Kiva had kept her word, following Kamilika and Bijan all the way back to the Pridelands. For the sake of their comfort, however (as Bijan seemed hardly fond of Kiva), the young goddess had flown on overhead instead, keeping an eye out from above. Once the two had arrived at the borders Kiva lingered a bit longer before setting out, sending her new found friend a farewell for now.

Well, later had come, and here Kiva was, returning to the Pridelands. She wasn't sure where to begin searching for Kami if she just used her eyes, ears, and nose, oh no. There was actually a very convinient and perfectly good perch up ahead though? Pride Rock, standing in all it's founded glory, would make an excellent vantage point.

Unity's keeper flipped back her wings to slow her approach, letting her hind legs, and then her forepaws gently touch down on the already-sun-glanced surface of the monument, folding her wings. As she glanced about the land her indigo eyes warmed over, a matching smile slowly gracing her maw.

Your home is certainly a rich one, Kami, and with that, her smile turned into an all out grin as her words sought Kamilika's very heart. are you free, dear? I simply came by for a visit to see how you were, but I can return at another time if this isn't the best moment. You'll find me atop of Pride Rock if you wish.

-Kiva wouldn't have to wait for long for a reply, for despite the short distance between them, the message and soft tug of emotions within Kami's heart rang loudly through the golden lioness. Ears lifting softly as if the call could actually be heard from them a smile touched her features, and she turned to her father expectantly.-

"There is someone I'd like you to meet!"

-The sudden statement was out of place, seemingly bizzare and out of nowhere as the two had slowly meandered their way across the savannah. But he'd obliged with a nod, more in awe that his shy daughter might have actually met someone. And he followed after her larger strides allowing him to keep up with her young and excited pace. Towards pride rock they headed? Mufasa's eyes lifted curiously.-

((I'll hold off on replying to the Tai Muffy one for now, I don't want to totally swamp you between four RP's. xd sweatdrop ))

She smiled as she felt the tug of delighted emotions returned, and moved closer to the edge that the pointing ledge of the rock faced, gazing out from the high peak, past the lip below. She could make out two figures making a fast approach, and settled onto her haunches to wait. She would need be cautious of her wording, to be sure not to give away anything that perhaps she shouldn't. She'd wait now, until Kami arrived with... her father? It was a strong tie, and his heart felt more weathered, though kind still none the less. She could only guess, though, and left the facts to her friend to explain upon arriving.

((*giggles* Feel free to reply to them whenever. The worst that'll happen is I'll put them off to answer until later. biggrin

*Worries about Muffy's reaction* whee ))

-Kami lead happily, not even taking into account that the call might be something of her own imagination. Something she wanted to hear as opposed to something she was actually hearing. But the hope that the goddess had bestowed upon her had only grown within the lioness.

She wanted to tell her that she'd found Ta. That they were friends again. That all was well and forgotten between her and her family. That the children were safely tucked away with Tefu, happy and healthy from what she'd heard. But mostly, that she was happy, genuinely happy.

Before she knew it she'd reached the rocks, and she began to lead her father up the rocks, calling out cheerfully.- "Kiva?"

-Following a few steps behind, the old king kept his eyes on his daughter as she moved, missing for now the creature that rested atop the rocks. He was intruiged by his daugther's reaction really, but as the two lions reached the edge of the rock ledge, his eyes focused on the goddess. And he stalled suddenly.

Truely he was seeing things in his old age. He had to be. Those old wives tales couldn't be correct.-

((Oh dear, xd I hope he'll be alright!))

Kiva, who had never doned a disquise before in all her years in watching over the "mortals", could not have anticipated the harm she might or might not do to the older lion's mindset.

As Kami came into view, Kiva turned, smiling at both, bright enough to match the sun (though his followers would likely protest this statement to be untrue.). The younger-appearing goddess gave a joyus purr and moved forward to meet the other, buffetting her forehead against Kami's in greeting.

"Kamilika, it's good to see you again!" The adolescent greeted warmly, waiting until Kami had introduced the other. "You look well!"
PostPosted: Tue Aug 29, 2006 11:20 am

-Kiva's purr was matched with a rumbling purr from the heiress as she moved forward for the affection, greeting her joyfully.- "I didn't think you'd come again so soon! But I'm glad you did. I'm doing quite well."

-She nodded quickly, taking to the goddess just as she had in the past, as if they were sisters, and she wanted to spill all the girly details of her life to her. To giggle and be joyful, and simply spend time talking, in a way that seemed so comfortable with the young goddess. But for now there was something more important she turned gently to face her father.- "Kiva, this is my father, Mufasa. Dad, this is Kiva. The goddess of unity..."

-Her voice trailed gently as she watched the confused look that seem plastered upon her father's face.-

-It was bizzarre, a soft bristling of pride and joy as he saw his daughter act so brightly and affectionately. And yet the creature that she spoke to nagged his mind. Goddess...

