Pack + Family + Friends + Foe

-------------- Friends. --------------

Ikkume -

Talia met this wolf while hunting, their encounter was... more than just a little close, and after literally running into each other it's not a meeting that either are likely to forget. ^_^

This earthy-toned male is in Talia's good favor, he has a very friendly, easy going, and playful personality, and she's drawn by that. Currently Ikkume is treating her to a meal of fish by a stream a bit west.

Ronan -

Ronan, son of Notoka and Silva, and the first wolf that Talia ran into upon arriving from the North-east. Talia does not really make fuss over the fact that he's the offspring of alphas, though admittedly he does have so much of a confident and relaxed attitude that she couldn't help but make that assumption. He reminds her much of her own siblings back home. The two of them met during a nasty storm during the black of night.

She's been back to see him a few times, despite her travels further South. She greatly enjoys this handsome male's company, it's comforting. ^_^

Currently the two

Whisper -

Vitus -

Diego -

Escape.in.the.Freelands.

Life in a pack had it's benefits. Life on one's own had it's cons. It was so akward being out on her own, it didn't really feel right, but even so Talia wouldn't go back home. The elders in her pack were so stuffy and demanding.

'The progeny of the alphas must act with more constraint! You have to set an example!'

A lighthearted laugh echoed through the trees, an adolescent wolf frolicking, yes, frolicking through the woods in leaps and bounds. She was currently terrorizing a little rabbit, though heavens knew she had no intentions of eating it. She just had a great bit of amusement in mimicking the long-ear.

She had wandered out and found herself in the freelands now, the North-Eastern area being where she originated from, and though her behavior was playful there was still a definite care in each of her leaps. As the rabbit made it's final escape into it's burrow Talia came landing to the ground from her pounce, panting softly. The forest was quiet so she could easily hear her own breathing, and with heavier inhales she noticed the crisp smells of summer's eve. Spring was a great season, but Talia was horridly curious to experience "the summer", and "the autumn". The latter season was just around the bend, it coursed through her sense of smell, and still on a bit of a high from her game of chase she lifted her head back and howled a slightly high pitched trill of exuberation. It was incredible just to be alive!

((XD THAT was craptacular. *kicks it* Tags Dagda, or someone else that would like to join that's in the Eastern area of the freelands.))

--------------------

User Image

Dagda, on the other hand was more jaded towards the seasons these days, Summer held little promise for him other than perhaps a little more improved hunting. But for all he knew that season would be over too soon and the harsh winter would creep upon him again. Still, he never let such bleak thoughts stop him, and he continued to walk on and on, a limp still evident in his movements from the fall of yesterday.

He didn't doubt that he had pulled one muscle or another, but at least he hadn't broken anything.

As he walked along the paths of the forest he listened to every sound, every birdsong and every movement of the small creatures about him. Just the other day he had chased them like a mad thing, he didn't grudge them the wide berth he was receiving.

His ears perked as he caught the howl not so far off, and he headed towards the sound, breaking into an uncomfortable lope towards where Talia stood.

((*copies your technique of putting the image at the top* It was not a crap post, I liked it muchly.))

--------------------

The last of the young female's notes dissipated slowly with her allowing her voice to soften and then fade out. Her ears returned to a level position as she lowered her head again, regaurding Dagda with soothing blue eyes, a grayish shade, slate. "Hello, and who might you be?"

She sounded calm, wary even. Her stance remained casual from where she was now sitting on the ground, but it could be compared to a dragon in waiting. Should the need arise she could, and would run in favor of her safety. She would also stand her ground so long as she stood a chance, but since she didn't know who this wolf was or if he had friends she waited for now to see if he was friend or foe.

((Hee! ^^ *transferring RP as we go* Well then it served it's purpose! :3 *bow*))

--------------------

Dagda observed the other wolf with his cool sulphur gaze, as always immediately critical of the other's perceived fighting prowess. After all, he wasn't in prime condition, still somewhat wet from his dip in the lake, sleek blue-grey pelt seeming to fade to black where it was most damp.

After a time he spoke, his voice a cool, collected tenor.
"I'm Dagda, a loner of these parts, known to most as simply Dag."

He walked forward a step or two, still limping noticably, but even in this state he was not afraid of the other, his jaws still worked just fine and he could fight if he needed to. He held his head and tail high.

Coming to a halt, he lowered himself to his haunches and spoke, still showing very little emotion other than indifference, as was his way.

"And what, might I ask is your name?"

