As some of you may know, I'm new to Warhammer, so I have no idea what a conversion is. Could someone clear this up?

Dave the Twisted As some of you may know, I'm new to Warhammer, so I have no idea what a conversion is. Could someone clear this up? when you take a model and personalize it, its for people that are a bit more advanced at modeling, no offence meant

If you give someone a gun, or something like that, that they normally wouldn't have and you have to kind of change the model. That's a convertion.
Man for some reason that's kind of hard to explain.

conversion- the changing of a model from there original appearance using parts from anoter model, or green stuff( a GW moelling putty.), or both.
Some examples of green stuff use would be my plague marine army pics in the painting and modeling sub-forum, they're allready painted so it may be difficult to pick out what was modeled.

a conversion would be, as most said, the changing and adding of new parts to a model. this doesn't include paint jobs, though painting usually helps to make it more different.

Simply put, a conversion is where you take a bunch of parts that don't always go together and make them look like they do, to achieve a unique look. Here is an unfinished pic of my model of The Emperor, I used ; The $15 commander kit, abbadon the despoiler, a grey knight, a piece of sprue and some green stuff. And this is what he looks like when finished. Conversion are fun to make and are like small challenges. You should give it a shot some time Dave!