They were actually true? He couldn't believe.. and yet.. here was one right in front of him. How could he have gone all these years without seeing one if they truely exsisted? Why... why did they exsist? He was silent, before finally he nodded his head in a silent and respectful greeting.-

Kiva's smile just grew a bit more as her friend returned, not only the affectionate greeting, but the happy energy that caused such a joyus outburst. It made Kiva's heart swell so much to see Kami so delighted, since it seemed all too fresh in her memories that she'd come by the lioness so much in need of someone just to talk to. She was glad that Kami had returned home, as well, she was sure that being with her family had greatly attributed to that joy.

Oh, and Kiva was dying to hear the details! She wanted to hear from Kami's own voice that things with her friend were alright again, as Kiva could feel the strength of the bond restored, but somehow it just wasn't the same as hearing her friend say it. Her enthusiastic curiosity was put suddenly on hold, however, as she was reminded that someone else was with them. Suddenly Kiva seemed to tone down quite a bit, bitten by a bit of shy modesty.

Kiva turned, pivoting her body to an angle with which she could face Kami's father respectfully, smiling quietly.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mufasa..."

Was it just her...? Or was his reaction a bit..........

Surprised?

~Well, maybe he's never seen a goddess before, there are those who don't know you exist, don't forget!~ And Kiva suddenly flattened her ears, eyes flashing with uncertainty. She really hoped she hadn't unnerved anyone by coming here so unannounced. She didn't want anyone to be uncomfortable. Maybe she should have used a disquise or something?

"I'm sorry that my visit is so sudden, I'd promised Kami I would come by to see her, and, meet some of her family. You're very lucky to have such a kind daughter, sir, she's very kind hearted."

Ah, and here she was rambling now...
PostPosted: Tue Aug 29, 2006 9:26 pm

-The old king stared for another long moment, watching softly as the goddess tried to dig up polite words for him, realizing suddenly just how rude his own greeting had been. Whatever he thought was something to be sorted out another time, for now he'd have to listen to his own rules of the land.

Everyone was equal.

So he should treat the goddess that way, and not continue to stare at her like a fool. Soft smile finally ticking upon his golden maw, he bowed his head once again in apology, a nervous laugh slipping from him.- "Forgive my rudeness Kiva. You see.... I was always under the impression that stories of... 'your kind'.. were nothing but wives tales. But it seems there are always things to learn and see, even as old as I am."

-Kami had looked between the two softly, momentary uneasiness settling upon her, just as the meeting between Kiva and Bijan. However as words finally slipped from her father, her smile grew brightly, and she chirped up lightly.- "Kiva helped me find my way back home while I was gone."

"She's my friend." -A simple statement, and yet it seemed to hold so much weight, both in the eyes of the daugther and her father.-

She seemed relieved by his words, no longer feeling so much as if she'd offended him, and immediately felt guilty afterwards for thinking that way though goodness knew why. She was young yet, and secretly, much like Kami, had a habit of taking the blame for things like that.

"Not at all! And I have to admit, I generally try to stay out of other's way. It's always been something of an unspoken rule, I guess, but, lately it seems like more and more of us are wanting to stretch our wings."

~Some of us, more often than not, causing trouble for our own amusement, intentional or not.~

Kiva's thoughts didn't have a chance to stay that way, though, at Kami's statement. Her smile warmed further, and she glanced to the other fondly and nodded. "Yes, and a very good friend to me as well. I'm very happy for you all, being together again like this..." And she really, truely meant that with all of her heart. "I was just happy to be able to help." She smiled, much with the innocent joy and pride that a youth might who'd just been congratulated on a job well done.

-Finally pulling himself futher along the rocks, he let himself take in the view of the young goddess, wondering softly if despite her appearance, she was perhaps older then he?

And for a moment his mind drifted to his mate, wistfully thinking of his mate if she were a goddess. How she would keep her happiness, health, and youth. But then.. what would happen when the time had come when he once again joined the circle of life? What a horrible burden to carry.. no wonder the gods stayed so far away from the mortals.

To have to live a life that streched the edges of time.. and loose all those around you time after time was a curse.. not a blessing.

But he didn't let these thoughts leave his mouth, instead smiling once again softly.- "I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciate it."

((Blehhh.. braindead for Kami post. XD So if you see this before I edit it, feel free to post. And if you want to wait, I'll try to think up something while I'm at school. ))

Kiva smiled again, nodding her head. "You're quite welcome." She responded, again with a touch of modesty... Her thoughts then returned to the matter at hand: her visit. She actually hoped to see more of the Pridelands, to spend the day with Kami, and if Mufasa wasn't busy, maybe spending more time getting to know him. He seemed to greatly enjoy seeing his daughter so happy, and Kiva wasn't the type to push others away even in the name of privacy or bonding. He was more than just a little welcomed to spend time with them so long as he and Kami both were comfortable with it.

"I did hope to stay for a while, if I'm not interrupting anything today...? Though if I do, perhaps I should make myself look a little less conspicuous. My priests will be a bit preoccupied with all of the preperations back home, oh, Kami, there are so many new members pouring in recently! I think someone from your pride here actually came to visit us recently. The mate of one of Tanashita's daughters, Moyo, and Kiwi." She smiled brightly, fondly. "It was quite a reunion."

