Good job taking my advice and starting the thread. xp They rule, I've listened to the S/T and one other album, now. (drawing a blank on the name...) I'm sure this thread will pick up eventually. biggrin

Oh yes, the person in my signature is Ray Manzarek.

Their S/T is good, my favorite song on that album is Crystal Ship.

From what I hear, the S/T is the best...and I guessed that's who it was in your sig.(I looked at the properties to see what the link was, then looked at the member list you had posted here)

Well, I am not a fan of their love songs(Except Touch Me, and Light My Fire). So I can't say what is the best.

I LOVE the Doors. They're my second favorite band ever. I have Legacy: The Best of, but I'm planning on collecting every Doors CD ever. I've also been trying to find a good Doors book, which there seem to be a lot of, but I can't find any near me.

My favorite songs: "Break On Through", "Not To Touch the Earth", "Touch Me", "The Crystal Ship", "Gloria", and "Roadhouse Blues", plus the other classics like "Love Me Two Times", "Love Her Madly" and "Light My Fire".

Ugh, my post didn't show up.

Anyways, the Doors are my second favorite band ever. I've only got Legacy: The Absolute Best, but I'm planning on buying every CD. 3nodding

Some of my favorites: "Break On Through", "Twentieth Century Fox", "The Crystal Ship", "The End", "Tell All the People", "Gloria", "Not To Touch the Earth", "Roadhouse Blues", "Wishful Sinful", plus all the classic hits like "Light My Fire", "Touch Me", "Love Me Two Times", and "Love Her Madly".

Once I took up an entire bus ride just listening to "Celebration of the Lizard".

My favorite member of the group.. That's a tough one. Jim Morrison is one of my idols, but so is Ray Manzarek. sweatdrop

I created an arrangement of Light My Fire for woodwinds in a music course I took. It contained a variation in 6/8 time. It was really fun to do.

Ha, Wishful Sinful is a good song. Probably the best on The Soft Parade. No I'd say that "Soft Parade" is the best on "The Soft Parade". And "Waiting For the Sun", and I know I'm forgetting one.

Morrison is my musical idol, but Manzarek is my pianist idol. =/

I don't even play piano and Manzarek is my pianist idol. xp I'm trying to get a hold of a Doors piano book for my friend, who is an excellent pianist. Either that or the Eagles, because that;s her favorite band and she wants to learn the "Desperado" opening.

Ah, yes, I've seen that one. It's awesome. That movie is what made me an extremely hardcore Doors fan(I would say I was just a regular hardcore fan beforehand). I was wearing my Jim Morrison shirt and my mom was browsing the channels when we discovered it was on. I claimed that my shirt was a sign that we had to watch it, so we did. And I loved it.

I watched that movie, and it was okay. Val Kilmer resembled Morrison extremely. Except Densmore, Manzarek, and Krieger's actors looked nothing like them. And the sequence where they performed The End was awful. They didn't even get into the extensive "********, ********, ********, ******** yeah,. c'mon baby ******** me baby" line. And I don't recall them meeting Rotchild at the "Whiskey A Go-Go" in all the biographies I read. They made half of that s**t up. And Val Kilmer cannot sing like Morrison. All in all I give it 2 stars.
