Nyunya was currently sitting in the shade of a large rock that jutted out of the grassy lands. The trees of her homelands were behind her, but she had not ventured as far as she usually did before stopping. She told herself that this was of her own choosing, that she didn't want to go any further today, but that was simply a lie. She refused to admit that tiny fact to herself, however, and instead settled for the comfort of fooling herself into thinking she wasn't afraid of someone who could be lurking anywhere beyond the borders.
The small femme yawned, lazily scratching at a black-tipped ear with a small forepaw, her eyes on the sky as she watched the path of a flock of colourful birds. Pink, like the fur on her head, with odd-shaped beaks. She knew the name, distantly, but it wouldn't come. Their flight made her think of her own experience soaring above the lands, and a small smile spread across her face - one of only a few, recently.

True, Taabu had been told on his first journey into these beautiful lands that he was quite unwanted - by someone who claimed to be a princess herself. Not that he had any proof for this fact, but he didn't seem to mind it so much, even the title had become a bit of a nickname for her in his opinion. Even if there was no truth behind the fact, she would always be the little princess. Too bad he didn't know she really was a princess - even if, after all, it was not of these exact lands.
Still, on such a lonesome day, Taabu had decided he was in need of a walk - to work out the soreness of his tortured muscles. Fighting took a tole on the body that Taabu was more than willing to admit to anyone. He sported a healing wound over his right eye, deep, but luckily not deep enough to have injured the actual eye itself. The rest of his body sported more, some deep, some not, others promising scars as easily as the first did. He looked a little worse for wear, and he truly was.
With a deep breath, filling his lungs with the fresh air of a beautiful land, he managed a weak smile - though it wasn't perhaps as kind as any he had shown before. It was a weak attempt to make himself feel better, though he knew he a family feud was never something easily forgotten - no matter what you thought of the other.
Still, all this thinking didn't explain why his feet had led him here, had it? Or perhaps it was just that - he had only just been walking, with no care of where his feet actually led him. That was when he saw her, however, lougning on another rock.
"Why the long face, princess?" came those gentle words, his body slowly falling to a sitting position once he was close enough. His voice was weak, strained a bit - a dead give away to his tired soul.

Without looking down at him just yet, she closed her eyes, a soft sigh slipping out. Oh, wonderful. First time she ventured out the trees since... it happened, and who does she run into? The bratty prince, Taabu. She couldn't have had a peaceful day? A day to try and forget?
"It's not something I want to talk about, Taabu," she murmured, still with her eyes closed. "And please don't call me that." She had recently learned exactly what station her father had taken for himself, and what it made her, technically, and now she no longer wished to have the title. When it was pretend it was fine, but now...
Her eyes open again and looks at him, opening her mouth to say something else, when herjaw drops open fully and the words die in her throat.
"What happened?" she asks, arching an eyebrow as her eyes sweep over him, assessing the damage, for whatever purpose. She frowns a little as she takes note of the wounds that decorate him, tsking a little. "Who have you been fighting with?"

Taabu frowned as he heard her first words, though he only shrugged - there really was no reason to go about provoking her. He nodded, however, "Alright, then, I won't call you princess anymore." He grimaced, moving slowly to let himself lay down, finding that his muscles were perhaps more sore than he had originally thought - and he still had to walk back to the pridelands, and eventually - home.
At her next words he frowned, deeply, furrowing his brows into a 'v' and shutting his eyes against her brightly colored pelt. "My useless Uncle," he breathed slowly, gently cracking open his lids and staring up at her form, "just a family dispute, I guess, but everything is a dispute when it comes to him."

"So I'm not the only one with family problems, then," she murmurs, before thinking it through, and has to wince slightly. Well done, Nyunya. Say you don't want to talk about it and then tell him the problem. Absolutely brilliant.
With a put-upon sigh, as though all the troubles of the world had suddenly fallen upon her shoulders, she hefts herself to her feet and starts circling him, tail flickering just a little in agitation - but is that agitation at being disturbed again by him, or agitation at what's happened to him. Hm. That is the question. "Well, it doesn't look too bad. That one across your eye is worst. A little deeper and..." She lets her words trail off, coming to a stop in front of him and lowering her lithe body to a laying position, sphinx-like, paws almost close enough to be touching his.