--------------------

Talia's first impression of this wolf was an amusing one. ~He would probably get along well with Trija.~

She raised her own head a little from where she sat, noticing his slight limp, but not dismissing the possible threat he posed yet. "You may," She answered, "it's Talia. I'm from the North-Eastern lands."

Her own voice flowed more soft-spokenly, and with a trace of high-alto or low soprano.

Ikku trotted alonside a small stream, his gaze pinned just infront of him. The dusty male didn't bother to look ahead, he had no real destination at the moment, so he only concentrated on not tripping. The stream trickled along, slightly bloated. Ikku could feel the heaviness of oncoming rain in the air, making his fur feel sticky and uncomfortable. He didn't concern himself, however, his mind dwelling on the past. Truthfully, Ikku despised dwelling on the past, but he found it much more difficult to dislodge himself from his memories than he had ever imagined. And so the images played over and over inside his mind, stuck on repeat, distracting Ikku from reality and the present.

When. 05.20.05.
Where. Notoka + Silvamord's land: Freelands [AIM]
With. Ronan [lilwerewolfgirl] + Talia [Tahja Estes]

This rain reminded her so much of her sister back home, the two would often spend hours playing about the edge of the lake where they dwelled with their pack, chasing raindrops. Now they were miles apart, had her sibling managed to get away, or would they be seperated for much longer than a matter of two weeks? Talia was traveling South-west from her North-Eastern home for said amount of time, and had come across two of her own so far, but was otherwise alone... and starting to really feel it. She missed some of her packmates, and longed to have someone's company again.

She sat in the center of a small clearing, eyes shut and muzzle lifted towards the sky allowing the rain to soak her pelt. Just five minutes ago she had been howling again, calling to her sister, calling to anyone who would listen.

--------------------

User Image

'A howl?' Thought the green pelted male as he laid underneath a tree trying to get out of the rain. Having his fathers genes in him a streak of curiosity rose in his brow. Usually he would ignore the howls into the night, being as their where always new wolves around... but this one was different. This one sounded full of sorrow, as if they where trying to reach someone dear to them. This howl defiantly had a luring effect of Ronan.

Pushing his for-limbs against the soft earth he raise quickly to his feet watching as a few earthworms where taking cover under the tree to escape the rain for their lives.

Walking out from the tree's hovering safety he perked his ears up into the rainy sky, he could feel his coat growing more and more wet with each passing second... causing his already dark pelt, to become black like the night as well as heavy. He wasn't too sure what direction the howl came from... he was daydreaming sort of when he heard it. Sniffing into the air he tried to find traces of others, nothing. The water was drowning out all scents.

--------------------

She wasn't able to help herself, even if no one was about to return her call she did have the rain, whose steady drops were like plucks upon her soul. The plopping sound they made as they connected with the patted down grass and dense leaves was answer enough. Her ears pinned against her head as her notes once again softly graced the night, ringing clearly even over the sounds of the small storm. Were it not for her markings she surely would have been invisible in the black depths of the darkness. The moonlight was hidden well behind the clouds that masked the sky this evening.

--------------------

'No more howling... maybe if I responded," He thought to himself once again. He sat down onto his haunches and lifted his gaze up towards the night's sky. Tonight it didn't even look like the normal nights here... it was pitch black, dark, and dreary... it was just one of those nights you want to curl up into a corner and sleep.

He wanted to know... he really did, it was eating him alive, who was the one howling? Who? And, why was it so depressing... maybe it was none of his business and he should just go away, no... he needed to know. Being so thick headed. He awoke from the small thinking spell as a water droplet pounded against his eye, causing him to squint. He knew what he needed to do to find this other... Starting out in the base of his throat and finally rising up his wind pipe and to his mouth, a howl emerged from his vocal cords. He didn't want it to be a loud howl, he wanted to test to see if the other was near... so he let it carry on for a good 20 seconds before it ended, hoping for a clue as to where the original came from.

--------------------

She hadn't really expected a reply, but her reaction was alert all the same. Instantly her head lowered to a normal position and her ears rocketed to attention atop her head. She had recieved an answer! It took her four seconds to realize it was no one that she knew, however, and her spirits fell slightly, just slightly.

It sounded to be male, from the pitch of it, maybe her age? In all reality following that howl could be dangerous, as it could be leading her into pack lands... she was still a bit naive to things, though, still trusting and generally not bothered by the idea so long as other wolves knew when to back off.

Her slate blue eyes (my original font color, a little darker) scanned the area, but of course her eyes were much weaker than her nose in this inky darkness. The forest was unfamiliar, and a little bit unnerving when she thought about it.

