Heyas. What do you do when 10 Pro-Choicers come at you at once with flames on why your opinion is bull stuffing, then when you defend yourself, you get set up and reported. Then after that incident, other Pro-Lifers try to step in, but their afforts are in vein because the entire thread is NOT an Abortion discussion, but a "We're lesbian Pro-Choicers and anyone who doesn't think abortion is cool will get their heads bit off, period!"

Then the thread turns intoi a spam, make-out session and you're blood boils because they say crap stuff. But you know if you go in there, they have an oozie just waiting for you.

AND you want to report the thread, but you've already been reported and it would seem like you want revenge, (I do...I really do. I hope one of them comes to New York)..and...OOH! Sorry guys..I'm frustrated and venting...

Yeah, for future abortion threads that have a 89% chance of being recycled...what step should I take before going Taurus on their tail and bull ramming right into the thread with my view..without the "You're a B_____" and the "Oh no you didn't!" and the
Quote:
*everything bad you say and is ready to be reported*
stuff.

KP606, I'd gladly run them over with a school bus, just tell me when.

Just leave. If they're just going to spam the thread that's their problem, don't start adding fuel to their fire.

I'd rather not argue with those who want the choice for death over life.

They have a bad habbit of cataloguing everything they find inappropriate. Little do they know the flaws of themselves.

Pick your battles. One of the hardest things in life is to know when to back off.

Get me the link and I'll happily help.

If you need to insult them, use quotes from the people who are flaming against the other people who are flaming, or just quote other people from other threads.

*runs around in circles* I don't know how many times I've been flamed by about 20 trillion Pro-Choicers at once ><

Isn't personhood all relative though?

joking.

It's sorta like...

This flame warrior page?

Quote:
Cyber Sisters are an extremely fierce confederation of fighting females who act something like a shrill Greek chorus, echoing and amplifying one another's voice until their foes retreat in disarray. They are generally leaderless, but anyone who challenges one Cyber Sister can expect to be savagely attacked by the others. Only the most powerful and battle-hardened of Warriors is strong enough to weather a Cyber Sisters attack.

For all of you who seem to doubt my judgement of discussing people:

Malee
Each mod might give you a slightly different answer to the question of slander. I'll give you mine.

In the past, I have dealt with similar situations were one user, we'll say Star, posts something that Moon takes as slander and possibly, abuse. Moon can then report it to a moderator saying that they feel that this user is being abusive and posting slander about them. A mod can then step in and do something about it.

Its very important that the user in question, like Moon, reports it. Stating that Star is making abusive and slander type posts against them and they cannot come to their own defense.

Is that what you were looking for? If not, let me know.

Malee

Straight from Malee, a mod.

I'm not talking about anyone in particular. Just the feeling of being attacked by everyone as soon as you make a statement, and they all sort of applaud eachother. It's different than the swarm because swarms don't bother going, you rock, and, right on, and things. I agree with you on slander. If I ever quote something, I leave names out of it. That way I can still make my opinion on that argument heard without insulting anyone. Otherwise, it's just setting myself up to be flamed, warned, banned, etc. If someone told me that by being banned from Gaia, I could end legalized abortion, I'd take it, but it would be useless and counterproductive...it just makes me look like an idiot, and my stance look idiotic.

The great thing about flame warriors is that I see me in some of them, and they're all so annoying and unattractive, but that's the point I think. Nobody's perfect, and we've all got our styles and personalities. We have character flaws that can be our greatest strengths sometimes, things that seem weak at first but erupt into something unpredictably fierce.

You're a strong person, with good insights and a good head on your shoulders. If a thread looks like it'll be recycled, you might as well not post. Not because your point isn't valid, but because the reason you get that feeling is probably because you recognize the Self-congratulatory pep rally. People doing that aren't interested in listening to you or letting other people listen to you, they're interested in screaming over you so that you can't be heard, and if it's so fargone that you get that feeling, you probably will be screamed out. There are some calmer, REAL debate threads out there, it's just a question of finding them.

Moderators have also lost their head at certain points, I can disagree with mods as well because mods are still human. We are all human.

Even so, I find that regardless of what is said or done, the pro-choice do support each other because they are so numerous on Gaia. Gaia is a very liberal site, and usually present liberal views on most things, there are those crazy conservatives that have a lot of pride, but they do not really make any difference if any.

I understand what the abortion debate is about on the ED, and what I see is just a group of people (mostly women) who are fighting for the ability to have a choice in determining the right to their body... what they fail to realize is that their choice kills someone. And in order to justify themselves in front of everyone else, they make these arguments about how a fetus is not a life, or how it isn't human and what not.

It's these rationalizations that keep humans going on the down hill. The need to justify yourself in front of others. The fact is I will always be against abortion, the problem is that people try to justify abortion. If they didn't try to justify it, perhaps we wouldn't have as much debate.

Careful with generalizing liberals, you haven't said anything bad or wrong but I've been on sites where a statement like that can lead to liberal bashing, and you must remember that not everyone in this guild is conservative. And by that I mean I'm very liberal, as is 'theallpowerful', raven_drake is mostly liberal and lymelady is right smack in the middle. Those are only the members I'm personally friends with as well.

So while I know you didn't mean anything by that, and nothing you said came across as offensive, be careful of grouping liberals with 'pro-choice' as it can lead to bad things down the road. Perhaps not by you personally but other people sometimes pick it up as a cue for liberal bashing.

I was just about to say it makes sense, but.

The but being, "not all liberals are prochoice, and not all conservatives are prolife."

I agree with him, though. xd

Gaia is filled with more liberals than conservatives. Prochoice is labeled a "liberal" view, which I don't like labels but hey, the world seems to love them. Since Gaia consists of mostly tweens trying to figure out who they are and what they believe, many go with labels to start off their search for themselves. Gives them a starting point, and they can go from there. It is reasonable to assume that more Gaians are prochoice than prolife.

Aw, but we haven't had a good bashing in ages! I love bashing liberals. They're fun to bash! *hits toxic* mwuahahaha.

Kidding.

Never mind the abortion thread in ED. Those girls don't even listen to pro-choicers who do not worship them.