"Ohhh, I don't have anything else I need to do today." -A cheerful chirp brought on as things seemed to sooth themselves more comfortably then they had with Bijan. Auburn tail flicking back and forth, she gave a silent but joyful nod to Kiva's good new.-

"How wonderful! The Pridelands never seem to run short of members, but each joining is something to be celebrated anyway. If your Pride very big?"

-Laughing a little he waved her worries aside with a large golden paw, chuckling a little.- "Ohhh it might not strike others as much as it did me. You find in your old age you expect things to remain the same. Young ones are always so much more open to wonder and seeing new things."

-Nodding softly he watched the two converse with a proud smile. He didn't necessarily know if they wanted his company. But if they didn't he'd find out soon enough. For now he was content in simply letting his mind slip into thought. Goddess of Unity. What a perfectly wonderful goddess to meet if there had to be gods. For unity within his family and pride was something the old lion always dreamed of.-

She laughed softly at Mufasa's words, but only at the irony of them. He was right, after all. In her past lives she'd always grown protective over her children and their way of life. Though she knew better than most that things were often unknown until discovered, she knew all too well, also, that older age and wisdom unintentionally led to becoming more closeminded to the vast possibilities of change.

"That's true, I suppose, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Being sure of yourself and your beliefs, that's how you should live life. You're still open minded to things that throw surprises in your path, and I'm glad that, at least I haven't been a negative revelation." She admitted with a smile, letting him know that she was simply being optimistic, rather than being upset over this turn of events. She was genuinely relieved that she'd been the first he'd met... instead of one of the others. The god of war, the god of nightmares, the goddess of sin, there were so many that could had, in the past, forever scarred the lives of mortals and blackened or frozen their hearts to the concept of gods and goddesses.

And to Kami--

"It's always fluctuated some, there are some things we can't control, of course, that have made the numbers small at one point..." She said with an easy smile, a bit of child like pride. "but things are very well right now. They've done very well while my memories were recovering. Let's see..... Three, six... twenty two members now, including all of the cubs. And from what I can tell," She giggled a bit. "The queen has finally taken a mate, so I'm sure there will be more. Though, they'll be kingless until the children grow and she steps down. And yes, from what I've remembered the Pridelands have always been the lands that stood the strongest. There's much peace and unity to be found here."

Kiva seemed to give off even prouder vibes at that, her admiration very clear.

"I only wish that so much time hadn't passed already. I've lost track of the family line. I'm sure that you've changed leaders at least twice since the last time I was your age, Kami." Her smile finally softened out as she turned her gaze to look out from their view of Pride Rock, once again taking in the sight of everything in the healthy, and happy lands. Her ignorance was scincere, as well, for "goddess" or not, she was far from all knowing. "Whoever is in charge now has done an absolutely wonderful job keeping things running so smoothly..."

That answered, she straightened once again and directed her attention towards both, directing the silent question towards Kami as she extended the invitation.

"Mufasa, would you like to join us on our walk for a bit?"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 02, 2006 11:40 am

-She listened with softly interest as the goddess spoke, both on the points of her father, and more intently so on the points of her pride. Even without being royalty.. she seemed so attached and in the know about her pride. And that was an admireable thing. Something Kami as heiress should be.. and yet.. as of yet was not.

At the soft words of praise, Kami sighed a little softly, a sound more of whistful thoughts then anything.- "I only hope that I'll be able to hold the pride strong when it's my time to carry it."

-Mufasa had caught the fact of Kiva's ignorance despite Kami's apparent unnotice, and it twitched another amused smile upon him. How was it that.. as much as he try and pretend not to be the king.. people always found him out. And yet his daughter had hidden the fact of her role from both of her dearest friends?

Murring a little gently he replied to both of them at once.- "I've come to believe that kingless might not be so bad. In fact... Kamilika. The lose of both Simba and Njozi.. I think perhaps is a sign from above. The Pridelands have passed through male paws for so long it is in need of a softer feminine touch. Compassion, care."

-Proud purr rumbling through his golden form, he added lightly.- "I have no worries or regrets about the throne passing to you when the time comes."

-Letting his eyes flicked back to the goddess, he nodded gently to her question from before.- "I have nothing to keep me from joining you two. And I know the land a little better, if it's a tour you're seeking."

Oh.... OH! Oh, yeah, things made a lot more sense now, her reasons for letting the father raise the cubs instead of having a paw in it. She was to be named queen? And here, Kiva had just inadvertantly put more pressure on her friend, apparently.

"You're to be the next queen? Kami, that's wonderful news! I know too that you'll do an excellent job." She smiled encouragingly.

And if there's ever anything that I can do to help, I'll be here, friend. She communicated to the other just as warmly.

"A tour would be wonderful," She purred in return, with no further attention called to the matter of them being royalty. To her, even royalty was equal to it's member-count. They were the appointed rulers of the land, but rulers should be choosen for compassion and understanding, both of which the two before her very clearly had running strong in their blood ties. She also knew from Kami's own words that, she'd probably prefer to be treated no differently, that would be no problem. To Kiva Kami was a friend first, a mother, in close second, and an heiress third. She wouldn't do anything to intentionally make her friend uncomfortable.
