R.A. Salvatore

The Demon Awakens (Part of a series called the Demonwars)

He's a terrific author, and this is the first in a great, mature world he's created all of his own.

Check it out! A little cliche for at the very beginning, but good stuff!

On Fanfiction.net, there is a writer named Satashi, whose fanfic got me interested in writing. He may not be famous, but I still admire him!! blaugh

My favorite writer is Melanie Rawn. Her Dragon Prince series was amazingly written and you really got to know all of the characters. I can't really describe the style of writing, but I couldn't put the books down once I started reading them ^^

Janny Wurts
-at one time one of my favorite authors, and although I don't really care much about her books anymore I still have a lot of admiration for her because she writes AND does her own covers.

Oh, yeah. That's a good one. I really liked the Fortress series, even though the ending was a bit flat...

It's a tie because their books are my two favorites and I just can't pick one over the other...

Tawni O'Dell--Backroads. It was fantastically written and...I just loved it

and some of you may have heard of this one...

Alice Sebold--The Lovely Bones...Not since the Outsiders has a woman written so wonderfully from a males point of view.

when I grow up I want to be Douglas Adams because his best book is 'last chance to see' and I want to write a book like that book...

I heart the writing of Michael Chabon. It makes me happy on the inside.

Constantin Stanislavski is a pretty good text-guy, if you're into acting, but the translation of the books is horrible. I'm only bringing that up because I have to read them.

LOL, I would be more than satisfied to be able to write like Diane Duane... I don't even try to wish for more.

Diana Wynne Jones is great, but my "idol" would have to be Ellen Raskin, author of The Westing Game. I couldn't dream of writing like her, but if I could...wow. Just wow.
