Cerlyn-Ama sighed as she leaned against the wall. A student already? Damn. Maji also pestered her to take Laial into the first class, so two students, Squid-boy and this 'Ligeia Solon'. From the form, they both sounded like pansies. Thus, they went to weapon's defense. Now, only to pick a weapon...
Laial stood in the hallway outside Cerlyn's class. He didn't WANT to enter. At least, enter alone. Maybe the other kid wasn't so scared. Maybe Cerlyn-Ama was actually nice. Maybe he was just trying to comfort himself because he was scared of her.
The last one was probably most likely.
Heiko just lay at her master's feet, behaving quite well for a leviathan.

He wasn't to sure about this idea, fighting? The closest that he had done to that was the times that he'd been tackled by Cody. Even then he'd been flattened easily how he was he going to make it through this class? His wings gave a flutter and he found himself dragging his feet a little. The other classes that he had gone to hadn't bothered him so much as this but now... now he found himself worried. He had no idea what he was doing in this subject...
Standing in front of the door to the classroom he'd been instructed by his father to go he saw someone else. Not anyone that he thought he knew from anywhere. He fluttered his wings as he walked towards him, "Are we supposed to wait in the hall?" He asked of him, would be nice, that would give him that much more time to avoid the class that he was dreading.

Heiko's head peaked up from her master's feet wheh she heard Ligeia coming.
A small 'mrr' from her told Laial someone was coming. When he looked up, he almost froze. A bird. He still didn't like birds. Grey tentacles began to slowly wrap around his body, a nervous habit something like biting your nails. "Uh...I was waiting for the other student...is that you?"

Ligeia nodded his head, "Yeah. Are we gonna be in the class together?" He asked, good. Then that meant that he wasn't going to be all alone for this, that was good, "Good, I was a little worried about going into there alone." He seemed oblivious about the fact that he was making the other boy nervous, not because he was being mean any but because he was focusing on the class ahead.
Vorel, who was trailing on behind his partner after stopping at a water fountain that was along the hall to freeze himself a drink came along a moment later with an arch shaped icicle in his maw, looking over at Heiko. He tossed his head back to swallow down the ice and then hurrying closer, crooning. A new dragon?!

Laial nodded slowly. "Same here..." Cerlyn was bad enough on her own, but a bird too? Did he really need this kind of torture? "But if we wait too long she might get mad..." Which would be bad.
Heiko looked toward the crooning sound to see another dragon. She chirped back a happy greeting. New dragon! And this one was all cold and spikey and pretty.
Not that any of the other dragons she met were ugly. Far from it.

He nodded looking at the door before he stepped closer to it, reaching a gloved hand out to the knob. He turned it and pushed it open, "There we go, open." He said, sighing a little bit. That was the first step right? Then all they had to do was stepped through the threshold and they were in the class and could start, "Ready?" He asked of the one that was going to be taking the class with him.
Vorel's tail swished back and forth in an excited way, drawing back so to sit back on his haunches, "Mrawr, rowr." He told the new dragon, introducing himself it would seem. He then turned to look over at Ligeia who was stepping through the doorway into the class. He gave a squeak to look back and forth between his partner and the new dragon that he had just been able to meet.
As tempted as he was to stay there with Heiko he moved to follow after the owl child after a moment of thought.

Laial nodded. "Ready as I'll ever be." Not that that would ever be very ready, but he didn't really have much of a choice. He stepped into the classroom with Ligeia.
Heiko, too, followed her master.
They entered to have a tall, pale woman with red eyes and shorter black hair staring at them, waiting.
Cerlyn mentally sighed at the two students. She needed to add 'Gender' to the form, didn't she? "Right. Tentacle-boy and Owl-kid. Both here for defense?"

Ligeia look up at the tall woman before he gave a nod of his head, "Y-Yes." He said, nodding his head before he took a steadying breath. He should do this, "Yes, for the Defense Class." He said again this time able to get the words out more easily and less shaky, barely but he made it. It was a little better then he'd expected, as if he thought someone would jump out and attack them or something? He wasn't sure what he expected but it was enough to make him not want to come.
Vorel didn't seem as bothered coming to sit on his haunches next to Ligeia and crooned a greeting at the woman in front of him seeming to have no idea that this wasn't a class meant for him. In his mind he was as much a part as Ligeia even though half the time he just napped and/or ate his frozen treats.

