Something inside the lioness prevented her from leaving the Pridelands, even though her responsibilities shouted she should return to the Firekin desert because that was where she was needed the most. However, Eir did not want to leave the sweet memory of Mrost, and his clumsy description of his feelings and wanted to live it over and over again. It was strange, a goddess of her personality feeling in such a way against a god who was violence immortalized. Her feelings already prevented her from performing her reponsibilities fully. The pale goddess shivered as she looked over at the Pride Rock. What kind of fate awaited them?.. Not that she was such a big fan of the destiny thing, but then again somehow she suspected the future held something both marvelous and terrifying for her and Mrost.
The goddess lifted herself up from the ground using her unusually large wings and flew over the slightly familiar lands, looking for a spot in shade to rest before she left for Firekin lands again.. those dry, dark, and pessimistic lands she came to call home..

Maawio was alone. She hadn't been truly alone since the birth of Mbari, who was clinging and had stayed by her side until he recently reached adolescence. She loved him to pieces, his nervous and stuttering self reminded her so much of herself when she was young.
And then there was the return of Amari. A while ago she had been walking and seen his figure, it was so much like a mirage. But he was back and apologetic and willing to be a good father.
It was then Maawio looked down to her bulging stomach. She had never ballooned so quickly the last time, but then again she only gave birth to one cub. Titling her head she smiled, and saw a huge moving shadow on the ground before her. Maawio looked up and saw a beautifully pale lioness gliding perfectly through the sky. She had large wings that looked so soft.. The adult almost gasped.

Eir gazed down at the Pridelands with her bicolored eyes, still looking for the perfect spot. However, instead of a spot she came across the sight of a lioness, one she had not met before. The goddess gracefully slided through the air and landed down on the ground before the Pridelander. "Hello" she softly said "I hope I am not disturbing your solitude..." The goddess smiled. She herself was fond of her own freedom and solitude so it was easy for her to understand if this lioness wanted to be alone too.
Then her eyes caught the sight of the lioness' big belly. The goddess smiled and nodded ".. and congratulations! My, my you are going to have a handful with all those boys and girls!" Even though she could sense the babies' genders, she did not like to give them out because mainly it was against the law of nature.

Oh what a friendly lioness! She'd only met one other like her, a beautiful purple and white lioness when she was a juvenile. This lioness was just amazing... Maawio stared in awe for a moment before she remembered her manners and gave a soft smile. "Hello, no it's nice to have some company."
She suddenly became a little nervous in front of the Goddess but as she congratulated her she felt warm and glowed with pride, sapphire eyes sparkling. "Thankyou!" Her smile widened. "I know, but I really can't wait." This pregnancy was one of the best things that had happened to Maawio, along with Amari and Mbari. She had everything she could ask for really.

Eir nodded. She knew the feeling. After she met Mrost, she found it rather hard not to seek his company. She was slowly coming to a realization that even though she was fond of her solitude; it was getting harder and harder to bear the heavy weight of being lonely.
"The miracle of life is so amazing, and so are you for embracing it so excitedly" the goddess smiled "As I can see you were mother once before, I am sure you will do perfectly fine this time as you did before" Eir was the mother of renewal yet, literally she had never mothered any cubs of her own blood neither wished to, nor did she know if that was possible. She was not a mortal, and she doubted she had the priveledge of bringing children on this earth which did not belong to her.
"I am Eir, by the way... " she bowed gracefully "Might I ask what your name is?"

The smile lingered, in her eyes aswell as on her maw. These extraordinary lions were so amazing. Not only were they physically stunning, with wings and jewellery and such, but they seemed to possess powers that were almost unimaginable.
How did Eir know that she was already a mother? She almost questioned the lioness. "H-how did you..." However she simply thought it would be too rude. She simply looked at the elegant female in wonder.
Maawio matched her bow the best she could, however lowering her body meant her huge stomach was only inches from the ground. Instead she just lowered her head and widened her smile. "Eir..." She murmured. "What a nice name. My name is Maawio."

Eir blushed "Oh I am so sorry, I did not mean to pry on your personal life... It is just that I have this connection with life that I can sense it.. and The life I sense from you is stronger than it is with other lionesses of your situation, therefore I knew" She smiled. "The white magic i command makes it impossible for me to disregard such a powerful aura of liveliness"
She smiled "Nice to meet you Maawio, it is not always that I meed such kind company..." she sighed "Those firekin lions rarely know how to behave" She got serious "You would better keep the little ones away from those lands for a while... The Firekin lions are ruthless and narrow minded, they love enslaving others they think inferior than themselves..." She shook her head "That's why I like Pridelands better, it is peaceful here... Somewhere I can rest in peace for a while..." She thought of Mrost again, as his image briefly flashed in front of her eyes. She was peaceful with him no matter where they were.

