The little black cub, wasn't exactly little any more. His dark body had grown, his legs were gangly now and he was certainly bigger than his sisters. He showed signs already fo becoming a burly lion his dark shape already larger than your average cub. He had clearly gained this big gene from his mothers side of the family. The youngster was still happily bouncy though, clearly happy with life as a pride lander and proud of his fathers heritage.
Padding through the dust he flopped in to the shade of the den wheer he and his family slept smiling to himself. His dark coat cooling slowly in the shade. the only thing about being black, you attarcted sunlight! Sighing lightly the young male looked in to the darkness of the den and cleared his throat. he wondered if somone would come out and see him. he wished to speak to his mother of a very important matter!

Kizuka tiredly seached the horizon for a sign that would never come. It had been a while since Hakan walked away and somewhere deep inside Kizuka knew she could not live if he did not show up like he promised. However, she could of course, not show her concern to her cubs. To them she should be the perfect mother until the time came to announce them she was leaving.
The lioness had never felt more confused than she felt in that moment. First Hakan went away.. and then a lion, almost identical to her in color, showed up and claimed he was her half-brother. Who gave him the right to waltz into her life and mess up with everything like that?... Well then again, she now knew, if what that lion called Mwokoti said was true, she could leave her cubs to almost-safe paws of him. Then again, she did not know a lot about the lion, even though he was recaognized by the older members of the pridelanders, he was a stranger to her.
She suddenly lifted her head up from her thoughts... Did she hear something?... The lioness got up and walked out of the den and the expression on her face changed abrubtly to a happy on in the sight of her son. A big grin invaded her face and she ruffled with his newly forming mane "And what are you up to today?"

Nahodha'Kota turned his gaze to his mother and beamed weaving between ehr forelegs as she ruffled his ruff of fur that would one day be his dark mane. "I met the bird again" he whispers his dark coal like eyes climmering softly. "He keeps coming back to the water hole, he says it's sort of like a very small ocean" He paused for a moment sitting on his mothers paws his dark eyes searching his mother to see if she would question him on his obsession.
He paused though standing on his back paws he groomed his mothers cheek in a little kiss "are you okay mum?" he smiled tilting his cubby head in a cute, curious manner. "You've been kinda quiet just lately." He paused and licked his lips, the little black cub adored his mother.
Smiling he drpped back to his butt and looked up at ehr happily. "Did you see my manes nearlly here now?" he grins flickering the little flock of a forming fringe.

Kizuka smiled softly as she placed her pink paw on her son's forehead. This bird would be the reason of him leaving home sometime soon, the lioness knew it. She could feel it in her blood. Even though she was intending to go away sometime soon, she knew it would be the hardest to part with her son. When she was away from her cubs it was easy to think she could abandon them... But when she was right there with them the thought seemed unbearable. "Then someday, you should search for the real ocean sweetie" she replied "Only that way you will know for sure..." She wished she could take him on her quest to find her soul again, but she knew she could not risk her son like that.. yet when the time came she would give him the choise either to stay or accompany her and hope that he would choose the first one even though she could see some sparks on wanderlust in his eyes... just like herself.
"I am okay..." she was amazed how he could sense she was being torn apart inside, even though she tried to hide it... She would tell him now... She should, or she knew he would never forgive her, "Kota... I have something to tell you..." She looked into her son's eyes "This may be a little hard on you and I do not know if you are ready for this, but I need to tell it..."
