Fedha was getting a little nervous, it even showed some on his face. What if Na-Be would refuse, no matter what Fedha said to the adult? His features became stoney, stubborn. No! He would be taught! His tail flicked and he slowed his pacing, he was pacing back and forth in the spot Ivie and he had met. How was he supposed to meet up with her? There was a spot she was going to be at, but he'd forgotten it. "Oh well." He muttered.
He began to head toward pride rock, blue eyes flicking about in hopes of spotting the pale green cub.

Na hadn't been sleeping well, not at all and this time it wasn't just the fault of Red, in fact the blue lion's alter-ego had been just as worried as him lately. The visions had been intensifying, hitting him in broad daylight, while he slept, whenever they wanted. He was beginning to feel out of synch with the world, as though he was slipping off of solid reality and into some world that was a blur of the three streams of time, past, present and future, all flashing, spinning and merging until he couldn't tell one from the other. His nightmares - for that's what they all were, nightmares - had showed him snapshots of Mrost's plans, many featuring him, and in other more worrying glimpses, he had heard the whispers of death foretold for the leaders of the great pride he called home.
The blue seer lay at the entrance to the den, trying to drag his fractured thoughts back to the world around him and away from the emotions and visions that set him on edge that someone was coming.
It was only this that was holding him back from dozing off, sleep would mean that Red would have full control of his actions and words, something that he couldn't allow to happen when he felt this way. So for now Red was pushed aside. He got to his feet and stretched with an easy grin, looking up at the emerging stars overhead that seemed to swirl and dance in his vision as he looked into their past, present and future in one hallucinogenic mass. To any other sane lion, the sight would probably cause some distress, but to Na, all they were were pretty lights, of no concern.

Ivie watched her father with a curious gaze. She had never had many heart to heart conversations with him, and in fact ever since her seer powers had shone through she had distanced herself from everyone. She didn't want to see into the pasts of her family.
No one understood why she was so distant and anti-social, but the fact was that Ivie feared close contact.
She also hated the fact that her father and mother had kept secrets from her, secrets that could have given her great relief.
Until she had met Fedha she had believed herself a freak, a monster, someone who others would run in fear from. She didn't want these powers anymore but Fedha had said things that had intrigued her.
If she could control her power, if she could...
Fedha'kialio was her first true friend and it was this that blinded her to other motives he might have. She knew he'd be coming to see her father soon but when? Would she be waiting here for a long time or would it be a couple of hours?
She shifted in the grass but did not approach her sire yet, he probably was aware that she was there though, as the wind had begun to carry her scent with it.

Fedha was giving calm, practiced breaths as he went along, making sure he could keep his mind calm and not get all twisted up on nerves. Being nervous could be the worst thing to happen, or maybe the least of his problems, but he wouldn't chance it.
Suddenly he could smell Ivie on the wind and shifted his gait accordingly, moving a bit faster and less toward the den area. More toward his 'friend'. His ears perked and finally his eyes took in her form. "There you are, Ivie'lingwa." He breathed out softly, looking slowly around. He spotted what she was watching. "Is that him?" He asked, his tone obviously carried the curiousness in his mind.

Na knew his daughter was there, and this made him sad. He had never been truly able to get close to any of his family, too scared that he would end up hurting them the way he'd hurt everyone he'd ever held dear. What would it be like to lose a father you cared about and who cared for you in return? It would be hard, so he'd come to the conclusion that losing a father who cared for you but who you didn't know would be less of a hurt. Mrost dogged his steps and he would never lay down his children before that monster, not in a million years. Stupid he may have been in terms of common sense but his morals and tactics were fully operational.
He almost got up to go over and see his daughter, see why she avoided him, but he did not, instead trying to block out the thoughts and look away, back up at the stars in their endless ballet. If she wanted to talk to him, she'd approach, he wouldn't bother her, after all, who wanted their big stupid fool of a father interrupting their thoughts?

She had never considered her father a fool. In fact she loved him dearly, that was why it hurt so much when she thought of all the secrets he and mother had kept.
She gave a small sniffled and almost jumped out of her fur at Fedha's voice. "Mree!" She clapped a paw over her mouth and edged sideways nervously.
Stay calm, it's only Fedha, he won't get close enough to hurt you. With calm restored she let herself relax and nodded slowly. "Yep, that's N-- that's my father." She swallowed.
And with a small gesture she moved forwards towards the deep blue lion, pausing only to give Fedha a look that said: 'I hope you're ready.' Then moved to sit beside the adult male, keeping her distance.
"Daddy..." Her ears drooped slightly, "are you busy?"

Fedha almost smirked, but he kept his expression cool. So she was that nervous of others coming unannouned, was she? As she moved forward his tail flicked and he followed. He was bigger than Na-Be's daughter, that was obvious. Certainly he carried himself with more confidence and poise, but Fedha didn't have visions that filled him with pain, did he? Or an alter ego, for that matter.
Fedha remained silent, dipping his head in greeting as he came into full view. He sat himself down, facing the two.