She pushed up on her hind legs and moved her front legs forward at the same moment, starting forward towards the howl at a cautious gait. She was far from a coward, but also far from blindly reckless.

===

A third call broke the night air, answering Ronan's, closer this time as she was on the move. She sounded a bit uncertain, but not afraid. She was heading towards him from the East.

--------------------

After he sent out the low pitched howl he found himself lowering his head. His senses where going wild trying to pinpoint the other, his ears stood strait up like nails in wood as well as his nose was flared. His eyes where peering into the darkness though tonight, it was almost impossible to see. He had given up hope of response, when finally he heard it.

His ears flickered back and forth at a rapid pace as he heard the howl; it was close... yet still not that close. Was it the same wolf as before? He could only hope it was sometimes more than one respond at different times. Turning his gaze towards the right of his body Ronan started towards the howl, when it finally ended he decided to keep going in that direction, if he didn't see another for a while... well he would sound off another howl.

The rain seemed to grow heavier as the night grew longer, no one would even know if it was dawn... the clouds where too thick. The water droplets now pounded against his already soaked pelt, the only thing that would have been visible for the untrained eye would have been his own eyes... which glimmered a emerald green.

The adolescent wolf pushed his way through one particularly large bush... which was making quite some noise if anyone was near.

--------------------

Talia had opted to continue walking, only pausing for that moment to howl just a bit before. Now she was stumbling about over treeroots as her pace came a bit quicker. It was as if by realizing she wasn't the only one out in this miserable weather she noticed that she was actually near terrified at being so utterly alone. She heard the bushes rustle just as she was getting closer, the sound coming from somewhere on her right. She didn't see the treeroot upjutting from the ground at an angle, and she yelped loudly as she took a spill, landing on the ground with surprise. Great, now soaked, cold, AND muddy.

Her eyes traveled up ahead of her all the same, looking for the source of the noise, her silver and white markings stood out like ghostly mist amongst the dark of the forest, her pale slate eyes gazing ahead. "Is someone there...?"

--------------------

Finally! He thought as he came out from the bushes, a mumbling sound emerged from his mouth, which sounded oddly like 'finally you lil mother-' but his lil spasm was cut short when he heard the sudden splash of water, and or mud on his side. Hid immediate reaction was to bristle up and go on the defense, but as he looked towards the direction of the sound he calmed down.

Even though the darkness seemed to cover everything, he found that there was something illuminating in the nights gaze. It was the outline of a wolf... was this the wolf that had called out the howl of sorrow? After hearing the question it confirmed it was a wolf, not only this... this also confirmed the wolf was a female probably around his age.

"Are you the one whom called out into the night's darkness?" Said Ronan.

--------------------

She pushed onto her front paws, rising from the muddied ground with her tail hanging, not held as high as it usually was as her spirits didn't feel very top-notch right now. She gazed up at Ronan from where her head also hung, parallel with the rest of her body with her ears held to her skull until he prooved to be at least somewhat friendly. Just to be safe, as this wolf seemed confident enough, maybe this was pack-territory? It'd be impossible to tell with this rain. "That was me,"

She spoke in a soft tone, the more calm and submissive voice that she used when in the company of someone unfamiliar and more dominant than she.

--------------------

The male wolf couldn't help but roll his eyes at her response. With a flick of his tail he moved a few more paces towards her, wondering why she was so... submissive. It isn't like he wanted to hurt her... Stopping in his tracks he flopped his body down onto the mud ridden earth, he then flicked his ears forward in a friendly way.... if she could see his ears that is. "I'm not here to hurt you..." He tried to seem as friendly as he could, but it was a little hard not to raise your voice in this rain.

"Looking for someone? ... Family or something? Well if it helps, I haven't seen anyone around here with your markings before."

The rain still seemed to come down at a steady pace, and didn't look like it had intentions of letting up. "Why don't we get out of the rain?" He said turning around facing his back towards the female, not a very strategic maneuver on his part... that was if she had the intent to harm him. But he didn't think she did. He turned around for a second looking at her. "Theirs a large tree a little walk away from here, usually rain can't fall underneath it." The tree's over brush was so thick rain couldn't penetrate it.

--------------------

Talia, had she been in higher spirits, would not have sounded so submissive. As it was she was in no mood nor condition to find trouble this eve. It wasn't that she thought he'd hurt her, but she had been warned the consequences of invading other pack's land. She did relax a bit as his countenance gave off a friendly acceptance, even as his words seemed to confirm her pessimistic train of thought. She sighed softly and lowered her eyes with a small shake of her head. Of course he wouldn't have, Trija was still with the pack when she'd left, who knew if she'd even left home yet?

