" You're lucky you didn't wake the dead up with all that" Dare teased Brianna light heartedly. He was carrying her despite her protestations, to the park. Since she was full of energy all the time now and since Trinket had wanted to sleep in for once he figured a bit if play in a nearby park couldn't hurt. Well it couldn't hurt as long as they gt to the park with no problems and as long as they went over the rules at least twice before he put her down.
It was a warm sunny day one of the last ones they'd likely see this season before a mucky rainy fall set in followed by a chillingly cold winter. That was another reason he wanted to take her out today, soon the weather wouldn't be suitable for Brianna to play outdoors and he wanted her to enjoy herself out here before it wasn't doable anymore.

Reese + stairs = really bad. Even after Riordan had purchased the baby gate, the boy's main focus was on trying to fall down the stairs. Though the man had no idea why, he'd decided to take Reese to the park to try and get the boy to do something else.
Though now he was absolutely convinced that Reese was going to get hit by a car. He'd been holding the boy's hand as they walked to the nearby park when the boy would keep letting go and run on out into the street. After the third time, Riordan picked the boy up and carried him.
So, the pair entered the park, Reese over Riordan's shoulder and whining because he wanted down. Riordan took the boy to the sand box and sat him down. "There, Reese. You can play here. But don't go far."
The man watched the boy start messing with the sand before sitting on the closest bench to keep an eye on Reese.

Brianna who'd nodded and half listened to the safety lectures was gratefull to be free. Once her feet had hit the ground she was off like a shot. With the swings full and a line for the slide she went to the only other place left that looked fun , the sandbox.
Approaching an interesting looking boy playing there she smiled " Hi I'm Brianna , who are you and what are you making?" She asked.
Dare collapsed onto a bench and sighed deciding tommorow he slept in and Trinket got to take thier child out.

Reese almost jumped clear out of his clothes as a voice spoke up nearby. He'd been busy playing with the sand. He blinked at the girl for a good minute before seeming to register that she'd asked a question. Huh?? The pile of sand before him collapsed as his supporting hands fell to his side as he stared up at the girl.

Brianna looked at the ruined sand blob of wonderign what it was supposed to have been, then frowned " Dig, deeper , cold sand is harder." She stated firmly, she had learned on her last trip here that soft top sand didn't hold togeather without the cold dark sand making it sticky."What's your name?" She asked again?

Name, name... Oh! Yeah, that thing Da' always got him to keep repeating. "Re'" He stated, pointing to himself. Which was about all that Riordan had managed to teach the boy to remember of his own name. If Reese heard his father say his name, then he could repeat the name in its entirity, but having to remember it on his own... well, 'Re'' was all that he usually managed.
The boy then turned his attention back to the sand blob before him, heaping it all back up into a pile.

"Re? that's pretty" Brianna said. On occasion her own father called her Bri and that sounded pretty as well. She watched Re try and remake his sand building. He was obviously stubborn since he hadn't given up.
Smiling Brianna scooted over a little and began to dig up some dark cold sand that would make her sand castle stay togeather.

Reese didn't even bother looking up from his 'castle' at Brianna's comment. He grunted as his blob continued to shift and try to collapse on him. Playing in sand was no fun. Maybe he should try something else? The boy looked up and around at the park. Suddenly, the sand blob shifted, spilling over his feet and Reese looked back down.
Hey! Maybe he should build a sand castle!

"Re when you're done building a castle , you wanna play on the seesaw?" Brianna asked, The seesaw needed two people to work and her father said he was too old to play on one.

"See..... s-saw?" The word was labored as Reese looked up at the girl, a confused look on his face. What was a seesaw?

Brianna grinned and pointed to where a pair of children were going up and down in turns on a big metal plank. When one went up the other went down." Seesaw it looks fun yes?"

Reese followed the direction Brianna was pointing in and spotted the named equipment. "F....un." The boy struggled out, adding in "Yeh-us." One wouldn't be able to tell if he was actually agreeing with the bird girl or just repeating the last few words she'd said.

Brianna smiled pleased to have gotten a reaction even if it was only verbal. Flicking her eyes between the boy and the peice of playground equipment she waited for something more.

Reese was confused at the girl's pause. Didn't she want to go play on it? Blinking, the boy pointed at the equipment. "We..... gah...o?"
