Unfotunately, today his fur colour made him stand out a little too much. He was in a spot of bother. Having grown quite a bit the coal eyed male could no longer fit in to the hole wheer he had hidden his 'treasure'! It was buried inside this abandoned jackals hole and he had no way to get it out. He'd never done any digging before, so as most boys would do, he'd tried to get in despite his size and gotten his butt stuck. Now his white tipped tail wriggled in the air maddly as his muffled calls sounded up in to the burrow he was stuck in. "Arg I be stuck!" he called "somone be 'elpin this ere sea dog!" of course his voice was so muffled by the soil all around him he wondered if anyone would ever hear him He didn't want to be stuck here forever!
The problem was if somone he knew found him he would be so embarressed! He was stuck in a hole! Ug, he'd never live this down but he had to get out!!! "HELP!!!!"

Ave padded slowly around the edge of the watering hole, her tiny red cub following closely behind, stopping every few seconds to sniff at something, or teetering dangerously, before her mother nudged her gently to help her stay up. Perking her ears, the white lioness looked around, thinking she'd heard a small voice from somewhere nearby. She swished her tail and sat her cub down, having spotted a little black and white tail thrasing around, it's owners bottom quite obviously stuck in a little hole, possibly an old den. "Are you err.....alright there little guy?" She inquired, turning around to glance at her cub, who had gotten up and lain down by the water, watching her mother with calm eyes.

Oh thank the gods! Nahodha'Kota could cope with humiliation if he didn't know the person. the voice wasn't familiar so okay "Aye lassy can ye be pullin' me out? i be right stuck and my ead is startin' to urt!" He called breaking in to his pirate accent. His tail wacked around manically as he waited hoping whom ever the female was could break him out of this old jackals den. Never mind the treasure he just wanted out!

Ave looked at him for a moment longer before grabbing his tail gently in her mouth and giving a tug. Stumbling backwards a little, the white lioness almost fell over as the cub came out, rather easily..."Well, there we go dear." SHe said kindly, licking the top of the black and white cub's head and then spinning around to check on her own baby again.
At the water's edge, the tiny red female continued to stare calmly at her mother, growing slightly jealous as the other cub was licked gently. That should be MY attention... The little female thought, scoffing at them both and then getting up, padding slowly over to her mother and brushing against her front leg. The little red cub sat at her mother's feet and stared at the older male, quirking a brow as if challenging him.

'Kota came out of the hole with a little pop landing on his butt with a grin "aye mah thanks to ya lassy!" he grins his charcoal coloured eyes looking up at the pale female as she licked his head.
For a moment the dark cub checked he was all in one peice, making sure that no bones were broken from his fall before checking his 'mane' was straight before he turned back to the oddly marked femme "names nahodha'Kota maa'am but most folk's roun' hyar jus' be callin' me 'kota" His gaze turns to the deep red daughter then and he grins. "ahoy thar lassy! I be much appreciatin' ya mams help i was a thinkin' I would be stuck down thar for ever, not a good thing yanno?"
Looking between mother and daughter his ebony eyes smiled brightly. "you girls be new roun' hyar huh? I be stalkin this place bout every day and I baint never feen you roun' before, where be ye hailin' from shipmates?"

Avellano couldn't help but giggle at the little cub. Reclining to her haunches, she pulled her little female closer and licked her on top of her head, using a paw to gently pet her ears and then laying her down gently, licking the stripe along her back and then looking back up at Kota. "It's a pleasure little one." She said, grinning at him and then swishing her tail before curling it around herself and her daughter. "I'm Avellano, or Ave, if you prefer, and this is my daughter, Jurawa." She said, nudging the little female gently.
Jurawa growled a little at the friendly male, cuddling against her mother's leg and staring dolefully at the other. She swished her little black tail and then settled the fluffy end of it across her front paws, as her mother was doing, and lifted a one of her tiny, dark tipped paws and licked it casually, ignoring the male and hoping her mother would smarten up and do the same.