Woohoo, everyone loves AIM logs. XDCrysseh Taabu quirked a brow slowly as he heard those words fall from her maw. Then the real reason she was here, moping, was because of some family problem? Well, he knew full and well the problems that had happened in his family, and if anything similar to that had happened in her own (royal or not, for he wasn't sure at this point) then he had all the sympathy in the world for her. Something, however, told him that sympathy would not be a welcomed emotion for him to be spreading all about for her. "No, they aren't but so bad, it wasn't a bad fight," he murmured, tail lashing silently behind him as he remained sitting up, "it wasnt what you would call a fair fight - but I'm sure it won't be the last of him either." He frowned, glancing away into the direction of the pridelands, "and I pity him once my mother sees the looks of me." Sammeh Well, sympathy from those who cared for her wasn't doing all the much for her. She left them all still feeling mopey, a thing she hated. She hated how much her father had affected her in just one short meeting. Sympathy for finding out your father was a monster from someone who didn't care for her might be nice. But she wasn't planning on telling him about it, much less the idenitity of her father, so... it seemed she had no chance of being cheered up any time soon, poor thing. She sighed softly as she watched him, tilting her head a little and letting her salmon fur fall out of her eyes. "I wish my mother had the strength to take care of my problems... Ithi, maybe, but not my real mother. Actually, probably not Ithi, either." Glancing up at the sky again, she sighs a second time. "I have to deal with it on my own, I fear." She's more thinking out loud than talking to him at this moment, really. Crysseh Taabu frowned softly at the words that she spoke, knowing that they were more for her than for anything (or anyone) else. It was just a way of letting out the problems, he knew that, and he wouldhold nothing she said here against her - now, or ever. HE did, however, let himself relax into much the same position as the young beaut herself. "If it would help," he murmured, eyes on her with a bit of a quirk of his own brow, "I'm here if you need my help. I might be gone soon, but it won't be but so far." HE smiled, it was weak, and trying to prove his reassurance, "I know what it's like when one of your parents can't protect you. I've had to protect my dad since the day I could walk.." True, it was never with his strength then - but with his presence. Sammeh She laughed, though quite mirthlessly, at the sudden image Taabu's words brought; him, all beaten and battered by a recent fight, going up against the muscular and powerful Nyekundu. It was laughable, the image, but she didn't find it the least bit funny. "Thanks, Taabu, but I really don't think you could help. Not if he comes after me again... you're too weak like this. And besides, I don't want anyone... to get hurt because of me." She shakes her head at the thought. "But... what's wrong with your father? Is he... old? Sick, maybe?" She's grasping onto something else to focus on, as she had when her sister comforted her not a day ago. Anything to stop herself dwelling on her father. Crysseh He smirked and shook his head, "I won't be weak for very long, Ny. Besides, if you're worried about him finding you easily - whoever he is - why not just go somewhere he wouldn't expect you to be?" His tail flickered, eyes thrown away towards the horizon a moment, "if he comes around again, you could come to the kusini lands. There's more there than just me to protect you." At her question, however, he sighed and let his eyes flicker back to his own. "He's been sick since the day he was born. He has fits, coughing spells, and he gets other sicknesses easily. But he has a temper, so lots of times he's going about picking fights he can't win." Sammeh "I plan to travel. When I'm bigger and stronger. Not that I expect to get much bigger than this," she says, with a wry smile. "But the problem is that I don't know where he is. He could be anywhere. I just... don't know. I... I don't want to run into him again." At his description of his father's temper, her smile widens a little. "Sounds kind of like my brother, Fedha. He's got a temper. He's vanished now, though." She shrugs, not really caring much. Of course, HER temper doesn't come into account. Oh, no. Crysseh He frowned as he tilted his head, sighing softly, "whoever he is, I'm sure he cannot be in the Kusini lands. My grandfather keeps a close watch on all the members - and they keep a close watch on all travellers. There would most certainly be news of someone that sounds that vile," he whispered. True, he didn't even know who he was or what he had done - but if he was making Nyunya react in such a way, it could be nothing good. He chuckled and nodded, "and I've met quite a few people with my father's temper. I myself have it deep down - which might be what led to the argument with m Uncle in the first place. HE's never been real fond of my father, or of me for being his offspring." Sammeh Well, if the Kusini lands were one place she could be almost one hundred percent sure Nyekundu wasn't there, it sounded damned well appealing. Perhaps those lands would be her first stop on her journey, when