own forms of divination. I also read into many things, such as smoke patterns from insence, the pattern in which a candle flame ebbs and flows, and a sort of divination involving holding somthing and following whichever way it draws you.

If anyone would like to discuss divination or ask any questions relating to the matter feel free to post here!

I'm a tarot reader, and I also work with pendulums. I do quite well with both.

I've also found, though, that boiling dark water (such as a walnut dye) in a black pot makes amazing steam ripples on the surface, that could likely be read, but I've never been able to.

I'd also like to learn to read tea leaves.

I've done tea leaf readings before... they're pretty cool, except for the fact that I tend to not particulary like darker teas.

But as far as tea leaf reading, you need a darker tea, generally some sort of black tea, I usally used oolong tea. I just rip a tea bag open and dump it in a cup of boiling water. Also, use a light colored cup, it makes the tea leaves show up a heck of a lot better, and cups that are rounded also tend to work better than other cups, such as coffe mugs. Drink the tea, then when theres about two or three tablespoons of water left in the cup swirl the cup around, counter-clockwise in your left hand, whilst thinking of your question. Turn the cup upside-down on a saucer to drain the remaining water, then turn it over and examine the patterns in which the leaves clumped. See if you can pick out any formations that look like some sort of object or symbol. Try and interpet the symbol to see if you can find if it holds any relevance to the question. Also, certain ares of the cup represent different aspects. The area around the cup handle (if the cup has a handle) represents the home, family, and domestic matters. The area twoards the top of the cup represents emotional things, and I believe that the bottom of the cup represents careeer and such, but I'm not entirely sure about that bit.

I read the tarot. I invented my own spread and am currently working on a book on it.

My HPs said I have a real talent for reading the tarot. smile

Thanks for the info on tea reading. I'll have to try that sometime.

XiangMiyu, what is your spread like? I tend not to use spreads, instead I draw cards and lay them in a line, and read them like a story. I've gotten high regards on my readings in my shop. smile

mrgreen User ImageUser Image I recently made another stop at the occult book/supply store and spent an hour talking with the lady there about which tarot deck would be right for me, and I walked out with a gothic tarot deck by Joseph Vargo, and have been studying a book by Emily Peach ever since. For other divinations, I like to close my eyes so I see darkness and scry into the images I see there, or perhaps into a night sky. 3nodding

i'm reading lots about the runes, i have crafted my own set of them but yet need to start some divination.

I do Tarot. I'm still fairly new at it, but I'm deadly accurate. I still have to read the little guide book that came with them.

Pendulums are easy to practice. I use a dragon pendant I own. It has all the astrological symbols (libra, scorpio, leo, gemini...etc) and 5 red rhine stones that would connect for a pentagram. Only paid $9 for it.

I've considered making my own runes, but I'd need to know what they all are, and I'd need stones. Never thought much about reading tea leaves, though.

I can post some of my tarot readiings, if you'd like. I record them just in case something happens with the person(s) involved in it.

Haha... I've had my Tarot cards for over two years now, and I still havn't memorized the entire deck! I also keep a record of most of my readings, and looking back on the records, many that I've done in the past seem amazingly accurate!

Also, I often use necklaces as pendulums. They work pretty well, and are great for when I don't have one of my normal pendulums onhand.

Using a pendulum sounds very interesting. However, I've never heard of it before. Could someone please explain it(just the basics) for me? If so, it would be very much appreciated.

A pendulm is basically just a weight(such as a bead, coin with a hole, etc.) on a string, ribbon, chain, or basically just somthing that will swing around. What I find works best for me is a crystal bead attached to a strand of my hair.

Basically you hold it by the string, keeping your hand steady and unmoving. Then ask your pendulum a question, and it will answer yes of no by swinging around.

However, before you're able to use your pendulum, you must 'train' it. To train it you hold it by the string. Ask a simple question that you know the answer to, like 'Am I a boy?' watch the pattern in which the pendulum swings(hold your hand steady while doing this, it should swing around on its own). Ask a few more questions that you know the answer to and see which patttern means yes and which means no. There is no universal pattern for yes or no... some pendulums will swing side to side, clockwise, counter-clockwise, back to front, north to south, etc. so you'll just have to learn the rythm of your pendulum.

Pendulums are not only used for yes or no questions, but to locate missing objects as well. Say you lose somthing in your room, you can stand in the center of the room and ask the pendulum to point out where the item is. This locating skill also comes in handy when me and my mom get lost while driving (which happens quite a lot...)

Those are the basics for pendulums! ^_^

Oh, I made my own runes. Walmart sells a large bag of flat, roundish stones for like, 5 bucks. And you can find the runes on the internet pretty easily, or in a book, for that matter. I haven't really gotten around to reading runes yet, but they're made when I do! smile

And that's a good idea, keeping track of your readings. I do the same thing!

I'm trying to learn how to use my L shaped brass dowsing rods. How do you use them to measure auras and the activity of chakras on people?

I've never heard of dowsing rods being used for such poruposes, but I suppose it's quite possible.

I still need to make myself a pair of dowsing rods...
