So last week during lessons we were talking about marching band--because my teacher was going to sectionals up at the high school's band camp I'm going to next year. He said, "Are you joining marching band? I can't imagine you doing that"
WHY?? I DON'T GET IT!!! O_o so I'm small, it doesn't mean i'm going to pass out on the field, so I play alot of classical music...but what does that have to do with not looking like...marching band material?? O_o ><;
atfirst I didn't want to join but it started to sound oh so much fun! It has so many experiences and everything...but I don't look like someone who'd join it?? Give me a violin why don't you scream
seriously...what makes me not marching band material?
has your teacher ever said he couldn't imagine oyu playing that one song, doing that one concert, or just say you're not ready, you don't have the material for it?
well..i have another story but eh i'd kill this post with it and no one would want to read it....

It's most likely because you're small. Are you active in...active things? That might be another thing as well. In my experience though, clarinetists generally cannot march. There are maybe three out of our nine that can march correctly. It's sad, but true. When you do march though, make sure your arms take up space and don't bend them down at the attention position. I swear I've told the clarinets fifty times not to do that. -_-"

Our's is a 45 degree angle, but I don't know how other schools are with that. Our clarinets always get their angles wrong. xp

Yeah we're 45 too. But some of the boys hold it in as if it were thier life-line or something. -_- Anywho, another thing that annoys me, this year our pops, instead of an easy horizontal, is like, ten degrees below that. I hate it. Stupid new teacher.

Ahhhh Miyoko could be a marcher! >______> I'm almost as small as you! It doesn't matter!! At first it was just difficult to keep in step with everyone but now it's really not that hard. You just have to get used to it. Plus, the music's no problem. It's just not... classical.