she finally set out with Liza in tow. It no longer occured to her not to include Liza in big decisions. She now thought of how that affect him as well as how they would affect her. It was at this moment that she realised they were actually having a civil conversation - and that she wasn't thinking of her father for the first time in what seemed like a long time. She arches a brow at him at the thought. "I know that feeling," she mutters darkly after a moment, seeing her father's... distaste for her mother, and probably for her because of it. "It's not nice to be despised by blood, is it?" Crysseh He shook his head slowly at her comment, tail flickering behind him as he glanced at her eyes - eyes that, in a sense, were not unlike his own. "No, it most certainly isn't, but I suppose it's easier when you're not the only one that they frown upon. Denahi has little heart for anyone of our family - not even his own blood." He shook his head with a little growl lingering in his throat, the anger at Denahi's meer thought enough to rile him some. "He's forsaken his blood, and he will never be allowed back into the Kusini lands. Over my mother's or my own dead body." Roar, much? xD Sammeh She stifled a very inappropriate giggle at the tone of his words. Males acting tough around her always made her want to laugh, for some reason. Probably because of Fedha. Of course, if they acted so AT her, it was a different story. She'd lash them with her tongue and send them off with their tails between their legs. But still, just the thought of WANTING to giggle in her low mood was enough to bring a smile to her face. It felt good, even if it wasn't the time for it. "So, I take it you encountered him outside your lands, then? Whereabouts? He sounds like a character I'd be better off avoiding, when I travel." Crysseh Taabu ignored her smiling, it didn't bother him, and his toughness had certainly not been there to impress her - just thinking of a blood traitor was enough to get his veins boiling. He did, however, offer her a weak smile as he tried to calm himself down - his father's temper was well placed in his heart, it seemed. "He lives in the pridelands, with his mate and his children, after bashing my mother for mating to a pridelander himself. His mate is my father's sister." He shrugged, rolling his eyes annoyedly - Denahi was a big prat, and that was all. "Just an unworthy hypocrite." Sammeh His mother's brother is mated to his father's sister? Her brows wrinkled a bit as she tried to work out just how the cubs would all be related to each other and to the adults. They certainly did like to keep it in the family, it seemed, these Kusini and Pridelanders. "It sounds like it. It sounds like you have... an interesting family, Taabu. Not so different from mine, really, when I think about it properly." Absently, she begins to preen and clean her colourful tuft of fur, a powerful, compulsive habit. Crysseh He smiled and shook his head, tail flickering as he lay his head then upon his own paws - idley watching her groom herself. "It's not as bad as it sounds. My mother and uncle married brother and sister. IT was odd how it worked out, and Denahi was, well, we were all surprised by his choice." He yawned and shut his eyes, letting the sounds of those surrounding him fill his ears and calm him somewhat. Sammeh "Well, you may have some bizarre and anti-social members among you, but at least you have a big family, Taabu. I don't." She sighs gently, ceasing the cleaning and laying her head down on her forepaws. "There's seven of us, although that number's gone down to five, with Zimwi going off and finding a mate, and Fedha just plain disappearing. I couldn't ask for better family than the four who still live with me, but sometimes... I do wish there were more of us. More to talk to, to feel accepted by, loved by. It's not to be, though, it seems." Certainly, the other side of her family she never hoped to meet. Ever. Too much chance they were all like... him. Crysseh He smirked and shook his head, glancing up at her slowly from his rested position with his head upon his paws. "Well one day you're bound to grow up and find a mate, right Ny?" Her name was too long - he was going to shorten it, without even asking her. "Maybe your mate will have a big family? Then you could have all the annoying members you wanted. That, and you're bound to have cubs too." He nodded, letting his eyes shut. It seemed like a perfectly reasonable solution to him. Sammeh She blinked a moment, somewhat surprised at that. She'd never given real thought to the whole mate thing. Cubs, yeah, she'd assumed that she'd eventually have some. She'd just never... thought about needing someone else to get them. The first thing that comes to her mind is an image of Duhu, as she's still suffering her little crush over him. But then... then an image of Taabu appeared next to it, and before she realised what she was doing, she was weighing them next to each other. That's what made her cough in embarrassment and turn away, not meeting his eyes any more. "Yes, you're probably right. Still... that's a way in the future, I hope. I'm not ready for cubs yet, or any time in the near future." Crysseh Of course, Taabu had no idea at all what she was thinking, then he probably would have been quite amused himself. He just