Apparently the polls were fixed and no longer give as much gold. Are you still stuck in your pollwhoring ways? O:

I like that there's a page that explains how to get gold.
Seeing as newbies ask this question all the time~ This should really help 'em out. :3
I'm still reading up on this and figuring out what actually changed. So I don't have very many discussion tags.

I wish I could turn off the gold charter. I never really cared where the gold came from just as long as it came.
Polling value is clearly not what it use to be but my mule tacolove is planing a lot of fun activites where you can win gold for this guild I hope users will play and gain enjoyment from the guild more then ever.
Helping out newbies is nice how it will help the ecomomy? We will have to wait and see.

I really dont like it.
This is a menace to all Poll Whores.
I polled and it gave me 3 gold... polled again... 1 gold... polled about 30 minutes later... 1gold.
I really liked the old polls much better. I miss them.

I'm interested in seeing how this affects the economy... part of the problem with the current inflation was having too much gold in the economy... and the new polls should slow down gold production.
I also want to know if more people will start donating to the site to make more gold. PX
...Which would flood the market and lower the price of sealeds...
As to Kohana's post~
There was a time when there was no wait inbetween taking polls and you got 10g every time. ...So I thought there wasn't anything to fix with the system they had before but...
I already miss the old polling system and I've barely been online for an hour. ;.;
I have to start doing other things for my gold addiction. .___.
...People are saying that the system hasn't changed, and that we're just more aware of it now...
But I used to watch my gold before... and I'm certainly earning less gold for polling/posting, but more gold for lurking.

Has anyone noticed that rare items seem to pop up less frequently , i mean i havent had a giftbox / chest in ages and ages ! or is that me just rambling ...

One account can get up to 200g each day from doing two/three of the gold tasks a day. This amount is far higher then a mule normally gets. This kind of gold intake can not be neglected.
Answer back to raw: Yes, it does sound fun and should start in a week or so once things get worked out. I might start an announcement sticky for stuff like this; of course I will address this later. We also can’t forget the guilds birthday that is impeccability close.
I believe some gold is just being displaced. It’s clear that the admids are pulling favors toward the ‘1 Hour User’ they have always done this but it’s more notable now. Do you think they would go back if this doesn’t work well for the economy or is this counter just a set up for a new feature that they have yet to tell us of?
Selling DI’s might become more apparent It would flood the DI’s and it’s not like it’s the first time it’s been done. It actually happened to the Kiki’s and for it’s popularity there are at a low price range because of the over buying of letters. I hope this month is a good one. Only time will tell.

I don't think they'll go back, because they claim nothing has changed and you're just more ''aware" of the numbers than you were before.
I really don't know why they'd need the counter for a new feature, especially since you're allowed to turn it off... but that is something to think about...

Err... I just got 14 gold for voting. I'm not sure I got as much gold from poll whoring as I should have been. Not to say I was glitched or anything. I was led to believe that you're given something like 5g per vote and that if you post a certain amount of times you are given 10g per vote. I never noticed anything of the sort be it true or not. ^_^ Whatever. Polling is still fun.
I'm not really sure I like being told about all the gold I earn. Kind of takes the fun out of it. If I really needed to see how I earned gold I would have rather it been given in the form of an electronic bank statement. Who really cares that much though? And I have to agree with Crunchy over there. ^_^ I'm certainly not interested in how much gold I make for lurking. Even for posting. If I make over a hundred gold for something obscure... fine, let it tell me why. Otherwise it's just another graphic my computer needs to load.

The admins are on a roll... it'll be very disappointing the month they release something stupid. 2006 has been a good year. =]hmmm what i am insinuating could happen is that if there is more gold floating about , which i think there is ( i never use to get 14 gold for surfing and other miscelleanous tasks like that) then prices of items are going to increase , my worry is that these prises will increase at a quicker rate to which the gold is being earned , but hey am just brainstorming. The site is becoming more noob friendly , perhaps because the older members are drifting away and we are seeing an increase in noobs. However rather than helping the noobs perhaps as you say we are just fueling them with more questions @_@. i still think they need to hire some more people on the site , perhaps a team who just deals with storylines , another with profiles or something? or does that already happen...whatever but think their eforts are having to be spread over a large area. ^_^ ==II. thanks for the link will try it .II==

Agreed. Gives me a reason to open a thread in that sub-forum.
Well I did know the old rate because i did read the sticky on it and they are right the rate didn't change a lot but the first numbers did. If you think of it that way it's helping us get more gold then before.
Create it idiot proof and they create a new idiot. Another thing to add to the mix is with the change of gold accumulation will the economy not bubble over? I don’t want to pay 5k for a bug only because we get gold easier...I always thought a way for the economy to go down is to make it so we get less gold then the prices will drop because gold will be harder to get for high priced items. Sorry to say that theory would of worked perfectly in 2004 but not really now...too much users.
2006 has been a very good year for many items. I was surprised on how they are doing. They have had three years to practice XD I guess they are finally getting a hang of it.
There are a lot of DI’s like that the letter was celebrated more then the item inside so the price had a major flux. The good DI’s of 2006 could be at fault for the rising prices of the new letters. In that respect I hope the DI is bad XD

@Oulixeus: Yeah~ I heard that it you needed 1000 posts before you could poll and get 10g for a while before it tapered down...
XD As of right now~ I still get a kick out of that gold coin bouncing every time I earn some, but I'm sure I'll turn it off soon.
I agree that it seems pointless right now, but as Karma said, maybe they'll release another feature that'll make this one useful~ =P
@gobs: Ah yes, I do think that the increase in lurking gold or "surfing" gold is releasing enough into the economy to make up for the poll gold that's being taken out... Good point. ^^
I swear everyone looks back to their own join date and think that there were less n00bs then. ...Maybe even if they weren't a n00b themselves, they just didn't explore the whole site to see everyone..
...Or as we get more games, less people are interested in the forums and we are attracting people who think Gaia is a game~
I think Gaia has slowly been hiring more staff members as they go... but they've still all got a lot of work on their hands. ^^;;

Theoretically the prices should go down, with less gold in circulation and less people able to afford the high prices in the marketplace. ...But as long as people are willing to get the gold to buy at those high prices, the sellers will sell them for that price. (>.> XD)
They also seem to be listening to what the users want. x]

hmm~ now i have to agree with the other guy on this one i definately didnt get gold for pm's before , well i did but i assumed it was because a new screen appears and the page is refreshed as you send a pm...i mean it was like 2 gold and i thought that counted as 'surfing' money...or doesnt it ditto for commenting in profiles anyways there was no statement before where you definately got money for those things ...and now you do..@_@

I really hate this because I post and vote alot. It used to be the less members on the more gold is given out but now you get alot of gold for your first poll or post but then you get...1...1...1...1...1...1...its so annoying unless they lower prices we will all be poor soon! I hate this! evil