"Little? Lassy ye be lookin' at the most feard pirate of the water hole!" He puffed his tiny chest out sitting tall the white diamond upon his chest flashing in the sun. He grinned, trying to look tall and burly at the same time was quite difficult for the young cub and he soon let his breath out "ye see I even has a big fluff, or I will one day!" he grins tilting his head and pointing at the slightly thicker fur on top of his head where one day his mane would sprout though at the moment, it was none exsistant.
After a nmoment of this he clearly decdes to change course, swinging his bow around the other way "ti's a pleasure to meetcha miss Avellano" he grins tipping his head a bit before fixing those dark sparkling onyx orbs upon the deep red female. "An you lassy aint ye be gotten a tongue? My ol' mam always says speak up so ye can be 'eard" he grins playfully, he was clearly joking with the younger female, maybe she would like to play? Or maybe she'd be able to go down the hole and fetch his treasures? Wrinkling his brow he grinned broadly "ye wanna see my treasure? it be down that thar hole I was stuck in. You can go an ave a look if you likes, but you can't tell noone where it is cause it's a pirates cove" he grinned looking proud of himself.

The white lioness suddenly felt as though it would be right to let the cubs play together, from somewhere....somewhere inside her, she knew she was learning how to be a mother. Beaming for a moment, proud of herself, the young lioness went off and laid down a few yards away, leaving her daughter to play with the other cub. "Be nice Jurawa." She said gently, resting her chin on her paws and laying her ears back, tail restingagainst her side, the dirt red tip flicking up and down every little while.
The little red cub continued staring at the black male, her dark tail flicking about as she stood, considering going over to her mother and laying down. Her little ears perked again as she reconsidered, turning back to him, her eyes wide, shimmering with excitement. "Treasure?" She inquired in a small, soft voice. "I'd love to." She said, waggling her eyebrows for a second before leaping forwards and slipping into the hole rather easily, crawling towards the end of the tunnel, able to just barely see a small hoarde of rocks and shells. She growled a little. "This ISN'T treasure.....Where's the shinies?" She demanded, backing out of the hole and then sitting in front of it, staring at him again.

Nahodha'Kota grinned as he watched the little female diaapear in to the hole though at her incredulous shouts he tilted his head. "Thar be plenty of shinies an' stuff, treasures fit for a pirates lootin'!" He stated nodding victoriously, he had horded a fair few water worn rocks, smooth and shiney from the bottom of the watering hole along with a fair few brightly coloured feathers as well asan ostrich feather and the coup'de grace, a perfectly preserved rabbits skull. It was everything a pirates trove was meant to be. What could she possibly mean?
"Yar lassy ye must be too young ta be unnerstandin' what a pirates trove be! That be a mighty fine horde!"

"All you've got in there is rocks and feathers and silly stuff like that. Haven't you any jewels or gold?" She inquired, confused as to why he was calling it a pirate hoarde, when there were no REAL shinies. She swished her tail again and gave a small snort, laying her tiny ears back and quirking a brow at him before jumping deliactely from her spot and padding off towards the water, not worrying about her mother in the least bit. "You could at least offer to play with me." She said, having not even given him a moment to speak. She grinned a little, staring at her reflection on the surface. I'm so beautiful. She thought to herself, then pawed at the water creating ripples around her tiny paw. She grinned again before spinning around and looking at Kota again. "Well?" She said rudely, narrowing her eyes at him again and flicking her tail.

'Kota raised abrow "Gold?" he blinked some, he had breifly heard of the substance called gold but the seagfull had described it as a shiney rock, well, he had lots of those. this girl didn't know what she was talking aboiut clearly! He was about to speak again when she flounced off towards the water. Oh he'd play!
With a laugh the dark youngster pelted towards the water not stopping until he'd splashed in to the murky deapths, soaking not only himself but Jurawa and even managing to send a few dropletts towards the pale mother watching over them. "Sure I'd love to play" he grinned broadly flickering his head so that spatters of water flew all around him creating a mini rainbow for a second.

Jurawa squealed as he splashed her with the muddy water, and then turned to him, eyes practically on fire with anger. "You stupid boy!" She screamed, bursting into tears and racing over to her mother, tail between her legs and ears lain back. "MOTHER!" She yelled, sitting before her mother and wailing. "He got that disgusting elephant water on me!" She managed to get out in the midst of her crying, tears soaking her red muzzle and making little wet pocks in the dirt.

'Kota tilted his head curiously. he blinked a few times splooshing out of the water and shaking off before padding slowly back towards the pale mother and small cub "I thought you liked the water" He looked extreely confused, why look at the water so longingly if you didn't like it? After a moment he sighed "I'm sorry lassy I be thinkin' you was a pirate seens you knows about treasures!" He smiles looking at the older female more appologetically than at thelittle red cub. he hadn't meant to frighten her, it was just a bit of water after all.
