I've been wanting another guitar for a while now, and I've come to like both Ibanez and Schecter models. In your opinion, which is best? surprised

My gut is telling my Ibanez, beause they have such a long history and great reputation, but I can't help but consider Schecter's as well, they are incredibly high-quality as far as I can tell. Unfortunately I have hands-on experience with neither.

They are both good like Ash said, but personaly, I'd go for te Ibanez, I trust them more. But like always the best thing is to try em out personaly and see what you think.

Interesting note, ive heard a few people say: "Schecters are just like Ibanez, only you can play blues/jazz on them!"

If we are talking about Metal/Shred guitars, I think Jackson are the best. However out of the list you have I would say Ibanez. They sell loads of models for different price ranges, and I have heard that alot of them are good.

I haven't had the delight of playing either of them.
Which I'm sure would have been a different matter if there was a local guitar store.

Ibanez has the history, fanbase and rep, Schecter has alot of promise, but is a fairly new brand.
And I do love Jacksons. Jacksons are nice. Just not PRETTY like Ibanez or (more than Ibanez) SCHECTER! Ill be DAMNED if the Schecter C-1 Classic isnt a damn fine looking guit.

The Ibanez is going to be a sharp-looking (in most cases) souped up guitar while the Shecter is probably going to have a little more of a classy look and feel to it. I've had experience with both, and they both have very nice playability (Ibanez is reputed for their playability) but it depends what you want to do with the guitar.
I stress this a lot when I know people are deciding to buy something. If you want your guitar to do a certain thing, you have to figure out the requirements of that certain thing and then find a guitar that suits your needs.

Look at a Jackson DK2M in Crimson swirl and tell me that doesn't look great. ('tis the one I'm gonna get.) wink

I recently got a Schecter C-1 Artist for 500 bucks from the musicians friend, and its pretty nice, seymour duncan pickups, 24 frets, through neck construction, cool inlays, paint job and pearl neck binding, nto to mention the tunepros bridge...its awesome. But Ibanezes are good too my friend is gettign an RG and it looks sweet, just make sure that whatever you choose it fits you best, for example how do you like necks, a little bit smaller than strats or super thin like ibanenezes...think about stuff like that.

The best thing to do would be to go to guitar center, grab both of them, and check out xD. But no, grab both and sit down at an amp and just play. Then decide what you like best.
I'm partial to Schecter, however. I think they're far better looking/sounding/feeling guitars. Unless you're going for a signature. Then get a JEM cool