She consented to follow him, not bothered by the idea of staying dry, not at all. Her only verbal response was to say- "Alright," -before shaking out her fur a little in hopes of loosening the water that was bogging down her fairly short coat.

--------------------

He internally nodded as he heard the female's movement behind him as he led her towards the huge tree. These lands where welcome to all wolves near and far, and Ronan was raised to help all of those that where in need.

After a while and a few more mud splatters on his pelt, the tree was in sight. He picked up his pace to a small leap as his went underneath the tree's shadow. As he had suspected, it was dry underneath. Before the female could get their he rapidly shook his fur back and forth, trying to remove the water that has conjured on it. Licking his paw and rubbing it against his head to remove the sections that where sticking up, Ronan waited for the female to come under the tree.

--------------------

Shaking out her fur did make her coat lighter, but it only helped so much as it was quickly becoming soaked again. She opted to follow Ronan until they reached his shelter, following him under a few moments after he'd shaken dry. Talia put a polite bit of space between them and shook off, flinging water roughly from her own fur with a shiver. She wasn't very well built for this kind of cold, cold compared to the mugginess of her own home that is.

Once she'd shaken off she made her way back over, regarding him with what seemed a lot more confidence in her gaze, her tail and ears held level again. "Thank you for answering my call,"

--------------------

He squinted slightly as a single drop of water flung itself into his eye as she shook which he couldn't help but think 'Good aim.', but then he rubbed it away and went back to his normal stance before she looked back. He kept his head held high as she walked over with a noticeably more confident look on her face.

"No problem, why did your howl seem so sad?" Ronan said jumping into the conversation not going around it.

--------------------

Talia settled to sit not far from him, resting on her stomach with her head over her folded paws. Her ears stayed upright through the storm, picking up his words easily. She didn't mind answering some questions, and would let him know if the conversation should become too personal.

"I've been seperated from my sister, she's the only real family I have left, but it's been a while since we saw one another."

She simply curled her tail about her as she spoke, changing her mind and deciding to brush down the fur on her legs with her tongue, preening her fur back into place calmly. She didn't even know this male's name yet, but it wasn't exactly dire that she find out. It was just conversation right now, introductions would come when the time was right.

--------------------

"I see..." Was all the male said for a moment as he pondered about why they got separated... too personal of a question for someone he just met. So he had to settle for one simpler, for now. "How long have you been wandering around alone? You look only to be around my age... not a pup and not an elder adult."

His gaze didn't fall down towards her, instead he settled to watch out over the night. The rain still splattered against the already soaking earth, but he wasn't paying too much attention to that anymore. He was more worried over the fact that if someone was watching them... he couldn't help but have that odd feeling in his stomach, even if it was only a squirrel.

--------------------

She glanced up from her cleaning, looking at him for a moment while pondering. How long had it been?

"... Quite some time, a month I think."

She shifted her weight, not so easily bothered by the idea of eyes watching them. She was well accustomed to it, actually, disturbingly enough. She did notice the slight scent that his pensive feeling gave off, though, which made her want to snort-- in memory, not in annoyance.

Her eyes sought him out again in the darkness, able to find his general area at least. His eyes were the only thing giving away his location to her, thanks to their proximity. "These lands belong to your pack, or family?"

--------------------

Still gazing off into the night he could feel her eyes upon him, even if all she could see was his own. He listened intently as he heard how she had been alone for a month, and then when it came to her question.

The male looked away from the darkness, and turned his face towards hers. He could see her white markings sticking out into the inky darkness, as well as her own eyes where showing. "Yes these lands belong to my parents... though we don't usually claim them for our own. All wolves are welcome here; we are just a small pack and or family of wolves that live here."

--------------------

She nodded understandingly, she'd been in these lands for a few days now and it was hard not to notice the heavy flow of traffic, even this far north.

A few moments of silence spanned, if he had nothing else to ask. During that time her muzzle came to rest on her paws again, though she strained her eyes slightly to continue gazing up at Ronan. "My name is Talia."

--------------------

"Nice to meet you Talia, I'm Ronan." He said reponding as soon as she said something, he also had taken part in that moment of silence... he didnt want to ask anything else for fear or prying 'too' deep into her past.

"where do you plan to go from here? Just, wander around?" He finally grew comfortable with his surroundings. He leaned down at first, but then lightly flopped onto his stomach, curling his tail into his body.

