I like to have my strape as loose as it goes, Over my pelvs or below... I feel the most comfortable with my arms straight. The Bass is basically Horizontal. And I sometimes widen my stance and bend over when I'm jamming. I barely raise the neck at all unless I'm reaching a high note

I shortend my strap so that I could get my bass higher. I feel most comfortable like that. Also I like to slap with my thumbs pointing up, so it makes most sence to me. I feel that playing up high encourages better technique, Im less likely to hit the strings into the pick ups because of the way my right hand sits over the bass.

~Simone-chan~ I like to have my strape as loose as it goes, Over my pelvs or below... I feel the most comfortable with my arms straight. The Bass is basically Horizontal. And I sometimes widen my stance and bend over when I'm jamming. I barely raise the neck at all unless I'm reaching a high note That's pretty much how I hold it, but not all the way down. I am a big guy so it is always more comfortable for me to play with straight arms. Plus, I use my fingers to play and rarely a pick so it works out for me.

It doesn`t matter to me...I perferably like it down by my crotch when playing bass, but on guitar I like it up higher around my stomach.

I refuse to play while standing up. It pisses my band members off to know ends, or, it did while we had a band.
I have a twenty five pound guitar, and I don't want back problems.

Right, back problems.... Anyways, I play kind of akward, my bass is either laying across my right hip, so my torso is twisted a little to the right to hold it, or over my junk with the head up around my shoulders. I switch back and forth, they both seem really comfortable to me.

Aahz Right, back problems.... Anyways, I play kind of akward, my bass is either laying across my right hip, so my torso is twisted a little to the right to hold it, or over my junk with the head up around my shoulders. I switch back and forth, they both seem really comfortable to me. I can't tell if those first three words were comprehensive, or just plain d**k-ish. Yes. Back problems. It's what happens when your strap is broken and you can't afford a new one because you don't have ajob.

You shouldn't be expected to play standing without it.