smirked and flicked his tail, watching her. "Yes, but it will happen eventually, it always does - expected or not. I myself was not expected, but my mother couldn't love me more." Sammeh "Of course," she says, recovering from those rather embarrassing thoughts as he didn't comment on her suspect behaviour. "It was the same with me. When my mother found out she was carrying me, she was terrified. Now, she's as devoted a mother as anyone could ask for." She shifts herself a little, laying more on her side now as she finally looks back at him. "But I really hope there are no unexpected arrivals in my future. I'd feel so much better if such a thing were planned, and I could actually find a male I could depend on to help out." Crysseh He nodded as he realized the similarities in their pasts, flicking his tail behind him as he listened to the rest of her words. "Well, I don't know anything else, but if you're ever unable to find a male - I'd always be willing to help. It's an odd proposal, and it's not for anything but your aid - and then you could tact on royal titles to your children. And that would ensure you safety forever from whomever hunts you. Kusini cubs and their mothers are protected entirely by the pride," he murmured, nodding happily. What an odd conversation for a Juvenile and an Adolescent to be having, don't you think? Sammeh Oh, hell yeah it was an odd conversation. Her crimson eyes widen to the point where they may be in danger of tumbling out of her face, and her jaw drops. For a few seconds, she sputters, unable to form a reply to that - especially in light of what she had been thinking a few moments before. Even without such wayward images floating around one's brain, that was still a bizarre thing to have said to one, isn't it? "Did I mishear, or did you seriously just offer what I thought you did?" Crysseh His eyes slowly quirked open, a soft smirk on his maw as he shrugged, "I meant a long time from now Nyunya. It saves you the trouble of having to look for a decent male - after all, I might be annoying sometimes, but family is something worth protecting. And that would keep you, likewise, safe." He frowned, then shrugged again, shutting his eyes, "of course, that's only up to you. You certainly dont have to decide right now - you have a long time to make up your mind." Sammeh A laugh spills from her; why, she didn't know. Still, even if she found the suggestion preposterous, the... benefits seemed all right. Not that she'd ever take him up on the offer. If she had cubs, ever, she would want a real mate, not some male who just did his business and was, perhaps, in the lives of those cubs only as much as was necessary as a father, maybe less. And what if, later, they found mates themselves? No. It wasn't ideal, in her mind. There would be no cubs if there was no mate. "Ah... generous as your offer is, Taabu, I doubt I'll ever, uh... take you up on it. If I ever had cubs, I'd want the whole family package. I don't plan on settling for less. Uh... thank you, though." Crysseh He just chuckled, tail flickering side to side as he lay there, more tired than he had ever remembered being for this journey. His weakness really must have been harder on him than he had imagined. "I was just offering, I don't doubt your ability to find an actual mate. Still, you're welcome in the kusini lands no matter." Sammeh "I think I definitely will visit your homelands eventually, though. I have to return the favour of disturbing me in my pride lands." She smirked, moving them from this rather... strange conversation of cubs and... other things that she didn't think too appropriate, given her age and... well... everything else, really. If he brought it up again, she might have to whack him to shut him up. Makes her feel too embarrassed. "And I don't doubt you'll not have to rely on the generosity of passing females to have cubs of your own. I'm sure someone will be able to put up with you."

He chuckled softly at her words, his tail flickering as he slowly pushed himself up into a sitting position - eyes lingering on her for the time being. "I'm sure I'll find someone to put up with me sooner or later. After all - most females don't find me half as annoying as you do," he said with a chuckle, eyes glancing away towards the direction he knew to be pride rock.
He flickered his eyes back towards her, smiling weakly as he pushed himself back onto his feet. He was tired - and he wanted to get home to pride rock before he lost his energy entirely, "I hope you do come to my lands, one day, though. They're beautiful - you'd fit right in, Ny." He smiled, tail flickering as he glanced in the direction of pride rock again.

She chuckled too, actually finding him decent company today. Well, apart from the embarrassing parts of the conversation that she'd rather have never happened. "Well, you're not even half as annoying today, Taabu. It seems I'll have to beat you if I ever want a civilised conversation with you again."
At his compliment, she merely raised an eyebrow, managing to stop herself sputtering or blushing or doing anything so ridiculous, much to her relief. "I'm sure you fit right in, too, then," she replies to that. Two can play at this complimenting game thing.
"But, uh... take care, Taabu. It's a long walk back." Woah. That almost sounds like she cares.