Cerlyn raised an eyebrow. Yep. This one belonged in weapon's class. A bit on the wimpy side, even for a girl. Especially for a boy. Whichever the kid was. "So.....you wusses want to pick your own weapons, or want me to choose for you?"
Laial blinked. He'd rather decide for himself, but did the bird?
"Too bad, because I'll be picking for you. Knowing kids, aka you, you'd probably just pick the easiest or the most dangerous. That is a bad thing. You want to have a weapon that's best suited for your special DNA abilities." She glanced over at the weapons counter, eyeing the green sticker on the door. Green. Right. She pressed the green button on her remote, and lo and behold, the doors to the weapon cabinet swung forward.
Inside said weapons cabinet were colaspible lances, wooden poles, spears, throwing stars, whips, maces, broadswords, bows, arrows, and thousands of other weapons. If it was sharp, shiney, and could cause injury and/or death; it was probably in there.
"Lesse....Owl-kid, you pick a lance, spear, pole or whip. Wait, don't pick a whip. They suck at defence. Tentacle-boy, pick out as many daggers as you can hold." That probably wasn't the safest number, but oh well. D-Corp had a doctor, right?
Laial blinked. How many could he hold? If he held one each in his hand and tentacles, thenhe would have.......20? SHE WAS GOING TO GIVE HIM 20 DAGGERS?!?!?! Maybe he was wrong to assume her evil...
Heiko stayed off to the sidelines, merely watching what was happening. No way was she going to get involved with deadly shiney pointy objects.

Ligeia looked over as the weapon cabinet appeared, he tilted his head to the side as he looked them over. He had no idea really since he'd not atually though about a weapon for himself. It was nice he had to admit when the teacher listed off the ones that he could choose from. Walking over to the cabinet he peeked at the list that he was told to choose from, lance seemed a bit heavy for him he decided after picking it up. Mostly made of metal. Spear wasn't as bad since it had a wood haft and the only metal was the spear point and the balance on the other end. Lets see then wooden pole next, he picked it up and checked the feel of it in his hands, it wasn't to bad... light weight, balanced, something he was sure he could carry and weild even with his slight build.
He looked back and forth between the spear and the pole trying to decide between them. Both had their up points, good weapons. He found himself taking the pole though, the speak had a bladed point and he wasn't sure if he much liked the idea of someone getting hurt by his hands. He was sure that with this weapon he could defend himself and not run the risk of acciently striking with a point, "This one." He said to the teacher, stepping back so that Laial could get his many daggers.
Vorel's tail lashed as his partner returned to standing next to his side. He gave a crooning sound as the owl looked over his weapon, leaning against it. Ligeia then looked to his dragon, reaching over to dig through his back and tossed a frozen treat to Ligeia, "You sit back and be good ok? I need to train." This was going to be an interesting class and he didn't want for Vorel to get into it out of worry, if he were distracted with a snack he would be fine.

Cerlyn waited almost impatiently for Owl-kid to decide. When s/he finally stepped out of the way, she motioned for Laial to grab his daggers already.
Laial quickly hurried up to the counter and picked the 20 most different daggers he could find. Varitey was good, right? In weaponry, at least.
Finally coming down the stairs wih almost no noise, Cerlyn was at the same level as the students. Well...somewhat. She was still quite a bit taller than them. "Right. Owl-kid, you'll go first. I can waste my time on Tentacle-boy later."
Laial fought to stick his toungue out. The only reason he didn't was she might have cut it off with that sword she was carrying on her back.
"You ready to try it?" He'd probably break a few poles, but she had a few spare.
Heiko had flopped into a corner and curled up. A nap sounded rather good right now.

Ligeia looked up at the woman, blinking. Wow... she was still really tall even now that she had come down the stairs to stand in front of them. His hands held onto the wooden pole tightly before he gave a smile and a nod, "Sure! How do we start?" He asked, wings giving a flutter. He was enthusiastic but quite oblivious to whatever it was that they were gonna do, he was up for it though.
Or at least he was at the moment, time would tell if he remained like that.

Cerlyn-Ama managed to surpress a smirk. Barely. "By testing what you would instictively do to defend yourself, then improving on it." Then again, they always said kids learned better with examples... Like black lightning, she swung her sword's sheath about a foot in front of the kid. Not enough to cause damage, but it should be enough to get a defensive reflex out of him.
Laial was staying to the side, watching. He would wait for his turn.

A scree of surprise escaped from the owl child as the weapon came towards him, instead of defending with the weapon he had clutched in his hands he gave a flap of his wings to help him move backwards seeming to retreat instead of defend due to be rather startled by the woman's action. His heart was racing when he landed on his feet a couple feet back from where he'd started.
When he realized that he should have used the wooden pole that he'd carried along with him instead of running his cheeks got a little red, he was in a defense class not a running class...

Instead of stopping her smirk, Cerlyn hid it behind her hand, giving a somewhat air that she was disapointed in Ligeia. "Right. First off, you want to stand your ground and use your staff. Two key things." She didn't try to sound sarcastic, it just came out that way.
Laial blinked. His first reaction would have probably been to shrink into his shell.