--------------------

Talia gave a small and polite smile, "Likewise, Ronan," That was a good question, she had been traveling forever, it felt like, not as long as Dagda, but long enough. She had merely been coming from the North-east, though, Dagda's land seemed to be far North (I think it's North, I'm not certain, honestly). "I'm not sure." She answered calmly. "We left home merely to escape, we didn't really plan anything beyond that."

Talia was the strategist of the two, but she couldn't function as well without her sister, her mind was too much on her twin, and had no intention of leaving her other half behind.

"I don't want to travel farther until my sister has chance to catch up, that I know for certain."

--------------------

Escape? This one word sent off a chain reaction in his mind... Was their living conditions so bad they had to leave? And if so what initially separated the two if they left at the same time... questions he wouldnt ask, but wait for when she wanted to answer.

"Your welcome on these lands as long as it takes for you to wait for your sister." Ronan said blantly, Talia proberbly knew this.. but perhaps him re-assuring her would make her feel more welcome.

"Its raining pretty hard tonight.... more than likely the rivers going to overflow." He wasnt sure if she wanted to change the subject.

--------------------

She seemed at ease through most of the conversation, though she didn't hint more at a reason for need to escape anymore than he asked. That was something that didn't need to be kept private, since she had no intention of going home again, but at the same time it wasn't something she was quite ready to talk about. She was still at a point where thinking back to her 'family' and thier manipulative and controlling ways hurt to recall. It was hard coming to terms with what they had fought so hard to come away from. Grateful for the shelter, Talia raised her head again so that she was sitting up from where she lay still. As her coat began to dry she was beginning to feel a chill from the evaporating rain water, and began plotting on getting closer for warmth. She just wanted to time it right. She hadn't really gotten a good feel for Ronan yet, and couldn't tell if he would be offended or disgusted by such a move, or if he would mind it. "I wonder who the sky is crying for," She murmered, turning slightly to her side now and gazing up into the treetops.

--------------------

"Mmm... well whomever its crying for, i feel sorry for them and wish them luck..." Ronan said in a soft tone, his eye lids started to drop slightly as the calming sounds of the rain started to wash over him. He opened his eyes open again trying to stay awake, but soon found them once again trying to close. It must be late night now, if not early morning.

"mmmffmmmm... its really late." Said he tucking his head underneath his for-limbs. He hadnt gotten any sleep earlier that day... was having too much fun looking around the lands, thats why he was away from the den where his mother and father where.

The wind started to pick up, well... from where he was atleast. Ronan wasnt too sure if she could feel it. But a wet pelt in the cold wind means illness is clausable. x.x;

--------------------

"Mmm..." She agreed, glancing over.

Ronan sounded as though he were getting tired, where Talia was just beginning to feel the call of sleep, from a distance no less. That sudden gust of wind, that was all the prompting that she needed. A few moments later found her settling down beside him again, having gotten up to close the distance easily enough. She settled close enough that their sides could touch, resting her head on her paws.

--------------------

Ronan was already haflway into the world of dreams when Talia had sat next to him so that their sides touched. Tho, he felt himself rolling over slightly towards her as another gust of wind came, seeking warmth.

Lifting his head from under his paws he proceaded to place them onto them instead... where he drifted off to deep sleep.

--------------------

She'd stay awake for a bit yet, not missing him seeking her out for warmth. She didn't mind. She gazed up towards the sky where the wind was beginning to chase away the clouds, the rain wouldn't stop for a while yet, but at least clear skies were on the way.

~Huh...~ She smiled faintly, then rested her head on her paws close to his and waited for sleep to take her as well.

Where. Freelands: Near the Mountains [Main thread]
With. Ikkume [Alexidi] + Talia [Tahja Estes]

The tan wolf lie, still awake, under the protection of a low tree. He could smell rain on the air and a distant rumble told him storms were brewing. As he watched the incoming weather, the swirled header clouds that lead the darkened and bloated tufts reminded him vaguely of Talia. He chuckled to himself, letting his head fall forward against the trunk of the tree. How odd he felt! Talia seemed to always be on his mind nowadays. The wiffs of grey were somewhat similar to the markings on the femme's coat. Not to mention she was always bearing some amount of trouble on her tail end, much like these header clouds were only the beginning of a storm.

--------------------

User Image

"You know, getting hold of you is quite the task."

It seemed like she was finally in luck. As she'd spotted the male, already she was beginning a slow saunter towards him, looking subdued as she usually did.

