Here is the setting for this one.
Region: Japan area, though in a new dimension
Japan has been in a differant dimension since a hyperdrive prototype malfunctioned 70 years ago. the JDF was quickly smashed by the superior technology of the Oni. Japan now is a waste land of gangs and small factions. The yakuza have become the largest faction in Japan.
The Caticlysm brought about several mutations and mass psycosis in areas while leaving others untouched. Some of the mutations were benifical, allowing humans to interface directly with computers. this led to the devolpment of the Jack-link system which controls the battle suits and hover tanks that are humanities sole edge against the might of the oni.
You are a new (choose from mercinary/soldier/scientist/assassin/psychotic/gang member) in Neo Osaka. The city is one of the border cities of Fire Dragoon's teritory. His forces swept out of a small arpegio (string of islands) a mere 3 years ago. they have since conquered a large part of Japan.