Maawio was still nervous and a little intimidated, although the lioness seemed very friednly and caring. "D-dont be sorry." At what the lioness said next, the golden female was stunned. Her sapphire eyes widened. A goddess could sense such a thing? She was honoured to be in the presence of Eir, though a little shy. "What a gift." She blushed.
Her sweet smile returned. "Nice to meet you too, Eir." She was lost for words again, staring at the Goddess before she thought herself too rude and looked away. As Eir began to talk of the firekin something stirred in Maawios mind. Yes she'd heard of them, and that they kept slaves. Maawio almost shuddered. How could a lion class another as inferior? It was simply wrong, and she wholly agreed with Eir. "Y-yes. Very peaceful here."
Her eyes glazed over for a moment and she looked over to pride rock, her sweet voice blissfully happy. "A nice place to raise a family."

"It is sometime a burden" she replied sadly "What you have, an ephemeral life, now that is a gift..." She nodded "A few of my kind would admit to this but we are only here to serve you mortals.. to make sure everything is in balance for you to exist.."
The goddess was glad the lioness knew of the firekin and their reputation... It would be too sad if she saw some of Maawio's kin in those lands and see she was too late. The goddess shuddered but kept her thoughts inside.
"A family..." she repeated. What did it mean exactly? "Your children and your beloved one..." she continued. Beloved one... Was Maawio's beloved one somehow like Mrost and what he was to her? Would simply loving someone make them family? She was such a stranger to such concepts.. All she knew was that the blue god of war was all that she had and all that she would not and could not stand losing. Would that make them a family?... "being in love and happy... that is all a mortal can ask for, is it not?"

"I could see h-how it could be a burden." The lioness admitted. Such mysteries in life often came as a wonderful suprise that to know the answer to most things would spoil them. "Then you lead a selfless life." She always knew the Gods had some other purpose. But to serve and keep the mortals in balance? The sweet adult was almost perplexed.
At Eirs reaction to family she guessed she had a mate, or that she'd felt love as one time. Love was the one key thing that kept a family together. It was the glue, as such. Some families could be strung together by sibling rivarly or the pride of their parents, but deep down the cement was the love. Love was felt in every family, except for the odd bad apple of course.
"Yes, I suppose." A sudden thought came into Maawios head and she smiled awkwardly. Would it be too much to ask? Her beautiful eyes flickered to the ground for a moment. "But love and happiness still exist in your world, right?"

Eir herself was surprised how she came to talk so openly with a mortal like she never imagined it would, but after all, Maawio was her teacher now, and their roles were reversed when it come to the feelings she felt inside that resembled a mortal's. Eir was still a student, and she knew that Mrost was too. The goddess wondered how he felt, deep inside, about her.
"I really do not know what i should call these feelings inside me... but I think you can express it as love, I suppose, in mortal terms... I never knew such a feeling coul exist inside me before a short time" the goddess looked away... Such a feeling she tried to stay away from becuase she knew that would make her vulnerable... but she finally wanted something for herself, and to be selfish for one time in her life. "I fell in love with War.." she replied softly.

Maawio looked on as Eir spoke. The golden female was comforting. The goddess looked a little apprehensive, almost unsure of herself. Then as she spoke of a certain feeling Maawios brow furrowed. "Love is such a powerful thing, and so unusual, perhaps that is the thing y-you feel." She didn't want to be patronizing, or feel that she was teaching a good so she soon fell quiet.
War. Maawio had hardly any experience of the subject, as the Pridelands were a peaceful land, as Eir had mentioned. However she had the feeling that Eir was referring to a creature or a personality rather than the actual scenario of war itself. "War..." She murmured sweetly. "I do not know of such a subject." She was honest, and her wide eyes looked up to Eir with such admiration. This lioness had what she described as a curse and yet she had the ability to fall in love, but a lioness who fell in love with something as painful and harmful as war? She didn't know anything like it.

Eir smiled at the lioness "I am not sure how to name it but I am sure of how I feel... finally..." she replied and smiled charmingly. "Thank you so much, you helped me realize that maybe.. somehow what I feel is stronger than it should have been.." She did not know if that was a good thing or the opposite.. all she knew was that she was happy.
"It was a pleasure to meet you kind lioness... I will always cherish these memories" the goddess smiled and with a raise of her silvery wings she drew a symbol in the air which started to glow with a pale blue light. "This is a good health charm which will ensure the safety and health of your babies if you wish to claim it... This is the least I can do for you, so it will make me happy if you do indeed decide to accept it" and with these words the lioness bowed gracefully and prepared to leave. Her responsibilities awaited her return..

Maawios smiled never faded, and she felt happy that perhaps she had enlightened the goddess in some way. Never before had she met such an obviously powerful lioness who was yet so humble. "You're very welcome." She bowed her head gracefully, and now she felt very much at ease with Eir.
"And thankyou... so much... Eir..." She said almost breathlessly as she moved foward. With this blessing, she needn't worry, all her cubs would be safe and healthy. She knew it was a little too much to mess with life, but if it was ensuring her cubs protection... Well.. "Please." Maawio lowered her head again, looking up to the symbol in awe. She looked up to the pale Goddess and smiled. "I too will remember this."
She was certain, certain that this meeting and this extraordinary lioness would be remembered for the rest of her life.