Her last few attempts to find Ikkume had been thwarted by various interruptions. Running into Whisper, running into Suzaku, running into Kouji-- although that was a happy interruption if ever there was one. She was starting to wonder, was she just doomed to fail until he came looking for her??

She wanted him to join their pack, Kouji had already agreed, and she would be very disappointed if she ended up having to part ways with Ikkume. Hopefully he'd accept, or their land would be close.

--------------------

Ikku's head rose at the familiar voice, then looked in the direction it came from and was thrilled to see the very object of his thoughts standing only yards away. He practically lept to his feet and hopped over to the femme, the largest grin a wolf could produce plastered over his large maw. "I wouldn't be so difficult if I had known such a pretty wolf was looking for me," he teased, brushing against her side then licking at her muzzle.

--------------------

Talia smiled a little smile and let her tail take up a small happy wag, She wasn't the hyper type, though she could be incredibly playful and flirtatious.

At the compliment, she narrowed her eyes halfway and partly shifted her head to one side, in a satisfied gesture.

At the physical contact on her side, she looked mildly amused and very slightly raised her brow. Someone was happy...

At the lick to her muzzle, she knew that he had to be in one hell of a good mood, not that she was going to complain. She did feel slightly uncertain, though. Ikkume had seemed uncomfortable when she did the same to him before, had he changed his mind? Her right ear flickered and straightened again, contemplating as the warmth where they'd touched tingled and faded.

She gave a strained, soft, but happy whine-- "Well hello to you too...!" --and gently nuzzled her snout into his own. "You been here long?"

--------------------

He could tell he had caught the femme off guard, and immediately withdrew himself. He hadn't necessarily planned to react so rashly, but then again hadn't had the slightest incling he would be seeing Talia in the near future, let alone that very second.

Ikku wagged his tail then sat back on his haunches, his ears flicking back slightly in embarassment, "Sorry, I guess I missed you more than I thought," he admitted rather abashedly.

"I just took shelter seeing the storm on the horizon. I figured I'd just watch it for a while before falling asleep ^^;" he sighed, deciding to leave the part about him daydreaming about her out of the conversation. His tail swished across the ground gently, "So then, if you've been looking for me all this time, what is it I should brace myself for?"

--------------------

Sad to say as it was, Talia relaxed as Ikkume went back to his usual behavior. She smiled a bit wistfully and settled onto her own haunches beside him, tail thumping the ground softly, now and then coming close to touching his. She was almost his size now, having finally breeched the last leg of her long adolescence. "Mmm, guess." She was feeling playfully mysterious as usual.

--------------------

"Guess?" He cocked his head slightly, "Uhh... You've come to run away with me?" He flashed her a goofy grin.

---------------------

Talia laughed good naturedly, smiling. "Congratulations slick, you got it in one."

She sounded playful about it still, scuffing the ground with her front left paw idly.

"A friend of ours is helping another friend of mine and hers form a pack. I'd like to join, but I want you to come with me... Whisper will be there also,"

She had found out recently that Ikkume and Whisper were already good friends. She hoped that would be added incentive enough for him to say yes, as she leaned over and turned her head to look up at him hopefully, but calmly waiting for an answer.

----------------------

Ikku blinked in surprise, taking a moment to process everything she had said. "Well technically, you're asking me to run away with you, not the other way around," he said half-jokingly, but then took the offer seriously, seeing in the femme's eyes that she was really wanting him to say yes. He was very close to giving in to her, but stopped and forced himself to consider this.

Currently, he really had no pack. It certainly wouldn't hurt him to join one, but that would mean giving up his search for Allenei. No, he couldn't forget about his old mate, even now when a new and very enticing life lay right at his paws. Talia was quickly stealing away his heart, and this land was magnificent, which was why he had lingered for so long here while on his search for his lost mate. Not to mention he had made so many new friends already, Whisper being one of them, and he would love to join this pack and snip the loose ends of his life away. And it would be so easy!

Yet Allenei's bright eyes and glorious energy were holding him at a standstill. He didn't want to give up on her. Ikku knew all too well that she would be crushed if he denied himself a good life, and that was what he could feel himself about to do. Why couldn't he detach? He didn't want this to haunt him for the rest of his life...

"Yes," he said softly, the one word shining through the jostle of thoughts and pictures going through his mind. And even as he said it, they all hushed and he could almost hear Allenei breathe a sigh of relief in his ear. Everything let go, and he felt like he could breathe again. The male smiled to Talia, "Yes, I'll join your pack. I'll run away with you."