The blue lion wasn't sure wether to be glad or anxious that Ivie chose that moment to approach him, under normal circumstances he'd have been glad, but her expression did nothing but make him worried, seriousness always unsettled him and he actually had to make a concious effort to stop himself just letting Red take over so he could hide. He gave her a warm smile, pretending to be ignorant of her serious tone. "Of course I'm not busy." he grinned. "M'never busy!"
He bowed his head to Fedha, only just noticing the calm lion who accompanied his daughter. "Eyo there stranger." he said, sliding almost effortlessly into his over enthusiastic idiot tone. He returned his gaze to Ivie and titled his head with another smile "Why all so serious?"

She smiled a little at her father's tone and relaxed her posture, eyes flicking to Fedha before returning to her father's smiling face.
"Daddy, this is my bestest friend Fedha'Kialio!" She exclaimed, a smile appearing on her face. It seemed her father's cheeryness was somewhat contagious.
"He wanted to visit you cos apparently your famous!" There was no sign of her upset and irritation now. Apparently her mood could swing from one to the other in a second.

His ear's pricked as he listened to Na's words, eyes almost starting to narrow. But when Ivie said something about them being friends Fedha just let a slow grin slide onto his face, as much as his face protested.
His eyes widened slightly and he shot a gaze toward Ivie, one clearly saying he wasn't pleased. He let his face retort back into something of a calm and laughed out, there was a tiny hint of nervousness in the laugh. "Well, not famous exactly. I've heard about seers in this pride... and who could of guessed my new playmate's father was one?" He didn't know how he could really twist these words, but hopefully Na would pass over the fact that Ivie wasn't aware that he was a seer until after Fedha had told her.

Na nodded, looking over Fedha as Ivie spoke of him "That's one hell of a name you have there." he grinned. However, there was that faint flicker of surprise and worry in his gaze as Red made note of the fact that he was apparently known. To Na, fame was an amusing prospect, to Red it was a danger. "Famous? Me?" he laughed merrily " What for?" he looked thoughtful "Oh I know! Maybe it's because I can run really fast!" However, he seemed to miss a beat in his stride at Fedha's comment, once again that jokey facade sliding to reveal in his gaze for only a millisecond, the sheer fury Red felt at being found out.
He raised a brow, the glower vanished as fast as it came, looking innocently confused he said. "A seer? Wassat?"

Ivie continued to nod as Fedha explained everything, seemingly unaware of her father's deep and dark thoughts.
It was only his last couple of words that sent her heart growing cold. Was it possible her father didn't know? Was that why he hadn't told her? She sniffed, feeling suddenly very guilty at ever hating him because of it.
"Daddy..." Perhaps it was time to be truthful. "Fedha'kialio is a seer and...so am I. We see things, things we shouldn't see."
Tears welled.
"Daddy, can you make it go away?" Wait...that's not what she was supposed to be saying. "I mean...can you help us?"

His heart was beginning to beat hard against his ribcage, and despite all his practice at staying calm he was getting worried. Don't let him fool you. He had to remember Mrost's meeting. His gaze cut again to Ivie, but he kept it neutral.
"You don't... see things?" He said, carefully. "I mean I.." No start over. "Your daughter and I can see things." Even if Ivie had just said that, it didn't matter. "I swore someone here could teach us... and when I found out Ivie'lingwa could see things too I assumed her father would be a seer.." No, that was a terrible lie. "Or maybe her mother." He said slowly. "I suppose I was wrong in assuming so... I just thought I could find a really excellent teacher." Flattery might not work, but it was worth a try.

Na tilted his head, honestly confused. Red was the one who knew how being a seer worked, knew what Na should and shouldn't see. Though he couldn't direct the seer capibilities, he was the one who interpreted them. "So. Seers see things they shouldn't?"
The fleshy thump of claws smacking another creature, blood seeping from wounds he hadn't had control over inflicting, the shadow of death, poised over his family, midnight blue fury in the darkness.
Oh he saw things he never wanted to see, saw them even when he was awake. He looked at Ivie in amazement and horror. He had passed that curse onto her? Forced her to spend a life where what you knew wasn't what others did, where you could never simply stand tall and say that you were a part of the real world, instead trapped perpetually in a swirling mass of possibilities, some solid, others not. He frowned, something Na almost never did.
"I'm sorry. I can't make it go away. I can try to help but I don't know how much use I'll be."
It was Red who did the interpreting.
"But yeah." he conceded "I see things." he closed his eyes almost in pain "I see the bad lion. I see things before they happen sometimes, and other times I'll see them and they won't ever happen. I feel things. Feel what the bad lion feels, kill what he kills. So much agony." he opened his amber eyes again "And I can't shut it out, even if I cover my ears, close my eyes and curl up tight, I still hear it."
He looked away, ashamed. "Red knows what it means. I don't."

"Daddy!" It disturbed her to see his father talking about things like that. Her eyes whirled with tears and she was torn between sitting there and approaching him.
She wanted to comfort her father but if she touched him...would she be cursed with the visions he saw?
A sob racked her body and never before had she felt clsoer to her father. "Maybe we can help each other daddy?" She murmured and without another thought she moved to rub closely against her sire, cuddling in against his side.
No visions.
No pain.
Nothing.
Just the warmth of her father's body and the comfort gained from the closeness.
