IntroductionWORK IN PROGRESS, PLEASE PARDON redface This may take a while as I'm realizing I need to find a good place to display the items I'll be taking pictures of. x: And it'll take even longer to get pictures of me in all the outfits. @_@ Hopefully my boyfriend can help me with this, his working on the CD yearbook and they want to do a segment on my clothing style. XD So...Well...This is going to be an on going project with a big celebration once I finally get it finished! cheese_whine So, every loli needs her perfect wardrobe. Idealy, the "perfect" wardrobe features 11 pieces (not including shoes or accessories). This includes 5 skirts, 5 shirts, and 1 jacket. But, many lolis wear dresses! Never fear, I shall help sort this out, my lovely lolis. Every piece in your wardrobe should be able to match at least 2 other pieces (ie 1 shirt should be able to match 2 different bottoms). Since everything needs to match, you should stick with a certain style of loli, or at least a certain colour pattern (sweet lolis can wear black, its not just for goth lolis). I myself am a sweet lolita with pink and black outfits. This includes 2 black skirts, 1 white lace skirt, 1 pink shirt, 1 white shirt, 1 black vest, and a pink dress. I have many non loli shirts, vests, and corsets that are Victorian inspired that pair well with most of these. I also own 3 pairs of black mary janes and 1 pair of pink. In the following posts, this will be discussed in detail. Beginnings arrow First, go through your closet, dresser, vanity, wardrobe, suitcase, whatever you happen to keep your clothes in. Remove all of your lolita items (or ones that can legitimately be considered lolita) and lay them on a surface to work with (a bed, a clean floor, the cough, where ever you're comfortable with laying your precious clothes). Include your shoes you wear as well as hair accessories and what have you (purses, dollfies, and plushies not included). arrow Now organize your clothes into groups. Lay your skirts in one pile, you shirts in another, petticoats in aother, bloomers in another, etc, until everything is seperated. Now for the fun part. biggrin

Skirts arrow Seperate your skirts and focus solely on them. arrow Take pictures of them for easy reference. arrow Try to decide if you have any shirts, accessories, and shoes that can match multiple skirts. For example (I will take actual pictures of the skirts later, for now I'll use store pictures of the skirts, so I'll only be showing a few ^^; ): In my closet I have 3 brand name loli skirts. 1 cream lace skirt for aristocrat outfits and 1 black with white laceskirt that when worn beneath the breats can pass for a loli skirt (minus poof D: ). I have 2 strapless dresses that I use as skirts as well, 1 black and 1 red with black fleur de leis, but these I'll put in the dresses section :3 . Skirt 1 Black and white. Goes with ALL of my black shirts, black corsets, vests, and white shirts. Goes with my black mary janes. Skirt 2 (focus only on the skirt, not on the entire outfit) Black and white. Goes with ALL of my black shirts, black corsets, vests, and white shirts. Goes with my black mary janes. Skirt 3 White. Lacey. Goes with my pink shirt, all of my white shirts, all of my corsets, and vests. Goes with my black mary janes and my pink ones. Skirt 3 NO PICTURE Black w/ white lace. Goes with ALL of my black shirts, black corsets, vests, and white shirts. Goes with my black mary janes. Skirt 4 NO PICTURE Cream lace. Goes with ALL of my black corsets, vests, and white shirts. Goes with my black mary janes (except the one with skull 'n' cross bones).

Shirts arrow Seperate your shirts from the other clothes. DO NOT include vests or corsets in this pile (unless it's a corset that is a shirt, not merely a corset). DO NOT add them to the skirt pile. arrow Divide them into colours (white pile, black pile). arrow Figure out what skirts and accessories they can go with. For example: In my closet I have MANY shirts. XD I have 2 brand name loli shirts. 3 white shirts. 4 black shirts. And...more (I'm not going through my closet as I do this ^^;; ). Shirt 1 Antique pink with tulle ruffles. Goes with my white skirt and possibly my cream skirt. Cannot be worn with my corsets. Needs to have a shirt worn underneath, only one matches it well enough. Goes with pink mary janes and black mary janes. Shirt 2 The shirt underneath the vest and collar. White with black ribbon, includes detachable sleeves and collar. Matches ALL black skirts, vests and corsets. Not sure ifi t matches white skirt. Black and pink mary janes can be worn with it. Other Shirts...Too be continued with real photos. XD

This thread makes me excited. X3 It can be confusing for some when creating a lolita wardrobe. Thank you very much for it! (^O^)/~♥♥♥

BabyEaterLad This thread makes me excited. X3 It can be confusing for some when creating a lolita wardrobe. Thank you very much for it! (^O^)/~♥♥♥ That's what I was thinking. But in my fashion class, we had an assignment where we had to organize our closets and figure out how efficient out wardrobe is. I realized that many lolis pro'lly have a problem with their own "closet monster" and don't have the right clothes or enough clothes. And after all of the information is finished I'd like to see the wardrobes everyone has created. ^_^

Well, I have a few Lolita and Lolita-esque items. Some of which are black mary janes, a petticoat, white stockings, ( if this can be considered Loli- ) B/W Striped knee socks, a black skirt that I'm currently altering, and a black courderoy ( spelling D smile coat with a standing collar. most of it is either from wal*mart, thrift stores, or this one really preppy store that had the jacket that I now so adore. Pretty much it's all one outfit. D: I'm saving up to get a one-peice white dress on Cosmates for 60$.
I'm cheap like that. I need to find a place to store my precious Lolita clothing. I dun want it ruined in my dresser. D: But this is a good idea and I'll take some pictures of my stuff when I'm done. : DD~
