The Video Game Forum is full of 'em. You may see a misplaced FInal Fantasy topic or misplaced Fighting game topics.

There was a Guilty Gear thread this morning that was misplaced and I Pmed a purple mod. The purple mod left and the thread sat there and festered.

Even worse...

When you tell someone on their misplaced thread that it belongs in the subforum, the thread starter or other users get hostile and say.. "It's a video game! It belongs here!" or "I didn't see the Subforum."

Even worse... The FIghting Games Subforums have misplaced Kingdom Hearts, Halo and Destiny Warriors threads that pop up there. Kingdom HEarts in the Fighting Game Subforum!?

o.O I have just seen a new low on misplaced threads. A shop in the Table top gaming forum. Link for anyone who cares.
o.o To make things worse PMs haven't been working for me since the 28th so I cant get a mod to move it.

Speaking of PMs being down did anyone from here send me a PM on the 28th? I remember seeing the name of someone from here as the sender on a PM but when I clicked it it wasnt there, and for some reason it's gone. o.o

I personaly don't think that all misplaced threads are all that bad. Sometimes there prety bad and such ... If there is like 14 KH threads on the main page then i dont understand why someone would make a new one. But unless the offical page is on the main page and stuff. I don't know why people flame others ... They came to the Video Game fourm to ask about the game and no one answers them ... they just flame them or yell at them telling them to get to the official fourm. They DON'T KNOW! Okay there newbies most likely, but they get flamed anyway. I saw earlier a girl who was in her peasents clothes posted a topic on Kingdom Hearts ... she had good grammer and she was all smart and stuff ... the first reply was something like "OMFG! ITS ANOTHER N00B! IF I SEE ANOTHER TOPIC ABOUIT KINGDUM HURTZ IM GONNA KILL SUMOEN!!!111" and I'll bet that girl got sad or angry about that and now has a bad feeling about gaia. Heck I know that hardly anybody checks the back posts. I know that I don't ... but I hardly post new topics so thats beside the point ^_^ People should be kinder ... I can understand if theres something like K.H. in the F.G.S. thats just unreasonable. But when you can tell they're a newbie, people shouldn't be so mean to them. If I was a newbie I'd be afrade to come back after someone flamed me so harshly.

Has anyone else noticed that now that we have the Tabletop subforum, people are posting those topics in the main forum? In all my time in the VGD, I've seen maybe three topics for D&D and another tabletop game. Since we've gotten the subforum, I've seen about five.

It's like people come in to the VGD, see the subforum, and think "Oh, wow, I'd really like to talk about that! Maybe I should post it out in the main forum instead of in the subforum made JUST FOR this topic! AWESOME!"

sad

What is wrong with people? Is it really that hard to stop for a second and think before you click that 'New Topic' button?

I totally agree, Trajedy. Some of those are probably people who just enjoy being a pain in the a**, while others are probably people who haven't bothered to read explanations of things, saw "tabletop gaming", and thought "Hey, I should make a topic about this!" *click* The former should not be allowed to stick around for too long, and the latter should either pay attention to the rules and the fact that the subforums are links to subforums, not just ideas on what to post, or be screened out by a basic intelligence test. 3nodding

I just reported a misplaced thread to Beramode, and she got very rude and irate. Very disappointing. Some mods just don't like doing their job.

Calling me lazy and not even bothering to tell me where the topic was is an appropriate way to treat someone you'd like to help you? neutral

Eeep! Yes!

Hokay, that was interesting.

Zuss, did you give a link to the thread in your PM?

I'm gonna have to throw up a "This is the way to do things" sticky.

"There's a video games thread on the first page Table Top Gaming discussion. It's a poll about the Xbox game 'Fable'. If you could take care of that, it'd be great. Thanks!

-Mr. Zuss"

Such was the PM I sent. Oviously more than enough information for Beramode to do her job.

Enough to do the job in one area. The link would open up a new window so she (or any other mod) would not have to completely drop what they were doing before hand. Also sometimes one mod will have taken care of it while you were PMing another and without the link they would wonder what on earth you were talking about since nothing is there. 3nodding

Zuss, you're supposed to give them a link. That's just common courtesy. By the time they get to your PM, that thread might not be where you said it was.

-Always- provide a link. It even says that in the FAQ under the question that asks what to do when you need to contact a mod.

Don't imply that the mods are lazy, when you yourself are too lazy to copy and paste.
