yes, it is common for some guys to start early or late. Do not feel ashamed, and there's not much you can do to speed up the process. (I guess you can take growth hormones, but that's kind of a waste because I don't think you have a height problem.) Your body will take care of itself, don't worry.

I know good guy friends who didn't hit puberty until 17. There are all sorts of variations in puberty so not everyone gets the same symptoms and after effects. Just relax and let it run its course. I promise you are not weird or nething.

My brothers didn't hit puberty till 14 or 15. Every guy/girl is different. Don't worry.

Everyone is different when it comes to puberty. Sorry, I know that's not the answer you want to hear, but it's the truth. Some people just aren't hairy and some don't hit puberty until later than the average (which is why it's called an average and not the rule).

As many people have said puberty is specific to every person. That's a pretty common theme here.
As for the hair. One thing I noticed is that things sorta happened in chunks. Like I'd grow a bunch of leg hair. And not doing anything for a while (3 or 4 months) then some other puberty stuff would happen. Etc. etc. Basically for me it would spurt and then cool off.
I didn't get chest hair 'til I was 17, but had leg hair at 13.
As for under the arm, mine is strangely lacking compared to the rest of my body, it just works out that way. Unless you're in a hostage situation you'll be fine.

If you don't get hair, which is normal, then feel blessed, it's the coolest thing, plus most girls will appreciate it.
